Ahh I watch Albert Finney and think of all the glory propping up these present, fame chasing, modern actors Finney was simply light years, ahead of all of them. The day he died, a light went out in the theatre. Think Orsen Wells. 🎉🎉
Along with Alan Bates, Peter Otoole, Tom Courtenay, Terence Stamp, Richard Harris and Burton and Stanley Baker who arrived slightly earlier than the rest, - a group of stage and film actors which will never be surpased.
I watched Saturday Night Sunday Morning before this and then watched this. Brilliant actor and apparently a great guy too .. all reviews he said here, good, bad or indifferent, were pointless. You just try to do the best work you can do. He refused a knighthood in the early 2000s because he said it perpetrated "snobbery". Arthur Seeton still lives! God bless.
An extraordinary actor. Ian Nathan; One of the narrators of this documentary is rather surprised at 7:55 that cinema never showed the rawmess of life nor mentioned things like having an abortion before "Saturday Night Sunday Morning" in 1960. He forgets that most people just wanted to forget the horrors of WWII and loved seeing light comedies of the all's well that ends well variety and it was not until 15 years after the war's end that people slowly began to look at more realistic movies. An exception is Italy where immediately after the war Vittorio de Sica and Roberto Rosselini among other were filming realistic drama.
It would be great if when people make documentaries and movies they would sometimes have the volume of the music down because for whatever reason when it goes on to venues such as you to the music is usually louder and makes it harder to enjoy what they are saying
My favorite Albert Finney films are 1: Tom Jones 2: Scrooge 3: Annie 4: Murder On The Orient Express 5: Big Fish 6: Erin Brockovich 7: The Dresser 8: Shoot The Moon 9: Skyfall 10: Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride

He reminds me of Richard Burton ,they are very alike physically and in acting!!!
Such a beautiful career and such a wonderful actor. Every single one of his films are interesting.
Finney OToole & Scofield are my personal pick of the greatest English actors. I know Peter is of Irish heritage.
Thank you from Moscow.
That's very cool , greetings from Dallas

Wonderful actor and yes, he was a handsome fellow as a young man...Loved him as Scrooge...and as W.C. in The Gathering Storm...
The more I see of him, the more I like him :)
What a lucky Guy ... and brilliant too 🥰🌹
Excelente ator. 👍

Nagyon szerettem öt.
You overlooked Finney’s best gumshoe roles-Gumshoe (1971) and Wolfen (1981).
Yes Wolfen is a great film. You've got a slightly chubby out of shape middle aged Finney who still manages to be sexy and cool.
Ian Nathan says "kind of" 52 times.
He's no Alan Bates though.
Don't make'm like dat no more.
