not a single song on Bonnie and Clyde is bad and each of them beautifully tells the story in an effective and elegant way, this show deserved so so so much more
Well I'm not the person who posted that first comment but she used to be involved with Chanhassen... she was working there when she got her role as Sandy!
It's a mix of the critics hating him ever since "Jekyll & Hyde" and the fact that the Broadway run of his shows always tends to be the worse versions of said show
Wildhorn's music is often just as lousy as the books. Jekyll's music is so repetitive and only a few songs in the show are actually decent (admittedly, the show retains too much of it's original opera form and that causes problems). Wonderland started out with great music, but by the time it hit Broadway the best songs had been cut or changed. That's his other problem - he constantly rewrites his shows to the point that they all have at least two different versions, usually more.
Bonnie & Clyde was was by far the best score of this season.
Because critics are afraid to admit his music is beautiful. most of them are jealous. (Was told this by a NY news publisher)
Nick Rapuano Critics don’t like the idea of 2 robbers in love having a musical
