a short walk in Historic 16th century Bazaar of Urmia

Urmia Grand Bazaar is located in Imam Street in the central part of Urmia and it dates back to Safavid era. There also an old synagogue in this traditional bazaar. Like any other ancient bazaar in Iran, Urmia Grand Bazaar has a lot of vault and domes in a simple and modest design. You can find some historical baths and shops from Zandieh and Qajar eras.
بازار ارومیه مربوط به دوره صفوی است و در ارومیه، در بافت قدیمی این شهر، مابین خیابان امام و بعثت واقع شده و این اثر در تاریخ ۲۲ خرداد ۱۳۶۲ با شمارهٔ ثبت ۱۶۳۹ به‌عنوان یکی از آثار ملی ایران به ثبت رسیده است. قدمت بازار ارومیه به دورهٔ صفویان می‌رسد. کنیسهٔ مربوط یهودیان منطقه نیز در محدودهٔ این بازار قرار گرفته‌است
