Apparently from what I heard from Ramfett, this P-50 was taken out of service because it has the history of sucking in fiberglass and especially because the chopper has seized up multiple times before. Just not as bad as what happened here.
I.E: the former state fair park P-50 with a fried motor due to being struck by lightning. I believe that siren still sits in their yard. Correct me if I'm wrong.
To answer your questions, this siren was being fed 480V, the reason the frequency was off at first was because the siren itself wasn’t wired correctly and the generator was not happy. At all. If everything had been done right, the P-50 would’ve sounded much better!
The entire siren is completely dead. after the event, the siren was cut apart to make it easier to be transported, and to do further autopsy on the siren. it was said at the event that the siren would never run again. When the rotor broke it destroyed the motor.
@@wildtraingamer3146 yeah sorry its illinois i had a brain fart I believe a small projectile, perhaps a piece of fiberglass, impacted the rotor and caused the siren to completely stall
I may have borrowed a clip from this, I hope that’s ok! Also thank you for capturing me and Tom literally dying hahahaha!

this P-50 is done for, its chopper and stator are friction welded together, hopefully the chopper and stator gets fixed.
Most likely not, I’m pretty sure this siren is totaled
moments before disaster
lol yep
It was an aggressive failure! The safety precautions taken were warranted.

maybe its time that the sirencon staff get a more powerful 480V generator, and i hope that they try the p50 again next year and nothing goes wrong.
That’s p50 is basically fucked and I don’t even know if there is a thing as a 480v generator
@fs_sd-10where do you think your gonna find a replacement motor for the thing, aca went outta business long time ago buddy

Ah yes! The Gen 6 NASCAR sounding siren
Ok
Is it possible to replace the chopper with the one in the Cyclone?
don't know, maybe since the cyclone and the p50 are very similar. It was taken apart though and now i think is just being used for parts
I heard something that the P50 got replaced in idk what area
Schaumburg Illinois
