- Vanlife in Fife. We head back into the East Neuk of Fife in Scotland to check out how camper van friendly it is, and to explore the pretty wee fishing village of Pittenweem in search of their famous Fish and Chips.
Is this the best time to visit Scotland? Well it’s definitely the quietest.
We take Daisy Ducato to one of Fife Council's new approved overnight parking locations, ideal for a budget trip, and it's a beauty. A headland overlooking the river Forth estuary with stunning views along the Fife coast towards the villages of Anstruther and St Monans.
We walk along the coastal path down into the village of Pittenweem, with its beautiful harbour, historic streets, saint's cave and just about the best fish and chips in the kingdom.
We also get up close and personal with the tail end of Storm Henk as we try to capture the classic "waves breaking over the harbour wall" photo.
Do we get it?? Or do we just get wet??
Oh, and we also annoy a flock of seagulls !!
A huge thank you to everyone who's supported our wee channel so far, if you'd like to help support our wee adventures you can do it through through our Ko-Fi or Patreon.
All our videos are hand made from 100% organic ingredients ;). Our content is mostly filmed on a GoPro 11 with a Rode fluffy microphone to keep the wind noise down, with occasional bits on an iPhone13. We also use a DJI Mini 3 drone which we're loving getting to grips with.
We make our own music using GarageBand and the videos are edited in iMovie.
If you'd like to buy DeNiro a biscuit (and he's a good boy, honest) you can via our Ko-Fi link at www.ko-fi.com/S....
If you'd like to become a patron of our wee channel we also have a patreon at / scotlandonashoestring
We also have an Etsy shop where we sell some of our hand made items. It's at dandbbythesea....
Many happy hours sat on the side of the harbour, catching saithe.😊
Squabble! a group of seagulls is a squabble. 🌊
Hahaha, thanks. We’ve just googled and of all the possibilities a Squabble is our favourite 🤩
I am here again to get a good laughter from your funny storytellings and of course for the wonderful views you show us. You really made me laughing loud on a misty cold snowy Sunday here on Germany
Danke!! We love how many different countries our viewers come from.
@@scotlandonashoestring i am a longtime viewer since you started. Remember how I asked you to talk a bit slower? I now have the hang of it and can follow no matter how fast it's spoken. Just shared this episode in Facebook. Hope it brings you a couple of viewers in, you really derserve it. Keep on making these great content.
Of course we remember, your comment helped us know where we could improve. I’ve really been trying to slow down.
Thank you so much for taking me to a lovely place that I can never visit otherwise! I like you love old cemeteries and graveyards. I have a good bit of Scottish ancestry so I love your channel.
Thank you for the kind words. We love sharing our travels :)
What a lovely place, so many interesting buildings and cemetery too. The fish & chips look amazing - not jealous at all............
The Fish and Chips were the highlight 😉
@@scotlandonashoestring 😂
Thank you for take us along with you to this beautiful little village and cemetery. The brake waters over the levee wall was quite pretty. Have a wonderful and blessed week and take care.
It’s another lovely wee part of Fife :)
I loved this episode and the photography was georgous! Thank you very much for making and sharing this beautiful video! Th fish and chips looked delicious!😮🥰💞😊👍
They were very tasty 😋
What an awesome video! Loved it!!! So much history. Cannot believe how some of those grave stones are in such good shape. It’s ok DeNiro, sometimes it’s nice to just stay curled up, comfy, cozy in bed.
Ahh, but if he stays in bed he misses out on the Zoomies.
Happy New year. That is a beautiful graveyard. So glad you found it. The waves were awesome. I could stand there all day and watch them crashing up against the wall and rocks. Thanks for all the effort you put into your videos .They are very much appreciated.
Thank You!! It was a grand day out. We loved the waves.
What a beautiful place , thank you for taking me with you .
Thank you for joining us !!
Great to see you!
You braved the weather to share some Scottish beauty❤
Enjoy your week and thanks much.
At this time of year it's mostly just braving the weather :)
Certainly a lot to do in that beautiful town and the meal looks soo tempting. I love the tower house wedged into the rest of the street, really quirky.
Yeah, need to find out more about that. Looks really cool.
I enjoyed you chasing the seagulls to get artistic footage. 😂
The more I see of Fife, the more I know it's the right place to move when we retire in a few years. I enjoy/torture myself by looking at property there online when I have free time.
There are so many nice wee places here, and you’re never that far away from all the services you may need.
wow so beautiful in your videos
Thank you so much 😀
@@scotlandonashoestringyou're most welcome, You are so beautiful in you video.your channel views low and subscribers low.Never have someone to give you the sco.Sco to get subscribers and subscriptions will increase when someone.
That was a good walk about in a lovely location. The waves were fantastic! I have a healthy respect for the sea and those fishermen. Couldn’t do that job in a million years. Interesting graveyard. Sad one with the wee girl. :( Glad you got a bit of sun. Grey grey grey here for weeks. Googled Sir Walter Watson Hughes. Never said that SOAS isn’t educational! Have a good week.
These wee places where the sea was the main employer have endured so much over the years.
Copy / Pasted link on twitter and blue sky. Helping to grow the channel. These Fife landscapes and adventures are just what the doctor has ordered. The narration is very helpful.
Thanks as always!! We’ve got some cool explores in the pipeline and it almost time for the next phase of Daisy developments :)
Been there recently with a great Dutch friend and according to her, ‘neuk’ in Dutch means f**k. 😂
We need to know what “east” means. This could be hilarious 😆
