    Thank you for this. I rang BT who told me I needed the digital handsets, they never said I could use my own phones. My elderly parents are also glad they don't need to learn about the digital handsets!

    I couldn’t see it for looking, and it was so simple in the end. I looked online for ages, and this was the fourth video I checked to find out how to connect, but the first one to mention the hidden socket. Thanks.

    Thank you so much for that, I had missed that socket on the back of the Hub totally! Now all working perfect

    Thank you so much. BT instructions were so long winded that I mentally filed them under, “will deal with tedious stuff later”, then didn’t. You’ve been a massive help. 😅Happy New Year to you and yours 🎉

    Thank you so much. You’ve been a great help. BT just gave a vague explanation. With your video, I was able to locate the area and peel off the sticker. Once again, your video was well received and explained.

    Thank you, this is such a helpful video with clear concise instructions BT should adopt it, their instructions were as clear as mud!

      Glad it helped, you would have thought they'd have put a yellow sticker over the connector with a 'peel here' message 🙄

    Thanks! I missed the sticker on the back. Really surprised that neither the BT website or YT video make the point that you have to remove a sticker.

    Am I right in thinking this only works when the copper phone line is deactivated and not before? Is the copper line deactivated at the same time you are upgraded to full fibre?

    Smart Hubs provided by BT as of 2024 no longer have a sticker over the green phone socket so are easily located.

    Glad l watched your video, l don't have the green socket.
    Been in contact with bt they say they will send bt hub 2 out to me.
    The one l had was a smart hub only.

    Will the phones connected to the back of the router still work once BT switch off the PSTN at the exchange which is due to happen in the no so distant future? i.e. is the socket on a router a converter?

    I recently transferred to Home Essentials 2. I'm more than happy with it, but the phone - oh my god the phone - it reminds me of the early mobiles and at 74 I want to stick to my old BT Relate phone 1998 model (or something like that). Can I do it? I've just connected the phone to the SH 2's phone socket, checked and it's properly connected, but no joy. Any suggestions If necessary I'll buy a traditional type phone, any recommendations

    I have the same fault showing even after i plugged it into the HUB. My BT phone refuses to work with the HUB 2. Do i need a new phone or do i have to wait hours on an online expert texting me back & forth?

      It does look like some phones aren't compatible as I've had similar messages. I know it's a pain doing the online chat but it might be worth checking with BT before investing in a new phone. Good luck.

    • @keltonheadmedia7106

      I think the majority of households will end up using mobile phones, Saying that, I have family members who live in Heysham who can't get a mobile signal. Any big switch over like this is never going to be simple for everyone, just hope BT have good help lines.

      @@keltonheadmedia7106 So BT have turned all of my existing phones into junk. Their letter tells me to go to their website to claim a free phone, I followed the link and the website tells me I am not entitled to the offer - really, really great!🤬

  • @LDcorx

    I don't get why broadband companies still do phones as part of deals, it's the year 2022 everyone has a mobile phone and don't use house phones.

    • @keltonheadmedia7106
      @keltonheadmedia7106  2 года назад +1

      We've got a home phone but don't pay for it unless we use it for outgoing calls, which we never do. Like you say most people use mobiles unless they can't get a signal.

      Not true many older households still use landlines

    • @arahant69

      If your in a poor mobile signal area landlines are handy.

    • @ianbigsand7
      @ianbigsand7 6 месяцев назад

      Loads of people and organisations have the old landline number, it's easy to forget to tell them all about having a mobile number.
