Hello friends,
If you've ever wondered what it's like to live in a tiny village in Scotland, this is the video for you!
It's been a while since I last posted, but I'm so proud of this one. We had the opportunity to head up to the East Coast of Scotland for a week, my in-laws' beautiful dog in tow. St Monans is a tiny village in the East Neuk of Fife, rich with history and wildlife. So come join us as we spend a dreamy week here. I hope you enjoy the charming scenes, and perhaps learn something new.
Love & hugs,
Kat x

Thank you for watching! I'm so happy with how this video turned out - and I hope you like it too 😄 Before you go, be sure to like the video! And let me know in the comments what you prefer - the misty mountains 🏔 or the quaint coastline? 🌊
Hi, Kat thank you very much for a well-planned, presented and produced video. I very much like your laid-back attitude when you go on holiday. Best greetings from Jacques from a country far-far away, South Africa. My mother was from Scottish decent, and I am very proud to be partially Scottish - such a proud and strong nation.
How wonderful - I have many South African friends and have always wished to visit! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video :)

Thank you so much for your kind comment, I'm so happy you enjoyed the video :)
Hi, Kat! So glad to meet you! Hubby and I are in Scotland right now, currently exploring the beautiful area of Argyll. In fact, we plan to visit Arichonan tomorrow. Your video on this Highland Clearance village was beautifully done. Best of luck with your videos. You have a unique and authentic style that captures the essence of a place in a very special way. Thank you!
Thank you! You are a beautiful Woman.
Thank you for sharing! Beautiful!
Thank you for watching! Glad you liked it :)
Looking forward to more! Would love to visit scotland one day.
Quite pleasant and relaxing.
When I am surprised by a dolphin I feel five years old again... pure joy!
Awh thank you, yes I adore dolphins! Hoping to see whales in person some day 🐋
@@PilgrimKat that'd definitely be a whopper 😉
What you have presented has re-awoken my love of Scotland and the hope of one day returning to resume exploring your stunning country. A combination of the misty mountains and quaint shorelines makes a good balance. Thank you.
How lovely, thank you for watching! 💛
You asked me what I prefer in Scotland and to report it in the comments. I prefer anything that's Scottish. I don't care if it's land or sea or air or culture or your thoughts or the people. You're a natural... very skilled and soulful and intelligent -just keep doing what you're doing! I think you found your special niche. Explore all of Scotland, please. You are unique, your own brand that no one else can copy. Subscribed! Gratitude! Bravo!🎉🌹👏👏👏👏
What a lovely lovely comment, thank you so much for taking the time to watch and leave such kind words 😊 Welcome to the channel!
@@PilgrimKat You're welcome, PilgrimKat. I meant every word of it. Looking forward to more episodes on YT from you. Bravo! 👏👏👏👏🌹🌹🌹🌹
Lovely. The perfect Sunday morning breakfast video. Please don't stop. Now when I think of rural Scotland I think of you.
Awh, thank you so much! Currently in the midst of moving house but I'll be back creating content again soon 😄
I used to live and work in Fife…. I much prefer the East Neuk to any other part of Scotland, and I’ve been everywhere. Scotland has so many stunning beauties to choose from, but our hearts find their own best fit, and for me that’s the often sunny Fife coast…….oh and the absence of midges helps 😉
Haha yes, the lack of midgies is certainly a point in its favour! 😅 Thank you for watching 😊
What a delightful Scottish brogue. I could listen to you all day!
This was relaxing and beautiful! I love both areas, the sea coast and the mountains at different times. My ancestors were from Scotland so maybe that’s why I feel a special connection. Great video! Thanks and much love from the U.S!❤
Thank you so much, it makes me so happy that you enjoyed it 🤗 I recently learned there's a Gaelic word "Cianalas" which is a kind of homesickness for your roots. And then there's the German "Fernweh" which is a yearning for a place you've never been to. Perhaps you are experiencing something between the two?
Happy to have discovered this channel. I watched a couple of episodes and enjoyed them immensely. You have a cinematic style of storytelling that I love. I will explore your early works to get to know you better.
Thank you so much for your sweet words, you're the first person to describe my videos as "cinematic" - this comment has honestly made my day! 🤗🌿
As much as i love the mountains and glens i am a coastal guy.
I love the salt water, smell of ocean and the cliffs. 🌊❤️
My grandfather was from St. Monan's, left in 1912
another lovely video, it great to see a channel that is so calming, looking forward to more.
Thank you for another kind comment, really glad you found it calming :)
Very glad to see your channel becoming successful !! It's super inspiring :)
Awh, thank you so much 🤗
I Love it All! It is on my bucket list to visit there and Ireland, as over half my heritage is from there. My Grandparents traced the family, my Mothers side, to the 1200s Scotland. The name being Shanks. My GGGGrandfather came into Philadelphia in 1815. He was Scotch Irish born in 1772 and I have the photographs of both my GGGGrandparents from the 1850s. As long as I can remember when I hear the pipes I feel homesick. Kind Thanks and Many Blessings and I have subscribed! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania
Wow, look at those views, Kat!! I really enjoyed your video. 😍
Aw, thank you!! Still looking forwarded to our collab :)
That was so lovely 🌿
Thank you, really happy you liked it :)
My granddad was Scottish from Aberdeenshire👌but am an Indian now by birth.I have never been to scotland, but seeing these places I dont know why I feel likeI belong to these places. Love it.
That's amazing 😊 You should definitely make the trip sometime - everyone is welcome in Scotland 🤗 🌿
Love this - filming is excellent. I was born in Crail & always welcome scenes of coastal Fife. Well done.
Thank you Wendy 🤗 How lovely, I visited the little Harbour Gallery tea room in Crail once - a special wee place!
Hubby & I are planning a trip to Crail soon. We've lived in Wales (beautiful) for many years but are looking forward to visiting Fife. My father was stationed at HMS Jackdaw, the Crail (one-time) Royal Naval Airbase - memories - & that's how I came to be born there.
As a Englishman I just wanna say I luv your historic video's Kat ! Glad I came across y channel ! Carry on the great work ! Goodluck 👍🏴👍🏴
Aw welcome! Thank you so much for stopping by and for your kind words 😊🌿
Well done, Kat.
I am now one of your subscribers from Florida.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of you adventures.
Awh welcome! Thank you so much for watching 😊
Your technology is great because the scenes and flow of the scenes were perfect! Here in Missouri it is getting a bit pricey too. Loved the good quality comment. Really great travel scenes thanks again!
This comment means so much, it takes a lot of time to get the transitions right so thank you for noticing! :)
I love your videos! Grateful I found you. Thank you for these wonderful vlogs. What a treasure you are.
I love this video, so nice to see that part of Scotland! Thank you.
Thanks for watching! :)
I was intrigued by the sea and the villages.I have ancestry from the Scottish Highlands. Inverness. My family were the Macmay's.Isabella Macmay was a redhead. So was my grandmother. So is my sister.
Thank you for sharing your experience. It was lovely.
I prefer the cute little towns by the sea ❤ That being said tho I love all of Scotland. Home of my family once. Wonderfully done video! How do you get such beautiful landscape video shots? Beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Can’t wait to see the next one from USA.🇺🇸❤🏴
Thank you so much, it brings me so much joy to share Scotland's beauty 🤗 I use an entry level Canon camera for some of them and the Mavic mini 2 drone for others 🎥
Such a beautiful video!
Thanks sis, love the username ;)
Hahaha 🤪 made that like 15 years ago, thanks for reminding me to update it 😂
Tks for sharing ur 'getaway' w/ us!! I liked seeing the doggos and that shop was awesome!! As far as a preference between the coast or mountains....I like them all. I grew up in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, lived on the coast for many years (even lived aboard & sailed my 30' sailboat) and now live back in the Appalachian mountains. Each area has its own unique charm. The only places I've lived that I did not like were cities!! lol
Aw wow, living on a sailboat sounds amazing! I have to say I don't know a great deal about American mountain ranges, so it's interesting to read your comment - will need to learn more :)
I used to live in lybster on the far north east of Scotland now I live in London I miss them days.
I like the quaint coastline
The seaside is very soothing, isn't it?
Thank you
What a nice vlog..softly spoken in a lovely accent. Been to Scotland once..was blown away by the landscape, but not the weather. You’ve got to be a hardy type to live up there…brrrrr.
Thank you so much! An old Scottish proverb - "There's no such thing as bad weather...just the wrong clothes!" You learn to adept to it haha :')
... feel's like home ...
Gratefull 💜
Thank you for such a lovely visit to a place I can't go to in real life!
I'm so glad I'm able to give you a "tour". Thank you for stopping by 🤗🌿
Thanks for sharing Scotland with us that are from other places. Peace and love from a Colorado native, now living in the Pacific Northwest, on the Olympic Peninsula, in Washington State.❤
I’m a sea lover. Been on it, in it or near it all my 81 years. There’s something that draws me to it.
Thank you so much! Ah Washington State, my brother lives there, hoping to visit within the next year 😍🌿
I enjoyed your videos. Thank you from New Scotland.
Greetings from the state of Michigan.! Thanks for sharing the view from your part of the world, enjoyed watching your video. I have been to Ireland and hope to visit your country some day.
This is wonderful! I'm a Fifer ( betweenie Cupar n St Andrews) and know the East Neuk very well! The outdoor pool, is an open sea pool. We had one in St Andrews, I learned to swim in it😂, only, ye dinnae have tae fret aboot Sharks, t'was the Jellies lah! 🪼😮😊They were harmless 🎉 But aye..we are blessed with not only Dolphins but also the Whales that visit us during their migration too! Oh, a wee notie..we don't grow bananas here in Fife!😂❤
Just a notie to the above! My life journey has taken me away from home, with new adventures., and miss HOME more, the older I become! But as they say.. " Ye can tak the Scot oot of Scotland, but ye cannie tak SCOTLAND oot the Scot!😊👍Scots' wa hae!❤😍🏴🏴🗡❤
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching! :)
The Fife coastline villages are very nice I lived in Dysart for a while but my preference is western Highlands I also like Arran and Bute.
Fantastic! Really great! Have a great day and please keep it up! ❤😊
Thank you so much for your support and encouragement! Will have more content up in the Autumn time once I'm settled in my new home ☺
I just found your channel. I have watched some of your other videos and they are absolutely wonderful. I liked the video and subscribed.
I prefer a little of both, lol, some mountains & some sea! Awesome videos you make! Tysm ♥♥♥
Aw thank you for watching, and for your kind comment 😊
Love it all😘
Thanks for watching 🤗🌿
Lovely village. As for your dog Bria not wanting to swim, each one is an individual. Some dogs are water rats, you just can't keep them out of it, and others won't go in the water.
You're probably right, she had a mishap with a canoe when she was little unfortunately! Thanks for watching 🤗
The sea for me!
Hey Sam, thanks for stopping by! :)
I like it all
Scotland is enchanting. I found a grandparent came from Scotland in 1800s. My thoughts are why did they leave such a magical land. I wish to visit it call to my heart
That's amazing that you know your heritage so far back! Ah well, every country has its good and it's bad, I'm sure they had their reasons 🤗
I love that country,....
I love it too :)
Love this content. Great to see the out-of-the-way places that have been untouched. And you have a great accent!
Love your channel!
thank you 🤗
It is a dream of mine to be right there in that tiny village experiencing the wonders of both sea and history. I wonder if I would sense echos of my ancestors there. Thank you for creating such a beautiful, healing video and sharing it with us all ❤(love both sea and mountains-but partial to the small fishing towns and way of life!)
What a sweet comment, thank you for watching 🤗
"Brèagha", now that's "Pretty"! 😉
Family history says my Grandfather came from Ireland, but I've always loved Scotland, so maybe there's a Scot way back there, also. love the high country, but sea visits are always appreciated!
It's perfectly possible! Ireland is lovely 🤗
Mountains or the sea?? Well in this case, I think it comes with the territory of having Scottish ancestry; I love them both 😍
It looks beautiful but mountains win every time 🏔
same! :)
Beau, Magnifique! Je vais me décider, si Dieu veut et encourager mes enfants à élire un de ces lieux magiques pour y résider. L'écosse, la plus française de toutes l'île.
Thank you Kat, loved the video. My mum was adopted but her real mother was Scottish so I have a little bit of Scottish blood in me, so I'm always interested in your tales of Scotland 😊
Thank you Suzanne, really glad you enjoyed, and lovely to hear about some of your heritage!
You have more than a little, you should delve more into it and find exactly where you came from.
@@scotoftheanarchic.7903 We tried to but my mums real mother had already passed away and despite all our efforts we could not find any more information. very sadly my mum has just passed away 2 days ago...so not sure if we will ever find out our scottish roots.
@@SuzannesSimpleLiving I'm so sorry for the passing of your mum, my mum just turned 80 and I don't know what I'd do without her and I'm a man which may sound a wee bit daft but she's the only female thats understood me. Do you know your gran`s surname at all ?
@@scotoftheanarchic.7903 thank you...yes we have her name
Beautifully produced content. Thank your for sharing. I live in Northern California and don’t know if I’ll ever be able to visit though I’d love to! I was curious what the water and air temperatures were at this time.
Thank you 🤗 Gosh, I'm not 100% certain but between 10-15 degrees Celsius I suppose? Cold at any rate but warmer than at other times in the year!
❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊
Just found your channel and subscribed. Great vlog but just drop the background music a little or increase the volume of your narration. Well done!😊
Thank you so much Henry - and thanks for the tip! Will be sure to adjust for future videos ☺
Every time I watch your videos I’m always surprised and amazed by the beauty of Scotland. You seem to find such calm, quiet places to visit.
We are fortunate to live in the mountain state of Colorado, but I have always wanted to live in New England near the coast. I love the villages, architecture, and lighthouses. We are planning a trip there soon.
Lovely video!
Living in the city makes me want to run away to quiet places whenever I can haha! I love how diverse the scenery is in America, would love to do a road trip there someday.
I'm assuming the water would have been icy cold.
Almost warm...ish 😅 Lovely once you get in!
Prefiro as montanhas com muitas flores silvestres e animais também. Foca mais nisso.Obrigada
Lovely video. Scotland is so beautiful, though it has a very rich pagan history.
I'm curious, are you a born again Christian? I've watched some of your videos and you mention God, praying and quote Jesus Christ as if He was simply a philosopher.
As well as the summer solstice being a magical time, and doing yoga... these two things are in conflict with the Word of God and not something a Christian should delve into.
Please don't take offence, this is _not_ meant to be a criticism. Just commenting on what I observe.
Hello, thank you so much for taking the time to watch my videos and for your kind concern 🙏💛 Yes, I am indeed a devout Christian and have been my whole life long ✝️
Don't worry, I'm not at all offended! I used to be a gymnast so yoga for me is a gentler, non-competition based way that I can maintain flexibility. I see it as a "meat sacrificed to idols" issue as discussed in 1 Corinthians 8. I've never until lately through one or two comments on these videos had other Christians express concern so haven't had to worry about my yoga practice being a "stumbling block" to others before. So I will prayerfully consider this further.
I believe there may be some differences in our dialects - when I say "magical" to me it is synonymous with "ethereal" or "wonderful", witchcraft/paganism was certainly not at the front of my mind!
While there is a pagan history in Scotland, there is also a deeply rich Christian one that is less often portrayed in popular media. Maybe I'll make a video about it sometime ☺️
Hey, I have a notification that you've sent another comment but it isn't showing up here for some reason!
I think the main thing you were wondering is whether my faith is from family tradition or living belief? To which I can say that I absolutely have a personal relationship with Jesus, love God with all my mind, body and soul, have been filled with Holy Spirit, and live my life serving Him. Raised pentecostal baptist with a bit of evangelical thrown in for good measure, but have spent much time with Christians across many different denominations 💛🌿✝️
