Gamemode 9 is probably "accessability mode", for disabled people. They showed it in one of Minecons. It was made for eye tracking control for paralysed people.

Gamemode 9 almost feels like the legacy console edition cheat features, the survival mode flight was an option you could enable, I don't know if the mob targeting was an option though

There was this old flappy bird map that you could get back in the old pocket edition days in android, (remember Blocklauncher?) there was an app along the lines of “maps for MCPE” and on the world, you could fly in survival. You’d take damage upon landing if you get high enough though.
The gamemode 9 is like that glitch I discovered, where youre on a multiplayer local server with a friend as the owner, he unlock the cheats on the world and you set own gamemode on creative and you can fly on your side (but just glitch up with the others players and take fall damage), mine every block instantly (sometime with a little rollback) and literally puch out of existence the bedrock but you cant get any block in the creative menu like in creative
yeah mojang still hasnt fixed that bug its actually really annoying
I think I have done it before because I have a clip of me flying in survival
i have a video on it where i did it a different way. i was in creative, then when i switched to survival between the input lag, i started fly and it left me in the fly state since then. the only difference was that i would take damage upon falling and mobs would attack me. also i would be put back into regular survival mode upon restarting the world.
Same thing happened to me when i played with my friend he was wondering around and i put creative mode on 10 mins later i switched to survival Too fast and that happened
there was a glitch like that on the classic console versions my sister and i discovered. we would abuse it all the time, just to fly in survival. died alot from falling tho
Gamemode 9 was what I had in 1.14 bedrock when you have lots of lag, and fly in creative mode then switch, then you would be flying in survival but mobs would still attack you.

Xbox 360 has host options.
You can literally just turn it on and off, but it’s just survival mode with flight/infinite saturation/permanent invis. (When invis is on you cannot take damage.)

You can do gamemode 9 on Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition if u activate cheats then u can enable flight whilst in survival but if u fly up really high then drop, double press A before u touch the ground and u will still take damage
I accidentally entered game mode 9 and was very confused. I will say it was very useful for survival builds

The gamemode 9 can also be enabled by setting someone to visitior in multiplayer and some settings shinanigans

I’ve been in something like game mode 9 but I could only fly, there was still damage and stuff and it was a weird glitch that happened after death
I think I've actually entered gamemode 9 before it was meant to be there, it was right before the nether update.
I was in survival and my brother made me an operator, idk what I was doing but it put me in gamemode 9.

There used to be a glitch with game mode 9. I used to be able to do this without editing the world and I would be able to grab blocks out of the creative menu in survival.

The gamemode 9 leaves you in a limbo state of half creative and half survival and that will be the same in the minecraft PI edition if you try to load up a survival world
Enable education edition features then type "/ability mayfly" or something likw that (it might have a one after), and thats another way to enable flight in survival or adventure mode.

Mojang wasn't added new gamemode, is because gamemode is an bitwise enum in internal game code, so valid enum flags you set in gamemode (that in chat is regonized as int, and int is most base of enum values) will works. Is not proper a feature, its just not an intended behaviour.
Not at all, the game just skip and uses closest flag value, so lot of them is just spectator.
I once I changed from gamemode survival to creative when the leg can fly there is life but still gets attacked by the mob

Not only did they add spectator, but i think that the other secret gamemode is "God Mode" they probably made it so in multiplayer/servers you can easily play and also be an admin in the server. without having to change between gamemodes.

There is already a spectator mode so if you made a world and go to edit and scroll down you will see spectator just type in /gamemode spectator and there
I think the gamemode 9 is combined with surival mode and creative mode so thats how mobs dont kill you and can fly

Mobs can't attack you, you can fly etc.

Spectator isn't really a secret gamemode, they have been thinking about adding it to Bedrock since they have it in Java and is under development.
I feel like gamemode 9 might be the very early stages of preparing hardcore mode, starting with survival, the reason the mobs can't hurt you could be that you are currently spectating the world after you died. Some may ask; why not just put the character in spectator then, but heres the thing, I think that hardcore mode will come out in 1.19 as a surprise feature with only walking around as immortal as the spectating the world bit as we won't have spectator yet because the devs have already confirmed its not coming in 1.19

@Cherylene I agee, but remember, the gamemode is not public, neither is commanding yourself into hardcare in java so in theory, hardcore is a gamemode, just it affects both the player and the world. We haven't ever seen any sort of gamemode in bedrock which affects the world yet, so it makes sense that that part of hardcore would that longer to make and therefore, isn't in the game yet. But who knows! Could be anything!
