    Hello! in Italy it is said not to wash them (mushrooms) but to gently brush them with a brush to remove the ground that has remained attached. it is said that we wash both the taste and the vitamins, we consider the mushrooms sponges full of processed water .. and almost always they are cooked it is rare to eat them raw. ciao!
    try to cut them as you do, toss them in a pan with a little olive oil and a peeled and crushed garlic clove. you make them go for a while and add to fade a little bit of white wine of low quality to give a bit of acidity, when it is evaporated spread the fire and we throw on 2 chopped parsley leaves (if you like), they are called mushrooms trifolati ;)

    Fantastic!!! Thank you so much for sharing. Great omelet recipe and simple. I already have silicone bakeware my bakeware is larger. Can I use my own silicone bakeware to make omelet? Will I need lid on top of my bakeware? My bakeware size of regular pie plate with higher sides.like deep dish pizza pan.

    I don't wash mushrooms, but I "dust" them with a tissue to remove the soil or whatever is on them. For me, mushrooms must be firm and dry. Toby is "Wonder Dog." If I ever stop commenting to your videos you will know that I died of cholesterol clogging my veins from eating all of your egg recipes. Ha ha. I will sell my soul for eggs with a runny yolk. Thanks for another great video (with Toby).

      Dori, Welcome back, always nice to hear from you. I know you're not supposed to wash mushrooms, but I just can't help myself because I did some research and found out how they are produced. I wash them briefly under cold water and try not to waterlog them. I hope you don't surrender to gravity because of cholesterol, although now you have a very easy poached egg recipe for those yokes you like. Thanks for the kind words and your feedback, Mike ☺

    ..eating more good breakfasts now, i hate cleaning frying pans..lol. i wash mushrooms, just to get rid if loose soil..i might have separated the eggs first and included the yolks in with the cheese mix.(suggestion)

    • @KitchenTipsOnline
      @KitchenTipsOnline  5 лет назад +1

      Bob Joncas, Hey Bob, excellent suggestion about separating the yolks ahead of time. I wish I would have thought of that. But I guarantee you next time I'm going to use 3 eggs instead of 4, and then use the yolks from the separated eggs. Thank you so much for your feedback, Mike

    Mike, great video, as always!! Love Toby!! I want to know how you get your photos , etc. to stick to you stainless steel Frig doors ???? Magnets, tape .... what ever I have tried doesn't stick.... HELP!!!

    • @KitchenTipsOnline
      @KitchenTipsOnline  5 лет назад

      Joan Pickart, Welcome back, always nice to hear from you. Thanks for the kind words, I will tell Toby what you said. I use super strong refrigerator magnets that I got from Amazon. Stainless steel refrigerator doors are merely steel doors with a little bit of nickel and other things added to make them shiny and stainless. The key is they are made of steel. So if you get a magnet strong enough, you can hold anything to them. Here is a link to some very strong refrigerator magnets on Amazon, Mike ☺ amzn.to/2x61r6F

    Years ago, before the internet became a thing, I found a few articles on the joy of nuking all sorts of things, including eggs. So, I tried microwave scrambled eggs, but they they would either turn out dry, oddly textured, or just plain meh... I gave up until I found a gadget promising perfectly poached eggs. It was a plastic piece with 2 round wells & a slide on lid. Just add a tsp of water to each well, drop in your eggs, prick the yolks with a toothpick, cover, nuke & presto, the eggs of your dreams! Well, not exactly... The lid kept “exploding” off launching the eggs out of the gadget. Cutting back the time only produced an intact, but rubbery white & dry yolk. Never tried again. While given approximate times, cooking on 30%, or even at reduced power, was never mentioned! But now that I'm armed with your tips, I'm willing to give it another try this weekend. Maybe start with the poached eggs, then revisit a scramble. If they turn out as planned, I'll probably be in the market for some new gadgets.😉 Thanks!

      Nho Wei, Thank you so much for your feedback and the kind words, I very much appreciate it. Just remember, the poached eggs are on high, the other 2 recipes use 30% power. Mike

    There's such a thing as bacon salt? I don't need to know this. Toby's a right good retriever he got the stick he wanted and got cooled off, too. Loved all these microwave egg techniques. I'm not a gadget person but the omelet maker does look interesting. :o)

      Tonithenightowl, Yep, bacon salt is awesome! I have been using it for years. But as I indicated in the video, you have to be very careful because you can definitely overwhelmed a recipe with bacon salt. Thanks for your feedback, Mike ☺

    Hi, Mike. I have a question for you: would you make a separate list of low-carb or “Keto” videos that use only low-carb food stuffs? The reason I ask is that I wanted to share this YT video not only on my FB page but also on about thirteen (13) low-carb/Keto FB groups (there are more than that out there) but when you include items like bread or pictures of carbs (baked potato) are considered “trigger foods” by those FB group moderators. Believe me that many of the followers on those walls are easily “triggered” when they see the foods they have to avoid. The omelette-maker as well as the egg bacon cheese breakfast sandwich would be PERFECT for those following Keto or the HFLC Lifestyle. Thank you for your time.

      Terrilian Reya, I certainly appreciate you sharing my video with your RUclips group and friends. I'm going to have to study the issue of low carb and Keto before I can make a commitment about making videos. Mike ☺

    No do not wash mushrooms 🍄. I take a tea towel and wipe them very gently, and use my soft mushroom brush. 😉

  • @haveyougotyourtowel
    @haveyougotyourtowel 5 лет назад

    I wipe off mushrooms, if necessary, but washing them turns them into soggy sponges, and they're grown in a sterile medium--not typical dirt.

      Patricia, I know what you are saying is true. However, knowing that the mushrooms at some point in the process are grown in pasteurized manure, just doesn't sit well in my brain. Besides that, I have never had a problem cooking mushrooms after they have been washed. Thanks for your advice, Mike 🧔
