The "raunchy" Go-Go's tell all in this scandal-filled cable TV biography of the band from 2000 called uh, "Beyond The Magic" or something like that. Let's just call it 'BTM' for short, shall we?
Features in-depth interviews with original band members as they dish the dirt on the band's dizzying ride to the top of the charts in 1981 to the depraved drug binges, jealousy and egos that resulted in the bands bitter break-up in 1985 through to the musical miracle that allowed the band to forgive the trespasses of the past and reunite to add a much-needed chapter to their musical legacy.

I worked the 1984 World's Fair in New Orleans and made sure I had the night off for the Go-Go's concert and perfect seats in the amphitheater. The show was amazing, and no one had any idea that the band was falling apart. The place went crazy in response to the delivery of quality sound and all the dance moves and antics we hoped to see in person, and the girls enjoyed themselves together as much as we enjoyed them. That night remains one of my favorite concerts of all time. So. Much. FUN!!!
I believe that amphitheatre was right on the river so it would have been cool if they sang old black water or rolling on the river or something.
I was there too & they doubled bill with INXS. '84 was an amazing year for concert tours. Culture Club, New Order, U2, The Smiths, Depeche Mode & even that little girl Madonna...................................& on & on & on. Tickets for $20-$25, AMAZING!!! Best year of music for that decade. Ticket prices these day are totally unworthy of any artist. Sorry.
They definitely deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. They were the first all girl group to write and play there own music to have a number one hit, Ground breaking. Belinda is the best female lead vocalist of all time and the drummer was real good. Just a bunch of talented women.

I used to sneak into my sister’s record collection and borrow their Go Go’s records. I had a crush on all of them. To me they were all beautiful.
I love most of what Jane has done solo. Definitely check out "Kissproof World."

Oh whoops, I didn't realize this was filmed in 2000. Okay, so now Jane doesn't look so young anymore but at the time of filming this documentary, she looked ageless. :P
Amen to that and a dam good drummer as well.
Why aren't these extremely talented girls in the Rock n Roll in the Hall of Fame yet? Let's face it, any of us born by a certain time absolutely loved the Go Gos!

They're in the RNRHF class of 2021.
@@ratagris21 Yes, it was about time when they did get inducted last year, 15 years after they were initially eligible. Still hoping Belinda will be inducted herself, for her solo career.

At least 2 of the girls were getting royalties, the manager that doesn't give themselves credits in the fine print is a good manager.

The painful reality is...Jane was and will always be jealous of Belinda! The truth hurts.....
The lead singer of a band should not be allowed to use her voice on a solo career without paying royalties to the Band she left. The lead singers voice is unique to the band while instruments are easily reproduced the drummer has no chance at a solo career. Belinda would be nothing without the song writers, I love her voice but she should do the right thing and split the royalties with the other Go Go members from her solo albums. The other go go members made Belinda what she is today and she should repay them.

yes they just finished their last tour in august 2016 they did a new album in 2001 like this says

Only Belinda cannot play an instrument, but can sing.
I seen her play the hardest instrument for anyone to play and i didn't stare that much or anything but i could tell it was very good .
All these ladies look remarkably well preserved. Charlotte looks and sounds great for someone who was such a serious druggie (compare to Ozzy Osbourne who sounds like a...well, brain-fried moron sometimes), Belinda Carlisle looks more stunning now than she did as a cute but chubby youngster, and Jane Wiedlin somehow does not age. At all. I don't know how it's possible. Men are always saying Susanna Hoffs doesn't age. While she looks good for 50, she does look old. Jane doesn't. Just wow.
