- We are grateful for a bountiful growing season here in Alaska but with summer's end nearing, we switch gears to harvest mode. The consistent rain and cooler temperatures have produced some of our largest garden vegetables to date. Next up, preserving all of this wonderful food!
We appreciate you tagging along for our Alaskan adventure 😀
Thank you for watching and supporting our channel! 💙

There's such a heartfelt feeling when watching someone harvest their home grown produce. The only better feeling is harvesting your own. A feeling only gardeners know. 🌱❤🌱 Happy Gardening
I like your videos because you are REAL. No click baiting, just real content with no music. Love it. Keep up the great work. Your knowledge of so many things is amazing.
I could happily spend all day puttering around that garden.
Those giant turnips (which are glorious) can be sliced thinly in “rounds” and used as a faux tortilla. They pair really well with spicy veg based insides (also pickled stuff) or salted/seasoned fish.
The garden looks spectacular!! Its hard to believe how little time passes between planting and harvesting sometimes. Thanks for including us all.
I planted my first garden this year. I didn’t think anything would take. I’m shocked at how much is growing.
@@uhhokaywhatthehell8354 its lots of fun when that happens! I call my dirt therapy, it makes me happy. Keep at it. Its amazing how good it feels, huh? 🙃🌷
Does anyone know both of the peoples names, I love this channel but dont know their names
@@turkeyswissandcheddaronwho8203 Sure, this is Eric and Ariel’s channel!! Aren’t they two of the most awesome people ever!! ❤️❤️💙💚☀️
@@Darci. why thankyou my fine gentlemen
Your vegetable garden is amazing - can't believe what you grow up there in your short season!! Love it all and thanks for sharing!!
I agree
Damn
Short season with 20 hours of sunlight.
It’s all that sunlight 😊
Yaaaas! ❤️❤️
It cracks me up that I’m sitting in front of the AC, trying desperately to keep cool while you guys are in long pants, long sleeves and a jacket!
Never a moment to rest. But like the old saying goes, " get it while the gettings good". I don't see how Eric eats those peppers so easily. I can't seem to swallow hot stuff. So nice to visit you two. Thanks
Your harvesting videos are some of my favorites - seeing your hard work pay off is so vicariously satisfying
I have to agree 🙂
It’s making my mouth water and making me jealous. ❤ cabbage worms decimated my brassicas.
Nothing like making me feel like a failed Gardner than all these shots of “harvests” with massive bounties 😂😂😂
Hands down best homestead channel there is!!! I am never bored with you guys videos!! Even when I see the same things each year! NEVER GETS OLD!!
So agreed!!
That turnip was ridiculous!
Sooooo good
You are very enthusiastic, the garden is so lush
A peaceful and beautiful place where one can spend all the time happily
I think the combination of cooler weather with immense amounts of sun during summer is what makes things grow so huge up there, in such a short time. Here in North Texas, we can technically grow year round but by the time our days are the longest, they are also scorching hot and dry so the plants struggle. Kind of frustrating! Also, the pests are crazy here, especially the fire ants 🥴
What a bountiful harvest! Always love your vlogs - organic, real, drama free, and just refreshing entertainment. It makes this world feel “normal” for a special amount of time. Thank
you for sharing. Please post more and often. Best from Canada.
Ya’lls vegetables are simply beautiful. And, that sweet black cat is too cute mingled among the plants. You guys have the life. I know you both work extremely hard, but your harvest is your gift for having done so. Kisses to Bandit and Bo. ♥️🙏🏼♥️

@@di4085 - yes, I recognized this as a scam. These guys post these a zillion times to many people. This may even be a bot, so I simply ignore them.
The sounds of vegetables being harvested, cut and pulled out of the soil is so satisfying!! What a garden! I am very invious.
I feel like she should absolutely be a teacher. She’s so good at delivering her knowledge. I can watch y’all do this for hours!!
I am just amazed at the variety of veg you grow! Very impressive given you had to start all of these plants inside - well done guys!!
Lovely to see. My dad was a big time believer in a five year compost system. Only after 5 years of tender love and care would compost make it into his garden because he hated weeds. Man he had patience and grew a great garden like you do. Nice work and great feasting
What a magnificent harvest your lovely garden has yielded this year. I’m sure it’s because of all the love and effort you put in it. It payed of this year!
👏☺️
Paid off
It feels like there’s a rush to get everything harvested. A cold spell must be around the corner. Thank you for sharing the video of your beautiful garden. Your home and land looks great. I’m happy to see the boys and pretty kitty standing guard in the garden with the two of you. Thank you for sharing your videos, I do enjoy watching how much you have accomplished on your homestead.
Y'all's harvests are always so amazing! I've been in a slump this year. My hubby was badly injured at work in July and it sent me into a "who cares?' mood. I'm looking forward to getting the Fall garden put in. Besides the injury it has been so hot here this year as well. And when I say hot, I mean over 100 degrees every day for over 8 weeks with no rain. Since Spring we've only gotten just under an inch of rain. It's a depressing gardening year. So, I am so glad to share in the fruits of y'all's labor.
@autumn wishes - Oh! Bless your heart! I’m glad we both have good folks who share. ❤️ 🤗
I hope your hubby is feeling better, prayers across the oceans to you.
@@smiley9872 - Awe! Thank you so much! He’s has a very long road ahead of him but every day things get a little better.
I’m sorry, I hope both the weather and your husband get better with time!
Gorgeous wheelbarrow full of onions! I Think I’m in the same camp as you for planting onion bulbs instead of seeds next year too!! I got HUGE onions from the bulbs I planted this year!
Also, black cat surrounded by all that green! Great calendar photo! Gorgeous!!
(So happy there’s a new video!!) Love love love you guys!!! ❤️
Love watching you , planting your garden, harvesting the garden and your fishing! Love all the projects you do on your homestead! My favorite is when you start canning everything you grow. It is so interesting your way of life!!! If my day isn't going so well, I will watch you and it helps.❤🥰 thank you for letting us into your lives 🥰❤❤
Your harvest is bountiful, beautiful, and nutritious! It will bless you all year! Job well done, Arielle and Eric! So much organic greens to feed the chickens! @Simple Living Alaska
The paint job on the house adds an amazing back drop as your explaining your “green” pumpkin. Amazing garden.
Your summer garden harvest has become the greatest, most amazing realtime show on the box, ever, for me. There isn't anything better around.
What a wonderful harvest - I look forward to watching you guys prepare and can it all up. Nothing tastes better than the food you grow and harvest yourself ❤️
So cute to see the kitty 🐈⬛ in the garden with you guys. What beautiful green eyes.💕
Wow, you're garden looks fantastic! The garden seems to improve each year. It's obviously due to the time that the two of you put into the garden!
Wow. Your garden is an absolute revelation and a testament to your hard work. What a fantastic harvest you are getting. Well done.
Lovely flowers blossoming and vegetables look fresh.
wow what a great harvest thank you both for sharing it with us 😀
Your vegetable garden is beautiful, a wide variety, they will supply them for the winter, success! Hugs from Brazil!
Organic gardening at it's best! I hope everyone watching this amazing channel is trying it for themselves! All of your posts make me happy☺. Just beautiful!!
I’ve watched you guys grow since you moved to Alaska and I’m so proud of how far y’all have come and what you have learned. Thank you for sharing your journey with us!
Such a beautiful and lively garden! You can tell that the ecosystem is thriving from the love y’all put into it!
Absolutely beautiful harvests! I can only imagine how fantastically fresh and yummy it's going to be! HUGE veggies! Ariel should take pictures and list the top 10 largest items you have grown! As usual kiddos, wonder video.
Great harvest! I'm sure the canning aftermath was exhausting, but a full pantry is worth it! Yay!!
I've been sick at home, and I went back and watched episodes from 2018-2021, just like revisiting a favorite TV show. I truly enjoy how you welcome us into your daily lives, and can't wait to see more canning
It’s awesome seeing how happy you look in your garden Ariel. We can tell you love the garden and the earth. It is so beautiful too.
Interesting about the onions, I have used bulbs for years, but last year we started seed and onions were double in size...I guess everyone's garden is different...great harvest season you are having!
I just want to lose last weekend get more seeds and actually bought onion seeds which I didn't know that you grow from them. Just stocking up on seeds for next year.
What wonderful fresh beautiful veggies y’all got, y’all have a lot of work ahead of you. Love 💕 y’all! Loved seeing the kitty checking things out.
Watched the video in the first hour! Watching it again in the 7th hour of it's posting. Really enjoy watching the readying for fall harvest and canning. Every year since you began gardening in Alaska my opinion is that the garden has been amazing. Thanks so much for sharing.
Your garden is absolutely amazing! Thank you for Sharing!!! 😀😁
Awesome harvest so far you guys rock. I can't wait to see what you can and preserve from the garden. God's blessings❤
I love you both for all the work that you do a beautiful house you're built! And the love you have between you it's just beautiful! God bless you both on purpose!
WOW! Your garden looks amazing! I'm so happy for the two of you. You both work so hard every year on everything and it all comes through for you. You sure will have a lot to can or freeze. I love your furbabies! Thank you for sharing your beautiful videos with all of us.
We have been watching your progress over the years, we are so delighted with all you do. We pray over you both and i even refer to you as my Alaskan kids. Its such a pleasure to see your growth and how both of you adapt and overcome. Be blessed always, Mamaw Charri from Florida.
Wow! Your garden looks terrific. Such a great feeling of satisfaction when harvesting. Great video you two.
Love your garden harvests.💛🧡💛🧡
Jimmy Nardello's are my ALL time Favorite sweet! What a fantastic Harvest! "Blessings of Bounty and May Your Gardens and your Life always Bring You Joy, INSPIRATION and Abundance!" - Hope( & Mark)!💖💖
Love seeing Pepper supervise the harvest. I can't believe the size of those turnips . Hope you video cutting in to them. Seems like just the other week you guys were planting out the gardening now it's harvest time .
What a phenomenal garden! My father always grew about an acre and a half to feed us for the winter but one thing he always did was to wait until there had been a good frost before harvesting the turnips. It made them much sweeter that those harvested without a frost. Take care, I really enjoy watching your videos!
Yeah I just read that about carrots and I planted mine about a month ago along with some other seeds such as squash plants and snow peas. Don't know if they'll make it in time but I thought I'd give it a shot.
This reminds me of my grand parents - you got to make the best of what you have and you just did that.
I love your overgrown greenhouse, especially with the contrasting cat.
It just feels like home.
Thank you :)
WOW we just re-watched the video from when you first put this lasagne garden in, from bare rocky sandy soil to this garden of bounty. Hard work, sunshine and rain - you must be so proud of yourselves, incredible what you have acheived so far….
Yes,kids absolutely beautiful rewards from the garden, blessing
You two are awesome! And, what a harvest! Always amazed about the bountiful cool season crops you're able to harvest...understandably the Peppers and Tomatoes suffer a bit because of the short growing season, but I wonder whether you would have more success with those crops if planted less densely, and/or if you could maybe build a separate "hot house" just for those crops - could be something very simple, without a shade cloth, but 4 or 6 mill greenhouse covering, with enough spacing in-between plants to enable sunshine all around. Love you guys...keep giving us your updates, views and experiences of the great State of Alaska!
How wonderfully wild your garden is. I’m from Texas. Visited Alaska 23 years ago and could not believe the size of the vegetables. Blessings.
Thank you once again for another fantastic video, the garden and the green house were just stuffed with goodies, now comes the fun bit getting it all ready for winter . Lots love to you both and thank you for sharing . Lots love from Scotland 🏴 🇬🇧
Such a bountiful garden 💙💙💙 y’all shall be blessed this winter for sure. Will be fun watch you come up with ideas for those HUGE turnips!!! I’ve never seen any that large!!
Great to see your garden and its amazing produce. Always a interesting video
Fabulous reward for all your hard work. I could almost smell those onions as you pulled them out of the soil. Those vegetables are so beautiful in pile...looks like a box of jewels from nature. I love how Pepper supervised your work...so cute!
Yay! A trimmer! Even your weeds are huge! Imagine all the veggies that wheelbarrow has hauled. Potatoes were my favorites. The new black rooster is beautiful and that new black hen is lovely. Always a treat to see pepper, too.
I just love you both!! So proud if all your efforts! We call this weather fair weather!!
I can’t believe how good your brassicas look. Everything that isn’t under row covers gets decimated by bugs in my garden.
@@donaldmiller8629 unfortunately my small yard isn’t fenced in. I live right in the middle of my town on a main thoroughfare so it wouldn’t be safe.
Seriously this was really interesting. I wanted to see more. All your plants looks so great. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the veggies
Oh my goodness what an absolutely beautiful sky!! You have been blessed with a plentiful garden. All your hard work and dedication is paying off. Can’t wait to watch your canning videos
Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous garden! Marvelous stewardship! Blessings!
Amazing harvest!! Always so envious of your lifestyle it’s always inspiring.
Wow, I remember the size of some veggies when I went to the fair in Palmer. Amazing veggies, especially the cabbage.
Super sized turnips!! Awesome! Your garden is so prolific, really healthy plants and great harvests.
What amazing gardeners you two are. Beautiful specimens. Kitty Pepper among the peppers was a creative touch.
Spectacular harvest. Incredible the rewarding of your hard work… this is yet by far the best of anything I’ve seen, and to think it’s Alaska with such short time for planting and harvesting.
You are both a magnificent and refreshing example for the young. You are contributing in making this world a better possibility to live in.
all your videos are great but this one with the introduction of your cat and closing with the roosters singing, it just simply got a big laughter out of me. For me it’s good night.
Love you. Stay happy and safe 💓🙏
New sub here! Just thought I would let you know that you are living the dream of so many people. I love how thorough your descriptions are and how you have edited. You both seem very competent and love what you’re doing. I just hope you remember during any difficult times how much people appreciate everything you are doing and sharing with us. Absolutely love that you let us in. Best wishes.
I am so excited I found your channel! You two are an amazing couple and the life you have made in Alaska is incredible. I’m looking forward to binge watching your channel!
Your cat is living their best life!! 💗
Great harvest fruits looks very good, the weather is so unpredictable in Alaska. Would like to visit there someday
Your garden is amazing! Love watching you guys!
Love your videos ! Thanks for taking us to such amazing places!
I love the sound of roots ripping out of the ground and the crisp cuts of your vegetables! Only in my dreams would I ever achieve such an abundant harvest, but I get to experience it on your channel! Love from CA.
Amazing as usual guys!
What a lifestyle! Thanks for bringing us along!
WOW, that turnip is great. Wonderful garden.
Wow I never knew there were so many cabbage varieties! Your garden looks amazing for such a short growing time. The work to get it all harvest in time must be overwhelming at times. To hear winter is coming and it's only August 15th is crazy🥶! Look forward to seeing what you're canning.
Those are some of the best fed chickens in Alaska! Love your cat! ❤️
Looks like the bees are busy getting ready for winter also.
My gosh, those turnips are beautiful and Hugh! I love the splashing of color with the flowers in your amazing garden!
Your getting a great harvest, green fingers, we are just about to start planting our garden.
Do you get sad when it’s harvesting time? I get sad even when “collecting my bounty”…..it’s the end of gardening season. Love gardening season, hard to think it’s almost over already. Enjoying yours, thank you for sharing.
Such a beautiful garden ! You two know what your doing for sure & to grow so much in such a small time frame ! great job !
Can't wait to see what you do with the turnips. I grew them too and had great looking turnips but did not like the way I fixed them. I could watch a video from you guys every day. Thanks for the time you put into them.
I watch so many Alaskan homesteaders and none have a garden like yours. It’s amazing.
Thank you for such a lovely video. I love how you showed your harvesting using normal speed, which allows me to enjoy the harvesting as if it's mine. Enjoy your harvest and God Bless You!❤❤
Your harvest videos are always amazing, thanks for sharing!
What a great garden! Is any vegetables left over after canning, freezing and feeding the chickens? If so, do you share with neighbors or give to “food share” for other families?
They put up 100s of jars for the year, feed the chickens for free, and build their compost 💓
Wow, everything is humongous! What's the cats name please??
Absolutely AMAZING!
God Bless You!
enjoy your videos your garden is amazing have fun canning your veggies.
I can’t believe how fast the veggies grow up there, and the size of that stuff. Wow! Must be the massive amount of daily sunlight in summer. Here in AZ, we get plenty of sun, but it’s hot as hell here. Three crops in the growing season, water is the limiting factor.
Az sure is good for growing during the monsoons and also the low areas in the winter! When we lived there I loved the oranges in the winter!
