These are the very beautiful Iron Glass Lenses. They are a company that rehouses vintage lenses but also cine mod them too.

Where is the Lenses link?
Eeep. Thanks for telling me
Still no link or info about where you got these lenses? ✌️😱😱👍
I’m very ready for the current wave of “THEY USED THIS CHEAP LENS ON DUNE?! | Helios 44-2” to be over so we can get ready for the next round of every single camera gear RUclipsr making a video about it the next time it’s used in a blockbuster film.
Also I think the Tair 11-a doesn’t get nearly as much credit as it deserves vs the 44-2
Back In The Days.... We Used To Have To Watch The WHOLE VIDEO Just To Find Out IT SUCKED
I got scared when i hovered over the Video thumbnail and saw Hi***r. That was unexpected.
Well paced and solid video, as always enjoy. I am just learning filmmaking (from photography world), but went thru Tokyo (I live in Vietnam) and picked up few Takumars (love them) and have a friend that is studying in Russia and just completed my full set of Helios’. Probably have 10 or so lenses now and have spent less than 1K!
That’s awesome! Exactly the best way possible
I have serious gear envy right now
I'm proud to live with Iron Glass in one city! I only recently discovered that their lenses were used in DUNE 2. But with all respect to Iron Glass, we need to honor the true ancestor of Helios 44-2 which is Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 58mm f/2. Kudos from Ukraine!
totally agree, vintage lenses are awesome and you can get them super cheap aswell as long as your aware of the condition. i really like that you mentioned that you can just buy the gears and adapters yourself, its definently a cheaper option. enjoyed the vid
Yeah always the cheapest option to do it yourself. Some people just aren’t good at doing those things and prefer just to have it already done
Love those ironglass rehoused lenses, i have the 28mm f.14 and the 50mm 1.4 canon fd's and the Helios 44-2 i use between the A7iv and my OG Komodo, the 28mm is lovely on the S35
Oh damn! I’ve been thinking about getting some of the canon FD lenses. Heard they’re great
@@JasonMorrisphotocinema Sorry the 28mm is a f/2.8...but they are really nice! im presuming you have seen the MediaDivision video on them ?
these are the cine modded series, not the mk1s... the mk1s were a full rehouse with 95mm front diameters, but they had telescoping barrels.
I like to use the vintage lenses. I have a Helios and a Minolta that I enjoy using. Still need a lot of practice on the focus part while filming videos. I find that it is misleading to tell the true character of these lenses unless you try it for yourself and with your own equipment setup. Most video reviews will show the output with some color grading applied and in most cases makes the vintage lens output much better than what an amateur like myself can produce. I like the autofocus of modern lenses but in films it can miss the mark too! Thanks for sharing this information.
coming from super sharp and clear lenses, I try to recreate this look through editing, because i feel the imperfections make it unique, stylised and more interesting....less clinical.
Mb anyone know, do this lens with EF mount will work with bm6k super35?? 🤔
I own a set of these adapted to EF and can confirm they work very well but of course are cropped when used on S35 cameras
I am vintage therefore I like the vintage lenses.
😂😂😂😂😂
Are you using the standard lenses or the ones with the oval aperature ring?
Just standard ones. I wanted the vintage lenses to be exactly how they were built
thank you much. The lenses look really interesting. Unfortunately, there's a rather long lead time (understandable).
@@RobertMeyer-w5b if you can’t wait maybe t try get the vintage lenses off eBay and get a PL adapter and some gear rings and do a basic version yourself
I have Pentax SMC vintage lenses, 50mm f2 6 blades, 35mm f.2.8 5 blades. Super sharp lenses, bokeh ok, easy open and clean. MVP in quality and price.
Compared these with Samyang 50mm and 35mm T1.5 lenses, no notable difference with sharpness but lowlight and bokeh difference in certain scenarios. Size and weight between these is issue, Pentax more for easy traveling.
They sound interesting! Thanks for commenting this
