Like mistaking a normal word for a word that's relevant to your obsessive interest. Someone who is really into the show MASH might say "Oh no. The brainrot got me. Someone asked if I wanted mashed potatoes and the MASH theme song started in my head" Your brain has been rotted and now all you can think of is [obsession]
3:14 - "Rizz Me" was brilliant. Every new generation has their own slang, and every old generation (and many of the young generation too) find it confusing and/or annoying. I encourage EVERYONE to look up a fun song from 1943 about the slang of that era: "Murder, He Says" - I like Dinah Shore's version best, personally, but Betty Hutton also does a fun version. (For context: in 1940s slang, "murder" meant, like, "cool, awesome, lots of fun, very positive" where we might say "far out," or "sick," or "fire," depending on which generation we're from.). The song is told from the point of view of a young woman, whose boyfriend insists on speaking almost entirely in slang- terms which she either does not understand, and/or just finds annoying- and she is getting fed up, wishing he would just speak in plain English. Every generation goes through the same thing!
Is it me or is the show seeming more prepared/less improvised? Panelists looking at notes more, some of the bits seem really rehearsed, etc. Takes some of the fun away IMO. (Not at all talking about opening monologue changes. That's so good!)
