I love it! Colors are def defined, and orange is bright, that charcoal was the perfect amount!!! The black is amazing! I can almost smell it from here!!! ☺👃
Thank you 🧡
This one is such a great morning soap.
Awesome colors combination Keeley, it looks terrific
Thank you 🧡
Menthol in a hot summer soap would give such a lovely cooling shower❤️❤️👍🏻
Most definitely! I've been using it and I think it will be great for both winter and summer 🧡 nice fresh feeling
Oh, I just love this. The black is so shiny and the orange is SO orangey and there is just enough of it in the soap to make it look wonderful.
Thank you 🧡
Its definitely a new favourite
Such simple but beautiful colour combination and the swirl turned out amazing
Thank you 🧡
The wispy swirls are so pretty 😍
Thank you 🧡
Awesome swirls! Beautiful soap.
Thank you 🧡
Gorgeous😊 that is a really nice orange colour. I bet it smells great
Thank you 🧡 its smells so fresh
This would be perfect for Halloween! Love it!
That it would 🎃
Beautiful, just loved the swirl with that orange. I hope you and your family are staying safe and well :-)
Thank you 🧡 we're doing well and pottering along. Hope you're keeping well too
The swirls are definitely wispy!
Thank you 🧡
Looks lovely!
Thank you 🧡
Such a beautiful fragrance combination!!! It sounds extremely lavish and the colors go perfectly with it!! You are right, the swirls are wispy and delicate, you never over-do the hanger swirls, and I LOVE that about your soaps!!! Another amazing soap Keeley!!! Have a great day, stay safe and healthy!!
Thank you 🧡
It's so hard to know when to stop swirling 😆
So pretty!
Thank you 🧡 this one proved very popular
So elegant❣️
Thank you 🧡
Lovely soap Keeley. You are lucky being in a warmer climate. Here in Canberra, it is already getting to single digits overnight and some days, mid-high teens, so just keeping my hard oils liquid is a task in itself...lol. Hoping you are well and keeping safe. :)
Thank you 🧡
We've been watching the weather and how cold it's getting. Our weather is weird - we have a couple of days at 25°C then it sky rockets back to 32°C
Hope you're keeping safe too
Absolutely beautiful contrast, love how it just pops! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you 🧡
It's beautiful! Love the contrast.
Thank you 🧡
I love it very very nice
Thank you 🧡
Great combo! Love the swirls!
Thank you 🧡 it smells so clean and fresh
I made some peppermint charcoal soap and used it today! Renamed .... my "tingly" soap!😍
Its such a great feeling 😆🧡
What a great mix. The two colors came out really nice! I never force gel mine either. Really found I don't need to. Put it aside and cut it next day. Found my colors are nice and pop so I don't have to go through all the trouble. 👍. Wishin for Smell-a-vision. Blessings 💕
Thank you 🧡
Hopefully will get smell-a-vision one day 😆
I love this!!! and you!!!this is "next on my To Do list!!! Thank You!
Thank you 🥰 it really is a great combination. Great morning shower soap
Beautiful! I love the contrast. I like black with other colors, I should try a charcoal soap with a colored swirl. Good job!
Thank you 🧡 I love the look of black soap and colour always goes well with it.
Oh my I want a bar of this can’t wait for it to be available. I have asked before but have you or are you going to do a baby soap for babies ? And a baby soap for babies with allergies
This one is available now 🧡
I'm almost ready to do my baby style soap but it will take several months to cure.
Soy and Shea so exciting can’t wait for it thank you
Beautiful soap. So tempted to replicate a similar batch as I cross over to 2024.
Can you please confirm that menthol crystal is 2% of oils. Example if my oils is 500gms the menthol crystal is 10gms?
Thanks in advance.
Thank you 🧡 yes you can use 2% and your calculations are correct
Question regarding charcoal. I made up my soap batter and divided it into two portions after adding the lye. In one portion, I placed charcoal, the other had dried calendula petals and a small amount of white clay. Essential oil was the same for both....lavender. peppermint and may chang just a dribble, not anything like the recommended soapcalc level. I put the charcoal layer into the mold and topped it with the calendula portion. The next day, I noticed that the calendula layer had not set up beyond a very soft gel. When I tried to cut through the charcoal layer, it was very hard and brittle and broke the wire. I couldn't cut it. So it seems to me that the calendula layer was lye light and the charcoal layer was lye heavy, even though the lye was added prior to dividing the batter. I am wondering if the charcoal drew all the water and lye out of the calendula layer as it was setting up. I added the charcoal dry, so now I am wondering if I should infuse it in oil or water before adding it. Do you have any thoughts?
I don't believe it has much to do with your additives as I've done similar and not had an issue. I would suspect that when you initially poured the lye and oil then mixed, it may not have Emulsified. If the oil and lye haven't Emulsified before separating for colours etc, it would be possible for the soap to be lye heavy on one part and soft on another. I've had a soap where I didn't mix for long enough and the soap wad strange when I cut it. I would rebatch it
Thanks for your reply. I have rebatched it and incorporated both layers. It's looking good and the pH seems to be okay. The same thing happened with a maca cacao soap I made. The maca got brittle and hard and the cacao stayed soft. The mistake I made there was that I used raw maca which cooked during saponification and incorporated all the water in the mix. I cook it now prior to adding it and haven't had a problem with it at all. That's why I am thinking it's an adsorption issue because I am sure that I emulsified...but who knows sometimes. I have not had this issue with other charcoal soaps I have made. I have just bought this new bag of charcoal and I was wondering if charcoal can vary in it's hygrophilic properties.
Não vi quando colocou os cristais de mentol
It's in with the essential oils
Where do you buy your orange 10 fold please?
I get mine from Heirloom Body Care 🍊
Does the charcoal soap stain the tub or shower?
No - I've not had an issue. I get a little grey lather but not staining
I ordered 10x orange oil from Arizona Soap Co. after watching your video. His prices are wonderful. Check him out if you haven't already.
@@marykidd5666 glad you found it at a great price. I'm in Australia so unfortunately it wouldn't be cost effective for me.
so 2% crystals to oil weight. I've been wanting to use these just didn't know how.
That's right, you don't need much but keep in mind it does cause acceleration 🧡
So there isn’t an actual recipe? Just percentages? Bummer!
A formula is far more useful to you so you can make it the size you want. If I gave as a recipe, it would never be the right size and if you can't work it out with percentages you won't be able to upscale or downscale a recipe to exactly what you need.
I’m super brand new but want to make this, and have no idea how to convert😢
@@menotyou1161 It is so important that you can convert so you can understand what are good and bad recipes and which ones are safe to use and which are not - there are hundreds of unsafe recipes out there using ingredients at to higher than recommended usage rates because people don't know how to calculate them. There are plenty of calculators online on how to convert percentages as well as many videos that show how to work it out. I am sorry, but I strongly believe that in order to make safe products, you must be able to work with formulas.
@@SoyandShea thank you for kind correction and direction. I have spent time learning. I used your formula but substituted lard for the palm oil (could not find it locally, in my small alaskan town). Grateful, so thank you
@@menotyou1161 I'm so pleased you are learning. It will also help you formulate your own recipes in the future. Lard is a great substitute for palm. Have fun with it.
