Thank you for sharing your experience and instructions with is, I'm almost 70 years old and just trying to get started making coin rings, so far I have made 3 rings using, spoon, hammer, drill, file and steel wool. Hopefully will get better tools like you show in your videos, thank you for sharing.
I got a short piece of 3/4" sch 40 and found a 1" piece of copper pipe to fit over the pvc like a dream and a copper cap for beating on. Great idea you have, thanks
thank you for making this for someone who doesn't have all the tools. im a steel fitter and CNC operator not this kind of metal working so have different tools. this will get me started to see if i like it and then maybe invest but i doubt it. love the work and content keep it up!
Great job. I have made my own mandril, solid steel out of really old galvanized open wire telephone arms. It already had the shape so I machined it down to the required size. I will make a jewelry punch and cutter set next. I have a regular job, so I don't have much time to make RUclips videos. Will try to on my vacation leave.
@@ediemorgan5412 I have a recommended tool list on my website with links for all the tools. I haven’t checked out Home Depot for Coin Ring Tools but maybe.
I’ve watched several of your videos with great interest. Question, I haven’t seen a video where you annealed the coin. Can I ask why you don’t and what is the advantage to annealing if there is a positive reason? Also, wouldn’t it make sense to form the coin while hot? Seems it would be softest and more pliable when red hot. Keep making the videos, I truly enjoy.
With copper and silver annealing and quenching softens the metal. It’s very useful for larger coins. I’ve made so many quarter rings I can “feel” when they are about to split. Mostly I skip annealing where I can to save on ring clean up. Silver I anneal more often.
What are these tools and where does one get them??? I gave steel mandrels and a disk cutter that is probably too delicate for cutting a quarter. Thanks.
I see people using those "Dooming block and punch sets" with a small 1 ton Arbor press from Harbor freight for pretty cheap... Are those worth the price?

Also, is there different sizes of hole punch things or does it matter?
I recommend 1/2 holes on most coins. You can find a full list of my recommended tools on my website.
Can you buy the tools that you used at home depot, harbor freight or Lowes?

How do you size the ring?
Currently I use a ring stretcher and reducing dies to change the size. I use a mandrel to check the size.
