Been playing the german version of this game for years. We had to buy a new copy because we played right through the cards. Brilliant game, one of my favorites. Good review. It also seems that the version you are reviewing has a few new buildings that I have not seen before.
I love this game. I play it with my other 2 brothers. My brother use to use in 3 player the "Assassin-King strategy ", He would usually begin the round starting with the Assassin and would assassinate the king. I assumed that the assassin still kept the crown, since the king's turn was skipped. It turns out I was wrong.
Daniel Filippus I disagree entirely. To me, the dynamic of dual-turns and character denial during the character-selection process (in the case of a two-player game) turns the multi-player game on its head and offers a completely new level of depth. This game is by far the best one I know for two players that isn't exclusively a two-player game. It has many design and balance flaws, however, which I address thusly: boardgamegeek.com/thread/1397133/citadels-and-dark-city-expansion-rules-changes

I think you review games when you're together rather than just a single person reviewing the game. Thanks for the review

Nice review
HA! so much for never reviewing a Fantasy Flight game! This game got me started with board games! Bruno Faidutti is the best!
Thanks very much for this review, very useful and informative!
thanks for sharing?
I think you're missing a word there. I'm going to pretend it's "better."
Liked the presentation of the game, as I just bought it for myself, but have to say this.. the girl is so gorgeous I wanna die
I would never play this game with less then 4 players.
