    OMG! Love your videos great content easy to understand very direct, relatable TY! I so mad i didnt think of this myself, I even considered dog walking but I have 2 toddlers so that's a no lol. THIS IDEA IS AWESOME! Out of let's say 50 ppl I know at least half if not more than them are dog owners (pet owners) and some have multiple dogs. My kids and I always cook or bake together this all just makes so much sense. I've been really trying to earn money from home, this has got to be it. Even the start up cost is great. Now it's just up to me to promote myself.
    I cant thank you enough!

    You don't mention the registration fees, per product fees, and analysis costs you pay each year to the state and analysis labs. This is not covered by the cottage laws. It's an expensive business.

    I'd love to do this, but in California, you can't sell pet treats made in a residence. You have to use a commercial kitchen. It's also $290 every two years for a license, and requires regular inspections. So...it's quite the process.

      I'm also in California. For years I've thought about finding ways to make cakes for dogs. I use to do it for people n they wanted me to make them for dogs. But then I hear about all these strick rules n laws that California have🤦🏻‍♀️

    Hi thanks for this. I have a feed lab and everything to send my treats to I am calling my local usda person this week to get a head start since I am recovering from ankle surgery I want to make sure I have things ready to go when I send the treats to the feed lab. Question is it better to dehydrate your treats first?or wait till you have some customers? I can't decide if I should send them into the lab dehydrated or not dehydrated? And with or without frosting to start?

Now after Covid you don’t need to or have to anyone can sale tacos,treat fruit,seafood etc of course once you grow and make savings can get a place to do this the right way who will invest sos much money in license ,rental space etc if don’t know if this works or not ??

    Do I need a license to sell my dog treats from home?

    • @hhoz3786
      @hhoz3786 2 года назад +5

      Hello, I have a small dog treat business. I live in the US and was required to attain two licenses to sell out of my home as per my state’s law. Additionally, dog treats are required to follow AAFCO guidelines, so all treat recipes need to have a nutritional analysis. This can be done through a food analysis lab. I also registered my business as an LLC before moving forward with filing and the necessary paperwork. It seems
      like a lot, but once you go through the process, it will get a whole lot easier! I would say to contact your state’s office that oversees pet treats and food licenses. They should be able to answer all the questions you have. I hope this helps. Once you launch your business, I would highly suggest to be a vendor at pop-up markets if you have any around you. It’s a great way to promote your product and meet other small business owners!
