I don't know how I feel how the small window, but the thinner torso is actually kind of cool because it makes him different and fits into the look for him being an insect.
Long-time Mosquitor stan here! I had a few MotU toys as a child, but I really got into it in the late 90s/early 00s due to Dinosaur Dracula and the Mike Young series. Mosquitor was my favorite Hordesmen back in the day due to loving bugs and finding his vampirism gimmick cool (and not having read most of the minicomics, I always imagined him as a blood-sucker rather than an energy-drainer). I got to use the blood pump on a vintage Mosquitor once at a toy store, but now I'm angling on getting a proper Mosquitor into my collection.
I just want to point something I think it's very important about this figure. In the back of Mosquitor has a warning and it says: " CAUTION: Contains light liquid petrolatum N.F. Discard if broken or leak develops" I think it's important to keep in mind when it comes for kids about this particular action figure. Thanks for the review, hope this tip can be useful.
Congratz on getting Mosquitor. I got mine in around the same... waiting on my second one so i can finally open one. Now... i'm just waiting for my favorite one to come out. 🤞The Tower of Power himself EXTENDOR!
In case anyone's interested, if you hold the figure with its chest facing down then you can pump the button until the window is solid red and it will hold like that
I absolutely loved playing with the blood pumping with the vintage figure when I was a kid. I didn't realize how much smaller the origins figure's chest window was
Transformation of the filmation cartoon Prince adam to He-man still gives me the 80s chills. No matter how they want to change this franchise they cant take away my memories of the toy shops when i was 6 or 7. Seeing the shelfs full of Masters of the universe figures. Bring on the time machines!!!
I'm still waiting for my Mosquitor I preordered from BigBadToystore, hopefully this video means they'll be shipping mine soon. I'm super geeked about this review!
This has to be one of the most anticipated videos for you, Dan! I was smiling listening to you geek out after following your passion and channel for many years, the accessories are awesome.
The window seems to be a bummer for me too, it doesn’t give off that Evil Horde bat silhouette BUT…..man overall I’m excited to have this guy come in. I’m geeking out just as much as you haha
Finally found him today at my local Target. Only the one with a restock of Ram Man and Clamp Champ. Super glad to finally have him, love the action feature
I feel like the design of the Origin line is what effects these chest mounted action features. The vintage figures torsos had pegs on the shoulders and the arms had sockets. The Origins are opposite with pegs on the arms and sockets in the torso shoulders. Because of this, there's less room the the torso for action features like battle armor damage spinners or the blood reservoir. So it seems Mattel had to scale those features down a bit to fit them in the new torsos.
Couldn't agree more, I love seeing all the love this character is getting in recent years. He was absolutely one of my top 5 MOTU figures growing up for all the reasons you said.
Mosquitor has always been the Scare Glow of the Horde for me. Just a super cool design and someone that could use more exposure for him to reach his full potential as a popular character.
I knew you’d be geeking out in your review on this one, Dan! And I agree 100%, the blood window should really be bigger (just as the Battle Armor plates should be bigger too). But it’s still awesome to have that feature once again intact. I honestly don’t remember if I had Mosquitor or not since he came out right around the time I started growing out of the toys. The way you feel about Mosquitor is how I feel about Stinkor and Moss Man. Those smells are what made those figures special and unique to me. I really hope Mattel rectifies Stinkor’s smell (or lack thereof) and gives the inevitable Moss Man that pine fresh smell.
Something I noticed, that I'm kind of surprised you didn't mention, is his eyes aren't fully painted right. Compare him to the vintage or Classics version, or even to the artwork on the Origins package, and you can see the black around his eyes are supposed to cover the whole eyelid up to the center crest on his head but the Origins figure only has black around the edge like eyeliner.
I was actually very impressed with this after opening it up. Mattel is doing a really great job bringing back the vintage looking figures. I haven't been blown away by the smaller battle armor and blood features of the deluxe, but overall I really like most of the decisions they made in making these using actual full color mold pieces, and the modular features to create your own versions of MOTU characters is an awesome little extra to have.
One of the best figures in the line. My favorite as well since I was a kid and like you said primarily because of the action feature. So happy this was released again with the action feature.
One of my favs also, cool to be able to have him :)))) just got it couple days ago! can't believe im being able to buy them in store after so many years, thanks for the review!
I love him too bro! Right up there with my other 2 faves, Trap Jaw & Tri-Klops! But I definitely prefer the og with the bigger bulkier figure. The horde bat shape looks off small. And his head almost looks too big for his body when compared to the og. Cool they did an unhelmeted head. Always been a badass character that I wanted to see more in books and toons. Classics one is awesome except no blood pump
Been looking forward to the new Mosquitor figure, glad to finally see you do a review of it and to finally have it in your hands. This is a must have for me, regardless of some of the differences .Just like you i loved the action feature of the bloodpump and i could just sit and pump it all day long dreaming of creatures and monsters and that is another reason why i like him, he is a creature. Great review as always Dan! Keep up the great work, keep the love and passion alive!
My Origins Mosquitor arrived yesterday. I never had the vintage figure, so I'm totally jazzed to have him. And I personally like the alternate head. It gives it a more organic mutated feel.
I've never owned a Mosquitor but how you feel about his blood pumping feature is exactly how I feel about battle armor He-Man and Skeletor. They remain my favorites to this day.
yes sadly i got my 2nd Mosquitor 2 days ago - and after some time i discovered that the toxic blood fluid is leaking out the back - but that seems to have happened allot with this version, why mattel knowingly used a hazzardous substance in a childrens toy is a bit puzzling.... as per the caution info on the card were Petrolatum N.F. is used in the fluid... and a notice on the figures back ....were is says to dispose if leaking or broken - but i paid $75 NZ for this figure - so ive opted to stop pushing the pump button - as thats were the leak is coming from...because throwing out $75 NZD is a bit on the nose i feel.
My two favorite figures of MOTU are Mosquitor and Spikor. Was also surprised mosquitor received the deluxe treatment, but definitely worth it with the extra head. I have both this and revelations spikor. Can’t wait for the origins Spikor though.
I really think most of us spent tons of time pumping the blood through the vintage one. Hands down one of the most unique toys I had as a kid. I could play with him and Kobra Kahn for hours. I just need Webstor now!
Yeah, the original one is the best. The larger neck and torso rule. I hope when they do leech, he won't be confined to this size buck like poor mosquitor. The extra blood drain effect add-on is awesome on the origins one for sure.
The Mosquitor bit you did with Toy Galaxy in that top 10 He-Man figures list still gives me a chuckle. That aside, looking forward to getting this figure.
It is possible that we got Mosquitor so early because of you and how popular you made that character - of which I only had a faint recollection. So thank you for making me rediscover Mosquitor and I'm glad you got your well deserved reward. Now, since you have this super power, can you please sing the praises of Thung Lashor (MY favourite) 🤣🤣🤣
Awesome figure, can't wait to receive mine. But yeah the chest window should be larger and like you said, the battle damage on Heman and Skeletor should also be larger. They would look even more awesome then they already are. Don't understand why they couldn't make it larger as the arms aren't removable.
my mosquitor broke right out of the package. went to remove the head and the little peg the head fits on popped right out of the socket. i managed to get the peg back in but know the head just flops all over the place.
i do think the skinnier look fits the character really well as an isectoid. Also i believe the alternate head is more of a comic book look instead of an unhelmeted look, since it doesn't quite match the original head design. I also believe vintage Mosquitor is more of a cyborg, especially with his connection to the Horde.
So nattel made the torso super skinny and the head twice as big as the vintage what were they thinkin? Those wacky proportions is a deal breaker for sure
Great review Dan. He is a must and without question has the best gimmick of all time - the chest pump. But seriously Mattel, its been more than 30 years now, you have more money, technical advantage and experience, is it possible you make one of this figures actually BETTER than the original?
I actually manage to get him last week in a store here in South Africa and love him, never had him in Vintage collection, we only received him in very limited copies, 2-4 per store. Now just waiting for Wave 6 to arrive in masses, a few people have found wave 6 so far but it seems that only 1 per each figure in selected store at the moment. We have also given up on Wave 1-3 ever arriving in our store, we will have to import those at double the cost than what it would have cost if they were in store.
So glad i was growing up in the eighties. My dad paid £2.99 for my soft head Skeletor. that was 1982 in the uk. First saw the ad in the uk Eagle comic book. I fell in love with Masters of the universe after this. Origins is not as real as the vintage friends.
I like to think that Mattel gave Mosquitor the All-Star treatment as a thank you to you, Dan! You have selflessly praised and promoted the franchise for years, and I have no doubts that the recent resurgence in MOTU popularity is due in no small part to your efforts. Thank you so much!
Yes i Finally managed to get two of these in Origins, after i had almosrt given up ... and the Vintage offering, so just waiting to get the second Ori Mosquitor now for loose display.
The oversized heads and tiny chest window ruin this figure. The blood effect is the only thing worth buying it for, since it is compatible with the vintage figure.
I got the original Mosquitor back in the day; alongside with Dragstor and the Horde Trooper, those were the last MOTU figures I ever got. I loved each of those figures. I agree with Dan that it would've been so awesome if only they had made the blood pumping feature in its chest bigger and somehow conceal those holes, but aside from that, this seems like a pretty decent figure. Now that there's a Mosquitor Origins figure, I can only hope there will be Dragstor and Horde Trooper figures as well at some point.
The wholes remind me of the face on Peeps. I still have my childhood Mosquitor (which I used to take to the many blood tests I had to have as a kid) in working order and with his blaster.
They had two when I went to Target, But he was hidden behind another deluxe figure Nice to finally see why you like him so much, It's fun to pump his blood lol I wish he did come with a pair of claw hands though like on the package.
I got mine finally from bbts yesterday. Im not opening mine. Saving all of them for when my son gets older then I'll let him play with them/ have them.
If you really think about it in the chest. Toys has gotten smaller now these days. Costs money & resources now these days.I think Just be glad they added it & still have it. Look How many Other features they can't do anymore. They can't do those sparking gimmicks no more. Also No more realistiece toy guns But yes least it has it right?. Sadly things change through the years.yes it may be smaller. But toys are starting to be like that. Like I said Least it has it.
Mosquitor has always been my favorite figure. I have him on preorder with bbts. The biggest reasons I haven't bought the deluxe He-Man and Skeletor is because the action features are too small and looks very cheap to me, plus the head sculpt of He-man is awful. Seriously one of my favorite figures from any mass-retail toyline in a long time. You just look at this guy on your shelf and want to play with him and watch that blood ooze like a little kid. I can't believe he's the only non-Skeletor or He-Man figure I've seen since this line staarted. Exactly, Dan! The action features are what makes the Masters of the Universe-figures so special!

Mosquitor Rattlor and Two Bad are my FAVORITE Motu figures
I still have my Mosquitor from the 80s too- and he's mint
I'm still waiting for my Mosquitor I preordered from BigBadToystore, hopefully this video means they'll be shipping mine soon. I'm super geeked about this review!
This has to be one of the most anticipated videos for you, Dan! I was smiling listening to you geek out after following your passion and channel for many years, the accessories are awesome.
Desde Costa Rica, Pixel Dan eres el mejor!
The window seems to be a bummer for me too, it doesn’t give off that Evil Horde bat silhouette BUT…..man overall I’m excited to have this guy come in. I’m geeking out just as much as you haha

What I’ve always found to be unique about Mosquitor is his LOOK! To me he has that 80’s hip hop look to him!
If his head was about 30% smaller, he'd be a buy. The Origins noggin is massive.
I was actually very impressed with this after opening it up. Mattel is doing a really great job bringing back the vintage looking figures. I love how Mosquitor’s nose is so clearly a fountain pen. The original artists must have loved working on this walking fever dream.
I love him too bro! Right up there with my other 2 faves, Trap Jaw & Tri-Klops! But I definitely prefer the og with the bigger bulkier figure. The horde bat shape looks off small. Great review dan as always love mosquitor the art is great on these card backs.
I've never owned a Mosquitor but how you feel about his blood pumping feature is exactly how I feel about battle armor He-Man and Skeletor. They remain my favorites to this day.
Energy draining from He-man really looks good! Makes Mosquitor worth owning!

My favorite life sucker was leech can't wait to see if they do a origin's figure of him!
he was on one of the figure boxes art work but I don't recall which one I seen him on🤷♂️
Yeah, the original one is the best. The larger neck and torso rule. I hope when they do leech, he won't be confined to this size buck like poor mosquitor.
The extra blood drain effect add-on is awesome on the origins one for sure.
I had this guy as a child. He was awesome!! I bought it for my kiddo this Christmas because of that!
They should do an exclusive black blood variant. And hell do a green blood variant too because that would look cool
The Mosquitor bit you did with Toy Galaxy in that top 10 He-Man figures list still gives me a chuckle. That aside, looking forward to getting this figure.
Wish I was a RUclipsr so companies can make products solely to cater to my preferences
This is one figure I am reaaaaaally looking forward to getting my mitts on!
I wonder why the feature doesn't ooze as nicely as the original.
It is possible that we got Mosquitor so early because of you and how popular you made that character - of which I only had a faint recollection. Whenever Mosquitor is mentioned, all I think about is Dan geeking out and making gurgling sounds in the Toy Galaxy video.
JR🤠: Bah Gawd King, its that red viscous liquid!
I'm a Mosquitor fan. :D
Reminds me of a repurposed idea Mattel had as a blood pump feature from Pulsar in the 70's. Lots of 70's DNA with MOTU.
This is one of the cases where the original seems easily superior. I have this figure preordered from BBTS as well and haven’t had it arrive yet lol
So nattel made the torso super skinny and the head twice as big as the vintage what were they thinkin? Those wacky proportions is a deal breaker for sure
Agreed with you about the chest window should have been bigger. Love the comparisons. Very visual. Thank you for your content.
Great review Dan. He is a must and without question has the best gimmick of all time - the chest pump.
But seriously Mattel, its been more than 30 years now, you have more money, technical advantage and experience, is it possible you make one of this figures actually BETTER than the original?
I would argue that Faker, Fisto, Tri-Klops, Ram Man, Mer-Man, and Man-At-Arms are just as good (if not better) than the originals. Especially Ram Man.
I actually manage to get him last week in a store here in South Africa and love him, never had him in Vintage collection, we only received him in very limited copies, 2-4 per store. I way prefer the lumpy unmasked head. Theyre advertised here in New Zealand BUT no one can find them.
I like to think that Mattel gave Mosquitor the All-Star treatment as a thank you to you, Dan! You have selflessly praised and promoted the franchise for years, and I have no doubts that the recent resurgence in MOTU popularity is due in no small part to your efforts. Thank you so much!
I got mine yesterday. 😊 Love this figure.
0:40, I didn't know you liked Puppet Master, Dan, that's cool!
Mine came in today so it's waiting for me when I get home. I never had it as a kid so I'm really looking forward to opening it
Awesome looking figure.
Congrats Pixel Dan.
I remember when you got Mosquitor in classics. You kept it together this time. Gangnam style!
I bet Dan had a MOTU Geekgasm when he scored this figure. It does look an amazing figure!
PS I love the Battle Bones on the character art on the back.
Vintage window is 100% better.
Can’t wait for this guy to enter my Pile Of Loot. Ok, clearly I can wait but I can’t wait much longer!
Yes i Finally managed to get two of these in Origins, after i had almosrt given up ... and the Vintage offering, so just waiting to get the second Ori Mosquitor now for loose display.
I've been waiting to see Dan's review for Origins Mosquitor since I saw it announced
I preordered mine from BBTS back when he was 1st available and mine hasn’t even shipped yet. Still showing October ETA for some reason. Looks awesome
I am presuming they used the tooling from the battle armor chests to create the tooling for his blood chest.
They had two when I went to Target, But he was hidden behind another deluxe figure
Nice to finally see why you like him so much, It's fun to pump his blood lol
I wish he did come with a pair of claw hands though like on the package.
Yeah. or even just a clawed left hand instead of a left gripping hand for a second accessory he doesn't come with.
@@doctorjohnsmith3653 True, He can at least use the other gripping hand to duel grip his gun.
I got mine finally from bbts yesterday. Im not opening mine. Saving all of them for when my son gets older then I'll let him play with them/ have them.
Aah I want him so bad! Been waiting on BBTS for a long time now.
Same issue I have with the Battle Armor figures. Just... too small of a window on these new guys.
I wanted to collect Origins Herman so thanks for all the reviews
If you really think about it in the chest. Toys has gotten smaller now these days. Costs money & resources now these days.I think Just be glad they added it & still have it. Look How many Other features they can't do anymore. They can't do those sparking gimmicks no more. Also No more realistiece toy guns But yes least it has it right?. Sadly things change through the years.yes it may be smaller. But toys are starting to be like that. Like I said Least it has it.
I cant imagine how happy you are right now.
Mosquitor has always been my favorite figure. I have him on preorder with bbts.
The biggest reasons I haven't bought the deluxe He-Man and Skeletor is because the action features are too small and looks very cheap to me, plus the head sculpt of He-man is awful.
Despite the small action feature on Mosquitor, it doesn't look as bad as the other deluxe figures in this line.
Awesome figure, but the little window is a big letdown.
Love your channel. Great vids.
Picked up from target. Great figure !
Seriously one of my favorite figures from any mass-retail toyline in a long time. You just look at this guy on your shelf and want to play with him and watch that blood ooze like a little kid. I can't believe he's the only non-Skeletor or He-Man figure I've seen since this line staarted. Great review as always when it comes to you and Mosquitor, I hope my favorite dude Leech gets an awesome Origins fig down the line.
We knew it would come to this. So excited.
...That reminds me "Nemesis the Warlock". Cool figure and video.
Hey Dan, looks like Mosquitor will be female in the new Netflix series: BBTS has a listing for Mosquitara .
Found this one at Target tonight!
If I see this in store, I will definitely pick up. I can see why you like him.
By complete dumb luck I found mine at Target (which never has anything for the most part) I agree the blood window woulda been nice to have bigger but I think his body fits well. the more slender form gives off a better insect vibe
this dude finally shows up in retail today southern part...very nice figure
Vintage looks bloody, new one looks like strawberry juice especially with those 3 black dots… 😂 still cool though!
I JUST got this guy at target 🎯. They had 1 Ram-Man that I got and I picked up a Jitsu figure
I hope that in the turtles of grayskull line we get a mutated Mosquitor. Maybe he should jus get mutated into the playmates Needlenose mount and turn Buzzoff into Killer Bee. We need more horde members for that line since Hordak is the only on so far.
