First of all, guys - I'll keep an eye on my panning in the future. Secondly, I likely won't review the Carcassonne big box any time soon, since I don't have it. But I wouldn't rule it out in the future.
Nice review. Just one minor quibble: the tiles are indeed drawn randomly from the bag, but then they are placed on the center board in order. That's what those big "1-2-3-4" printed numbers are for! :-)
Great review Tom. I've had Alhambra on and off my wishlist for years. Now it's going back on. That Alhambra big box is usually quite a steal at Spiel in Essen, so I will probably just pick it up.
Also, if the player who is drawing the tiles is NOT forced to place them in order, he/she could quickly decide to put the random tile on a certain spot for his/her own convenience. For example: the player needs a Tower and has a lot of blue currency. So he/she draws a tile and -voilá- a Tower comes out of the bag. So what will he/she do if not forced to follow the order? Of course (if empty at that point) place it on the square next to the blue currency!
Are you ever going to do a review for Expansion 6: The Falconers? It's the only large expansion you haven't reviewed and the internet seems to be bereft of reviews for it. Please?!
does tom still enjoy/value this game? A lot of talk of newer games on dicetower, but barely hear big games like thsi mentioned anymore. I wonder if it's overshadowed by newer releases.
you said that you can take 2 cards if they dont add up to more than 5, but the rules read or take several money cards if they do not add up to more than 5. not the end of the world but it is different
After a few plays, you realize that if luck is against you and you can not buy multiple tiles in a turn or can not get multiple coin cards in a turn, you will loose. The last game I played, just before the second scoring I announced my prediction that I would loose. I played ever turn and well as I could; I did not give up, but my opponents were getting multiple tiles and cards on their turns and when it was my turn, I just didn't have the same choices. I could get 1 coin card or overpay for 1 tile. At the end, my score was half of my opponents' scores. Nothing I could have done differently, it was just dumb luck. Not fun.
medsas, its that bad. Actually it makes me sad because I can no longer watch Tom's reviews. I can listen but can't watch. I used to work for an editing house so I am very aware of camera angles and related stuff.
Oh man, vintage Vasel!

its great! missing a few expansions though
Helpful. Makes it look more interesting than what I thought from looking at the box

I didn't think it was so bad this time, but I agree that panning while zoomed in is a bad idea.

Need to replace the link to buy. It sends you to an unwanted site!

I couldn't hear the review over that shirt, holy crap!
You really gotta upload a better quality of this.

c'mon it's not that bad!
i love dice tower but the scoring of this game is so confusing
A Poker player would probably draw his gun if confronted with that argument! :-D
