They may just need a little more room. You could maybe look into building some simple raised beds for next season. They don't have to be fancy, you can even start looking for scrap wood from pallets to build them (there are free plans online). Potatoes you can even grow in big burlap coffee bags or a big tub/bin, you just keep throwing soil on top as the plant grows upwards. And Kale will grow in just about anything and keep coming back.
Thanks for the garden update. Last year you didn’t have any produce. This year, you made a meal with your potatoes. You’re improving each year. Keep going. Look at your little bean 🥺. I’m gonna call you Jack.
I have grown broccoli this summer- no flower head as of yet but discovered you can eat the leaves! Have put them in tofu scramble instead of spinach and was really good 😊
Love a good What I Eat As A Vegan video.
maybe too much water. Are the leaves yellowing from bottom of plant upwards? Peas/beans need to be picked as soon as ready or the plant thinks it has done its job and dies.
Nice to see ol Indie. I haven't seen him in a bit. I think "gardening with James Prigioni" is in a similar zone as you and he has a lot of good info, for trying to make stuff simple and effective for small areas.
The plants are not all dead, that counts. Good luck figuring that out. The shades of green in your yard, really stand out when it rains.
I think you may have had some overcrowding in the pots with some of your plants (trust me, I learned the hard way!). Most plants need way more space than you'd think. I don't even think you could plant ONE zucchini plant in a pot, much less several. Our plants are GIANT, so I think they just need way more dirt/compost. Cucumber plants... probably one per pot with plenty of soil, but even they might not thrive in a pot. Broccoli also needs a lot of space, they get huge! I think your plants were all just stunted from lack of space. I know it's frustrating this year, but all you can do is take what you learn and improve for next year! Also some years are just worse than others for one reason or another (weather, bugs, etc). Last year we only got like 2 zucchinis total (out of 3 or 4 plants), and this year we've gotten at LEAST 20 from the same number of plants, and they're still going too! Gardening can be rewarding but also very frustrating! Good luck next year, don't give up!
Also, beans and cucumbers like to climb, so try putting near a fence or trellis!
We have grown tomatoes, aubergines, cherries, chillies and more. Thank you for your garden update
Always a bummer when things aren't growing well. 3 of my redbuds just randomly died and a squirrel just took off with my little Hawthorn. But my dogwoods, peppers, and onions have done great
You need bigger space for them. Maybe make some raised beds? Make sure not to put mint or anything in them though! They’ll take over the entire thing lol.
I made the mistake of putting too much perlite stones in my soil, causes the water to drain too fast but I don’t know. Trial and error till you eventually nail it
Watching this on shrooms w video🌱💚🍄
Great to see Indy!!
Good video 👍 💙 some of my veg was pretty ordinary and slow for some reason (in Australia) 🤷🏻♀️. I have no clue what perogies are but it looks nice!! What is the random magical blue door there for? Lol it's so cute
Think your watering them to much try every 3 days or if you see thats its very dry. And looks like there not getting anof vitamins from the soil.
And they should be in separate pots/ in ground.
not necessarily @@user-sy8be5jc6z I have done stuff in pots with more than onee or 2 things, depending on the things, in a pot.
Sorry ur gardens not doing well. The pierogies w veggies & tofuitti sour cream looks really good.
U should invite (ok raw..?) for garden tips haha
Noice!
