I'm really happy that I can say that this is actually my job. We don't use our Spot for dangerous missions, but we show people how these robots can be used in real life and we also entertain young enthusiasts with help of Spot, so they'll become more interested in this industry and maybe one day will make useful robots and other tech gadgets, that will be as helpful as Spot can be now.
What a world we live in.

Sadly humans will always find a violent way to use pretty much anything if it suits their cause, thus the hideous mess on our planet since for ever.
The human animal is a destroyer of anything & everything it sees as standing in the way of anything it desires regardless of cost to its own species or others it chooses to abuse for food etc.

No, current AI does not possess self-awareness. It does not take into account if it will be destroyed in the future, as its purpose is to fulfill the request of the user, not do anything else. As I understand it, this IS in fact detrimental to creating a human-like AI, but without drastic modifications to how we create them today it will continue to just be a mirror, reflecting the input it receives in the form of an output.

I may be too focused on fire extinguisher part, but if i were to say anything about such usage, i really think not. Yeah sure you're not risking any lives by sending a robot, but it can't really reach places faster than a regular firefighter would, and in case that the flame creeps up on it, your average electronics are very much not heat resistant. Also, speed at which you have to react pointing a nozzle at sudden flares.
In the end, it's just easier to flood everything with water than use not yet extremely reliable drones

So has anyone figured out how to deploy a Spot out of something that can drop off aircraft hard points? Or maybe some packaging that could be rolled out the back of a truck? The initial stages of deployment being show in this video still seem a little awkward given the types of missions being suggested.

We use these in place of humans because we value human life more than machines. How long until AGI has rights and this is no longer the case? How long until humans are considered the more disposable of the two because we are not as intelligent as AGI? Questions to ponder..

Cyber dogs could be used for reforestation in region where already erosion and ground problems around planet. For example could be used for Mexico country and creating sanitation system in it by using robots, like experiment for creating benefits by robots for planet ❤

Have found that in US as in world also exist many places out of usual sanitation system , no water. And if robots will be trained to in US , Mexico, Africa to change things, it will be much more beneficial for all companies if robots will help to create nessesary things.
