  • Led Zeppelin, Rock and Roll intro, fill and ending WITH GHOST NOTES
This is for Led Zeppelin EXPERT @toddsinflatedcondoms
Because he has 45 years of drumming experience and is an encyclopedia on EVERYTHING about John Bonham's drumming!!! I personally think this way looks a goofy with my left arm going up for the ghost notes and a little limp wristed🤣 ....( and of course.. you can't hear the ghost notes here ..or on the recording )

It's definitely how I always heard and played the song personally. Covers of the song without the ghost notes just seem to be lacking to me.

Have you heard the versions with the drums isolated on the STUDIO VERSION... I really hear no ghost notes...but I could be wrong... ruclips.net/video/6V0GcNaMiAk/видео.html

Thanks..That's so funny... I used to have my HH almost 10 inches higher than this ...it was custom made!!! This one feels way to low to me!

Bonzo 100% plays the ghost notes.

BUT...on the ISOLATED STUDIO RECORDING..they are no where to be heard.

@Q1776Q the ghost notes are there, but they're buried. And it's a terrible recording.. Try listen for the sound of the snares hitting the bottom head instead of listening for the stick hitting the top head. Playing with the eq on your system can help a bit too.

@Q1776Q on a side note I love all the random background noises, and the different hh sizzles. Totally a raw recording. It would never fly by today's standards.

I’m 65 and I don’t think I’m ever gonna hit 180 with my kicks but I’m doing some creative shit you’re a freaking encyclopedia of licks though dude you’re a stud

Ya damn young punk... Get the hell off my lawn!!!😅 There was a time a few years ago that 160 seemed fast...But I practiced to a metronome EVERY DAY for HOURS on double bass speed.. now 220 is about my speed limit.. 200 is very comfortable. And at one time 200 was COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE for me!!!! I just CONSTANTLY try to do what is DIFFICULT for me to play. Thank you for commenting. And KEEP PRACTICING and PLAYING!!!!!

wondering is it the hats that are "creating" the illusion of ghost notes

    • @Q1776Q

I don't know... I personally do not like this version..with the ghost notes... I did a different version without ghost notes... I really hear no difference... I also do not hear any ghost notes on the isolated drum tracks from the studio recording...but many people insist there are ghost notes on the studio version.

Sorry to disappoint but his bass drum is playing all those notes. Yep. Crazy driving foot the entire song. It's a workout!

It's MUCH easier playing the notes on the BD the entire time..I've been playing it that way since it came out!
