Thanks so much Tami, yes it has been fun experimenting, I am going to continue as I'm still quite novice at the whole natural thing. I wonder how much cayenne you'd need to stop sagging :-)
At first I thought you were posting your video early this week but nope...it is Friday!! LOL. I think I lost a day somewhere! LOL So beautiful! I love the colors! I have been curious about getting colors this way so I am going to purchase that book. The book will tell us how long to wait before we can use it and how often to shake it? Another beautiful piece of art Lisa. Thanks for sharing your love of soap making. 💚
Hey Karen. I've been so pleased with the colours, with the hot infusion you can use them as soon as they're done (i.e after the 4 or so hours) and cold anything from 8 weeks, but you can let hem sit longer, and yes the book goes into all that sort of stuff. I've found it really interesting :-)
Stunning. I have Jo's book, it's very informative and have made several natural soaps following her advice. Don't turn out as beautiful as yours though ☹️. Practice, practice, practice, I'm sure I'll get there one day 🤗 Oh, my order came through today, can't wait to play 😀

Electronics are not reliable, so I love having books for my shelf. But alas, I know I will enjoy it anyway. Thanks for sharing. Blessings 💕👍💕
Cool. These colors would be great for candy corn Halloween soaps. Don't know if you have candy corn in England. They're truly awful to eat, but they're pretty to look at and classic in the U.S.
Hi Lisa, I found that most of the infused oil CP soap is usually in one color or reluctant patterns. Why does your soap have apparent swirl and no bleed?
Nice! I'd love to see you do the more difficult colour(s) blue and purple. So: woad, indigo and alkanet root. It's been years since I experimented with those. Especially alkanet root is interesting. Too bad you can't share pics here, but if you'd like to see those, let me know. ☺
Hey Corry. I have an Alkanet infusion made and I'm planning to do something with that and indigo very soon. I don't have woad as it is so expensive here that makes it infeasible to use in soap without making the bars really expensive.
Hi again, I also noticed that the title of this video mentions Annatto and Tumeric, when you actually use Paprika. Not sure if this matters much but just thought I'd let you know. Cheers
Enjoying your videos. Just found you on RUclips. Where did you get your soap bar cutter? The cutter i have isn't as clean and accurate as yours. Thanks for the videos. I will certainly learn from them. USA
Oh my days!!!!......adore this. When will this be ready for sale Lisa if you are putting it in your shop? Little question.....have you had to have another assessment completed for the natural soaps? Its the only problem when you want to change it up a bit isn't it. I bet this smells divine 😍
HI Tracey, thanks so much, it will be in the shop mid September. Yes I have had to get a new assessment for this, well in fact any soap I want to sell that changes and fragrance or mica etc. I'm building up a nice bank of assessments, investing in them as I go along. I'm up to 32 cold process soap variants now, a nice mixture of mica / FO soaps and the natural ones as well, so that will keep me busy.
I Dream In Soap that’s brilliant Lisa. You have got a good portfolio of assessments there, I better get my order in quick then lol. Keep doing what you are doing, it is fascinating.....Happy Soaping 💐
Hey, lovely to see you again. I do think some natural colours fade faster than others, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that these are fine, but the testers did really well all theough the cure stage.
Hi Lisa! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge, you are an amazing teacher. I do have a question, I wonder if the infuses oils still have a sent of those botanicals. My apologies for my bad english, I am a french Canadian.
Fantastic Lisa! I’m just so tickled you’re always experimenting...putting that deep thinker to work is truly fun & engaging. Since these soaps are all natural, will you have to get any other permits to sell in the UK? I sure hope not 😉 Thanks for inspiring us all. Ann
Hi Ann, thanks a lot. I have had to pay for a cosmetic assessment for them, just like any others, but as they share the same base recipe it's not a problem, the infused oils just count as one of the extra additives, so instead if say a mica colour as one of my extra, I added however many grams of paprika infused in how much oil taken from base olive oil (botanical strained out) and then the chemist works out what's actually in your formulation from that, then do the same for the annatto.
Great video! I'm so happy I found your channel. I know about using paprika as a colour for a while (never really looked up how). I'm very curious whether I could even use such a soap since I'm allergic to paprika.
HI, so pleased to see you. Ooh I wouldn't like to advise on allergies as I reallly don't know if it would affect you. I'd probably say be safe and not use it. I'm allergic to coffee myself, so I don't make or use coffee soaps, I don't know if they would be ok or not, but prefer to be safe.
Ooh how lucky. With the paprika is forms into a pretty solid lump at the bottom of the jar, so you could just pour the oil our carefully, I did actually strain mine just to make sure there were no specks. I did strain the annatto, but that's fairly big seeds, so very easy to catch everything. I hope yours turns out brilliantly.
Hi Lisa , you always have such lovely music to accompany your videos. Who was the female artist that was playing in today’s video? I love how technical you are thank you
Can I ask is olive oil in the uk always that pale ours here down under is much darker. Those are great natural colours, I’ve been looking how to use and getting infused oils ready, but haven’t made these two yet, definitely search fir anatto now. Love the music too
Hi Lisa, another beautiful soap. I have a technical question regarding the use of oil infusions and safety assessments. I'm very confused about how to measure the amount of botanical - if my assessment allows upto 15% of my base recipe in additional ingredients and my base recipe has say 50% of olive oil, how do I work out how much olive oil I can substitute with the infused oil? and how do I work out the original concentration of the infusion? Hope this is clearer than mud! Thanks
Hi Jo. I always infuse my botanicals at a rate of 15:1 weight wise (seems to work for most things). So I then decide how much of my soap I want as that colour, so lets say I wanted a 3rd of a 1000g batch (oil weight). I would the write on my assessment 22g annatto seeds infused in 333g of oil. Oil taken from base oil. Oil strained and seeds removed. You can decide if you want to remove the botanical or not, it may vary depends on what it is, but make a choice and write that on your assessment. They will then work out the necessary things for your report. So basically by using oils from your base, you are only adding the annatto as an extra, not the whole infusion. Hope that helps
@@IDreamInSoap That is so helpful Lisa, thanks so much for your quick and thorough reply. So if I understand you correctly, for a series of natural soaps, all using the the same base oil / lye recipe, the botanical used in the infused portion would be considered a variation rather than a new recipe each time, and the limitation is that the original amount of the botanical used should not exceed 15% of my total oil weight (the assessment package I'm considering allows 5 additional additives of upto 15% of base recipe). Thankyou again.
@@IDreamInSoap Hi again, just following up on the earlier maths. I do want to get this right. It seems you divided the hypothetical 333g (1/3) of total oils by 15 to get your amount of Annatto seed, but shouldn't the divisor be 16? IE seeds 1 part + oil 15 parts = 1:15 ratio. I am ready to be corrected if I've got my basic maths wrong here! Thanks again.
@@jotaylor8548 HI Jo, in theory, yes you do end up with 16 parts overall, but the standard way when you do a mixture would be to say the quantities of each thing, so I do 15 parts oil to 1 part botanical so if I was making 1500g oil I would add 100g botanical. Bera in mind you can use what ratios you like, this is just my ratio, you should play around and test and see what works best for you, this is not a specific measurement that needs to be followed. When measuring out the oil to use I would still use 15, not 16 as my botanical content is strained out
These 'folded essential oils' sound so interesting! I've not seen them on any soap making supply websites, just normal essential oils. Do you reccomend any sites? Thank you for your super helpful videos. New subscriber here!
Hi Quiet Belle. I'm not sure where you are based, but I'm pretty sure the major soap suppliers like Brambleberry sell them if you're in the US, I'm in the UK and I get mine from the Soap Kitchen. I hope that helps Best wishes
Beautiful!!! And thank you for explaining the 10-fold process of the essential oil! 🤩 I apologize if this is a silly question- but was the soap at all “tingly” on the skin from the paprika?
Also- if you or others used the soaps, were there noticeable differences in your skin over time from using the herbal infused oils? Or was their use mostly for the sake of having the natural coloring? Either way- this is all very fascinating! Thank you for taking the time you did to create & document the process! Truly fascinating! 💖💖
I think with a lot of things in soap the benefit rarely come into the final bar as saponification is so harsh on the ingredients, so usually when you hear people talking about the benefits of an ingredient, apart from it being illegal to make any sort of claims, normally those benefits don't come through and if any did they would be unlike to have an effect as soap's a wash off product.

Thanks so much Tami, yes it has been fun experimenting, I am going to continue as I'm still quite novice at the whole natural thing. I wonder how much cayenne you'd need to stop sagging :-)
@@IDreamInSoap I don't think there's enough in the world. Giggles!
I'm a new follower. Your soaps are stunning!!!
Thank you so much Melody, and welcome new subscriber, I'm so pleased you have subscribed. I hope you enjoy my channel 😊
I Dream In Soap I took a soap making class about a year ago. Now I'm hooked! 😁 I'm going to attempt some of yori designs.
Great Video, and great information.
That's so kind of you to say and hello, lovely to see you Chass, thank you so much 😊
amaising .. lovely soap could you please include recipe
How good is that ! Wonderful video as usual Lisa! I love both designs. I try both for sure! ( I
bought the book too!)
Thank you so much Mike, ooh good luck with yours I hope they come out well :-)
Thank you Lisa !!
Gorgeous Lisa, I’m going to give it a go.
Ooh excellent, have fun :-)
Thanks so much Jackie, I've really enjoyed learning about the natural colours, still very much a beginner though. ooh so glad your thngs have arrived, have fun with them
Ab gorgeous ,Luv the the herb oil infusion, must have a go, have done nettles, it comes out speckly LOL! thank you Lisa x
Thank you so much Summer Breeze, that's very kind of you.
great job lisa!
Thank you so much
Awesome!!!! I actually love the first loaf you cut 😍 But the second loaf looked great and ith the heart shaped swirls. ☺ purchased the book although searched for non ebook couldn't find it. Electronics are not reliable, so I love having books for my shelf. But alas, I know I will enjoy it anyway. Thanks for sharing. Blessings 💕👍💕
HI Cheryl, thanks so much, yes the book is only available as an Ebook, which for me boing in th UK was great as I could actually get it straight away.
Thanks for the headsup... I ordered it. Can't wait to read it. 😊
Cool. These colors would be great for candy corn Halloween soaps. Don't know if you have candy corn in England. They're truly awful to eat, but they're pretty to look at and classic in the U.S.
Thanks so much Rustian, no, we don't have it here, but it seems a huge thing in the US, good to know we're not missing out on a taste sensation.
Would love to know who the vocalist is on your tracks. Mesmerising and soothing vocals
Hope you enjoyed the Alkanet root testing!? That's been my favourite 😁
Ooh yes, I think it's going to be my next natural soap
Hi Lisa, I found that most of the infused oil CP soap is usually in one color or reluctant patterns. Why does your soap have apparent swirl and no bleed?
Hi, may I ask.. what's the point of putting the soap in the oven? I'm really confused right now. Thank in advance
Cheers
Oh goodness me, I never noticed that, how silly, thank you so much for pointing that out
Enjoying your videos. Just found you on RUclips. Where did you get your soap bar cutter? The cutter i have isn't as clean and accurate as yours.
Thanks for the videos. I will certainly learn from them. USA
Thank you so much Alice. I actually made my cutter myself, so unfortunately I can't give you a link to it.
Keep doing what you are doing, it is fascinating.....Happy Soaping 💐
super joli bravo
Merci beaucoup :-)
I did a soap that was colored with spirulina powder a while ago. The color faded on me as it cured. I may have to check out this eBook.
Hi Nathalie, your English is very good. No the infusions never have a scent in the final soap, it's always the same for any infusions
Fantastic Lisa! I’m just so tickled you’re always experimenting...putting that deep thinker to work is truly fun & engaging. Since these soaps are all natural, will you have to get any other permits to sell in the UK? I sure hope not 😉
Thanks for inspiring us all.
I Dream In Soap, you’re amazing...so much to think about, manage & produce. I think you’re the 🌈....simply amazing!
Thanks once again Lisa .. great tutorial beautiful soap ... thanks for sharing ... I shall puddle off and buy jos book ... 🌈🌈🧼🧼🐝🐝
I love that phrase 'puddle off' :-)
Great video!
Magnificent ❤️🌹
AW, s thank you so much that's really kind of you to say and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment for me :-)
Hello Lisa. Your soap looks lovely with the natural colors. Please tell me what mold you used. Thanks.
Thank you so much Faith. My mold is from custom craft tools, they do some fantastic molds, I love them.
What a timely video! I was thinking of doing an all natural soap that was colourful for my sister! Did you strain the powder from the oils?
Ooh how lucky. With the paprika is forms into a pretty solid lump at the bottom of the jar, so you could just pour the oil our carefully, I did actually strain mine just to make sure there were no specks. I did strain the annatto, but that's fairly big seeds, so very easy to catch everything. I hope yours turns out brilliantly.
Hi Lisa , you always have such lovely music to accompany your videos. Who was the female artist that was playing in today’s video? I love how technical you are thank you
Thank you so much Debbie, I do love that song, it's called 'Way, way back' by Lvly
Can I ask is olive oil in the uk always that pale ours here down under is much darker.
Those are great natural colours, I’ve been looking how to use and getting infused oils ready, but haven’t made these two yet, definitely search fir anatto now. Love the music too
HI Tassie girl, our standard olive oil is darker too, this is a version we can get called 'light in colour'
Is there a blog or website that I can read this process. This is beautiful!
I'm not aware of one. Sorry
When measuring out the oil to use I would still use 15, not 16 as my botanical content is strained out
Lovely video. Gorgeous soap! Where do I find that soap mold in the US?
Thank you so much. The mold is from Custom Craft tools.
I hope that helps
Best wishes
Beautiful!!! And thank you for explaining the 10-fold process of the essential oil! 🤩 I apologize if this is a silly question- but was the soap at all “tingly” on the skin from the paprika?
Also- if you or others used the soaps, were there noticeable differences in your skin over time from using the herbal infused oils? Or was their use mostly for the sake of having the natural coloring? Either way- this is all very fascinating! Thank you for taking the time you did to create & document the process! Truly fascinating! 💖💖
Hi NLP, no, the soap isn't tingly at all, and it's a very sensible question :-)
I think with a lot of things in soap the benefit rarely come into the final bar as saponification is so harsh on the ingredients, so usually when you hear people talking about the benefits of an ingredient, apart from it being illegal to make any sort of claims, normally those benefits don't come through and if any did they would be unlike to have an effect as soap's a wash off product.
