Visari was highly charismatic and genuinely loved his people and his country. Stahl was a ruthless businessman only out for himself, and Tyran was just consumed by hatred. This is what made Visari by far the most dangerous and effective leader.
I don’t think Visari loved his people, I think he was much like Hitler or Stalin, he saw an opportunity to become incredibly powerful, and took it Killzone is actually a really good war story that emphasises that neither side is right and makes you think, how do you feel about slaughtering the Nazis who also happen to have been exiled and oppressed by your own government and the government that yours reports to? Pretyt much by the end of the first game (maybe the second) you realise pretty easily by reading deeper into stuff that you are playing as the bad guys. In uniform, and maybe in the way they talk, they could be seen as Space Nazis, but in reality they are nothing more than men fighting for their planet and their people. That is literally their only goal. To not be oppressed.

I love the really subtle worldbuilding in the line “…as they sweep over our lands like the sands of winter”. Telling us that Helghan is a desert planet with so little moisture in the atmosphere that not enough liquid water can condense into snow, and so to the Helghans, winters are known for being more dry than they would be on Earth or Vekta. Also showing that they’ve been exiled from Vekta for so long that they’ve forgotten what snow looks and feels like. Very casually mentioned in the speech but I love how much it implies.
I can’t help but sympathize with the helghan. They were attacked (economically and politically) because the UCN became paranoid of their success (which they allowed in the first place). Then when they lost the UCN treated them horribly. So it’s not really surprising that they became an angry and bitter people who absolutely hated everyone else.
Well it's not that the UCN became paranoid of their success. The UCN were sick of the Helghan corporation taxing the fuck out of every ship going through Vekta. Since Vekta was so important for space travel, it was a critical strategic point. The Helghan were greedy. But at the same time, the Helghan corporation was the one that successfully colonized Vekta, after UCN failed to do so. Sooo, yeah. Just bad things all around.

One thing is lack in the Killzone story, What about Vekta? After the frist war, they spearate colonies into two different people, Vektas who remained and those who became helghan. Did they want independence, reunion with Helghen, or fear helghast to side with Earth ISA? A lot of miss opportunity to expand Killzone story then just helghan just bad and ISA fill with jackasses. Killzone 1 somewhat explore this with Templar being the honorable vekta and Luger the ISA cold agent, if only they drop the damn romance plot.
They tried to make the Helghast look like the Nazi Reich of space and an a la Adolf Hitler with Scholar Visari, but instead they made a sympathetic and polar opposite faction
That's why they stopped they realised that the Helghast are the ones the people want to play as and that the "good guys" suck so if they do bring back the franchise look to see the Helghast turned into a pathetic version of themselves.

The emotion conveys a man who not only deeply appreciates the fact he leads his people, but more importantly, that he is incapable of taking a moment of it for granted. As much as it’s his dream that is playing out, he knows that the only reason he has a stage to enact it is because of the people. Regardless of the morality of what the helgans are doing, the political position they have is complete synchronicity between leader & people. And it is scary to witness. Not because of what they can do, but because they, of their own free will, refuse to be moved & will not be denied.

It actually got one back on PS3. You can buy the original trilogy in a box. Unfortunately Guerrilla has it's eyes on Horizon Zero Dawn which is rumored to have 2 more games coming. Besides, I'd rather they just passed the IP to Sony so we can get more games. The quality of Shadowfall was visually good but wasn't really a Killzone game.
Well they did sort of kind of steal from Chancellor Hitler, Helgan = Germany, and pretty much you can slide in / mix up and the various events of the fall of Germany , and roll with it. Sony/Guerrilla Games actually got some shit from the European press for stealing parts of Hitler's speeches for this game.

Killzone Mercenary was my favorite entry of the series since you fought with the Helghast, if only for a few chapters. If they ever continue Killzone, you should be able to play as the Helghast or mercenaries and fight against ISA forces. The ISA imo are the true villains of Killzone even though you play as them. I love the really subtle worldbuilding in the line “…as they sweep over our lands like the sands of winter”. Telling us that Helghan is a desert planet with so little moisture in the atmosphere that not enough liquid water can condense into snow, and so to the Helghans, winters are known for being more dry than they would be on Earth or Vekta. Also showing that they’ve been exiled from Vekta for so long that they’ve forgotten what snow looks and feels like.
Very casually mentioned in the speech but I love how much it implies.
I can’t help but sympathize with the helghan. They were attacked (economically and politically) because the UCN became paranoid of their success (which they allowed in the first place). Then when they lost the UCN treated them horribly. So it’s not really surprising that they became an angry and bitter people who absolutely hated everyone else.
Well it's not that the UCN became paranoid of their success. The UCN were sick of the Helghan corporation taxing the fuck out of every ship going through Vekta. Since Vekta was so important for space travel, it was a critical strategic point. The Helghan were greedy.
But at the same time, the Helghan corporation was the one that successfully colonized Vekta, after UCN failed to do so.
Sooo, yeah. Just bad things all around.

One thing is lack in the Killzone story, What about Vekta? After the frist war, they spearate colonies into two different people, Vektas who remained and those who became helghan. Did they want independence, reunion with Helghen, or fear helghast to side with Earth ISA? A lot of miss opportunity to expand Killzone story then just helghan just bad and ISA fill with jackasses.
Killzone 1 somewhat explore this with Templar being the honorable vekta and Luger the ISA cold agent, if only they drop the damn romance plot.

After hearing his speech I can understand why so many of the Helghast followed Visari to war with the ISA
