Dug out the ancient machine my mum gave me 30 years ago to keep me occupied after I lost my dog two weeks ago, even with the thread nests and the thread jumping out of the top lever I've persevered and have made peg bags,a simple bag,bow ties for dogs, pajama trousers for my daughters. I've really enjoyed it and am now going to make a dress for myself not bad for self taught
I got the last one in my local store last night 😀. The lady at the checkout said that I was very lucky , as the day before, people were queuing up outside just to buy these for up to an hour before the store opened. Aldi sewing machines also always sell out immediately online. I couldn't believe it when I found it. It was buried under some cushion pads that I had gone in especially to buy, so I was meant to have it lol! 😂 The box was a bit battered but inside the machine was well protected inside a polystyrene moulded case. What a fabulous machine for the price. I couldn't believe how robust it is and quiet. It comes with lots of great accessories as well. I can't wait to experiment with all the different embroidery stitches, especially the alphabet, which has both upper and lower casing, much to my delight. It is a high spec model for a really reasonable price. I love it. BTW, Abi, I really love your channel as well ! 😘
Hi Abi, Thanks for this tutorial on the sewing machine, I am new to sewing and so far really enjoying my new found hobby and with Christmas, just around the corner I will be probably making thing to decorate my Christmas table, I liked the quick Christmas stocking you made and will be giving one to my niece for hanging around the fireplace, One thing that I have learnt so far about purchasing a sewing machine is that many so-called makes are very similar and in fact probably made by the same manufacturer but in a different casing and under another name and when one does their researching into whatever make they buy that it is well worth looking at youtube and all demonstrations to learn about them. same with buying an Overlock / Serger.. anyhow love all your video's and look forward to the next. which I hope is very soon, perhaps you will have a few coming up on Christmas items seeing as we are very close to that time.
Don't forget you can add chat - while we premiere x This machine is identical to many well known branded machines who use the same factory for production and design.
I'm so glad you've done this video. I'm a newbie to sewing and last year I purchased this machine as a 40th bday present to myself. On-line I could not find any videos featuring this machine. I still struggle with the self threading and need to practice it more step by step. I'm still figuring out what foot can do what when making items. Thank you for explaining so nicely how this machine can be used. Sheila.
I'm a learner at this sewing lark, I bought this same machine from Aldi last time they had them in stock, I've mainly used it to do minor seam repairs and love it. Recently I was hemming some bedroom curtains and the needle broke, however I have replaced the needle but now everytime I attempt to sew my thread snaps. Can you suggest where I have gone wrong please, maybe a tutorial how to replace a needle would be helpful. I have really enjoyed your tutorial and find it very informative and helpful, thankyou.
Thank you Abi. After years of trying to suss out the embroidery, I can now DO IT. YAAAAY. Your tutorials are amazing, I'm now going to sit and watch every one of them. Would you be able to recommend which brand of 'feet' work best for this machine? In particular a 'walking' foot. Thank you again.
You're right, I should have show me rethreading the machine. Not sure what happened, but it isn't good to leave it like that and not explain. Sometimes, threads get caught on low end models, but after rethreading, it's fine again.
Great review. Although the fonts are a bit dodgy it looks like a good entry level machine. My machine has a couple of hundred decorative stitches and fonts, but generally I tend to use the straight, zig zag, button hole and overlock stitches. Plus maybe the satin stitch now and then. The accessories with this look like a good selection, especially the twin needle and buttonhole foot. Do you know if it takes generic feet if someone wanted say rolled hem foot?
They're made by a company called SWNNE. I have a nearly identical machine that I got brand new at half price with extension table (extra $30) on Amazon and it's called Heureux Z6. There's a video of the machine here on RUclips. The Heureux is a heavy duty machine with a metal frame and bed plate. I'm really surprised at the quality. I'm a longtime collector of antique and vintage sewing machines and I needed something to to the fancy stitches and the nicer buttonholes. It fits the bill.
Abbie the Screw clamp is broken. for two days I've been phoning around it's a great machine. Now what do I do when you can't buy a part for your machine
Hi Abi, the automatic threading system reminds me of the Brother Machines. In the UK on the 1st October Lidl are offering Singer Overlocker /Sergers for £139 and Singer Sewing Machines, at £119.
Having problems with my machine need help ASAP it says lo and not stitching I’ve changed everything I’ve brought some more needles just inches the bobbin is going haywire to sos 🆘
i was also very much exited as i bought this machine but git a problem feed dog got down itself dont know how to fix it if you can help me ( even though there is feed dog setting and that is not working)
When I wound the bobbin, I cut the top thread too early, it unwound in the bobbin and got caught in the stitching. I worked it out after the video, so it was my error x
You can lower the dog feed and it allows you to free hand embroidery by moving the fabric yourself in any direction you want according to your design. When the dog feed is up-- usually that's the normal position for sewing anything. With dog feed down you can embroider/darning on fabric.
We bought ours in September but..we have had loads of problems with, since then, it has been back to Medion THREE TIMES and comes back with the same fault, i.e. it is grabbing the material and thread and pulling it down into the machine, has anyone else had any such similar problems.?
Hello Abi, thank you for this video, bought Aldi machine three weeks ago just unpacked it as I have been redecorating the loft to use as a workshop. Am looking for where to get the name tag like yours "Abi's sewing room" could you advice where I can get that done here in the UK and about how much it will cost. Many thanks
Aw, thank you! The sign was a birthday gift to my daughter from her friend many years ago. I’m not sure where it’s from, but I’m sure Amazon have them x
Just got one! It's quite lightweight in construction, but great price. The body is almost identical to my 7 yr old AEG 680 which packed up two days ago. Thanks for the video, Abi. I'm doing a bit of travelling at the moment, so this will be coming with me. If I hadn't seen your video, think I would still be procrastinating and would be missing out on sewing time😊

Meant to happen! Fabulously lucky. I hope you get great joy from it, I agree. It’s a cracking machine for the price. 😊
Oh yay! Thanks for this. Im setting mine up after being stuck in the cupboard scared of it for months and this is the machine i have
Another machine!! I LOVE IT. I'm so excited.
Thank you for tutorial, you inspired me to get to Aldi and buy one, l was lucky was last one. Xxx

Hi Sheila, I have made a more detailed how to use the threader video which may help if this one didn’t. I’ll make some more videos on the feet

Wonderful! Walking foot, I just trialled and error the cheap ones on eBay. They work. Just look for low shank x
14:48 = The machine snarled up, but the video was just cut to 'gloss over' the problem... What actually happened?

I wish our Aldi had these.

This machine looks Exactly like the Hereaux Swnne machine we can get in the USA. It is a nice machine, Abi!
Very cute presentation! Thanks,,
Got one today. My first ever trip to an aldi and it was only £50 :)
💫yay! We love a good bargain! Happy sewing
Please may you do a twin needle demo on this machine Abi? Mine isn't working all of a sudden and I've lost the manual lol
Abbie the Screw clamp is broken. for two days I've been phoning around it's a great machine. Now what do I do when you can't buy a part for your machine
Hello Abi, can I ask? Why have you brought another Sewing Machine from Aldi? 😁 Erica x
Can you make the writing larger ? This was such a helpful video
Abi, which foot plate do l use for straight stitching please
Hi im having trouble putting the new needle, keeps falling out, no matter how tight I make it... Help????
Thanks for Uploading.
You're welcome
Hi Abi, the automatic threading system reminds me of the Brother Machines. In the UK on the 1st October Lidl are offering Singer Overlocker /Sergers for £139 and Singer Sewing Machines, at £119.
I need to get rid of a few here x
Abi’s Den you do have quite a few, but it's great you review budget machines.👍🏼
Having problems with my machine need help ASAP it says lo and not stitching I’ve changed everything I’ve brought some more needles just inches the bobbin is going haywire to sos 🆘
Does this machine sound better than the Singer Patchwork machine?
It looks like the Brother InnovisA
i was also very much exited as i bought this machine but git a problem feed dog got down itself dont know how to fix it if you can help me ( even though there is feed dog setting and that is not working)
Turn the handwheel when you lift the feed dogs. They should come up eventually.
At 15.00s … the jam… this happens to me all the time! What did you do to remedy please?
I don’t have the machine anymore. I think just lifting the needle out and restarting from the top helps. 🥹 sorry x
Can you stop the machine from blipping? Or make it quieter?
Hey, is this sewing machine good for sewing denim material? Thanks!
Will be with the right needle I should think.
Hi, have you bought it and used it with jeans? I wonder if I should buy this machine because I know the repair is expensive or choose a Singer.
Please tell me At around 7:25 into the video a man spoke and said are you going to thread it up etc otherwise me earphones picked up a ghost 👻
I don’t think, 🤔 I did listen in again though to check
What was th3 crunchy sound? (I keep missing chunks of YT vids for some reason)
When I wound the bobbin, I cut the top thread too early, it unwound in the bobbin and got caught in the stitching. I worked it out after the video, so it was my error x
Hi Abi. Did you ever find out if you can use the machine without the pedal?
You need the pedal for this machine. The buttons on the front will reverse the stitch direction for you, or lift the needle up or bring it back down.
@@AbisDen Thanks for your reply.
Would you recommend this as a good first sewing machine?
It is nice actually.
Hi sorry can you please tell me the beat needles to get for this machine
How much plz
Can I sew denim in this machine? Do I need to change needles? Thank you 😊
You can sew denim, just take care because it isn’t strong x
@@AbisDen do I need a special needle? Thank you 🙏
My tension goes a lot and as wee as this fabric gets ‘sucked’ down and jams. How can I avoid this please?
If it’s at the start of sewing, that’s when the fabric gets caught. It’s best to start a little way in x
What’s the dog feet got to do with free hand embroidery, first time heard this free hand embroidery thank you xx

Hi, you mention dropping the feed dogs but nowhere in manual does it say how to engage (lift) then again. Pls ease help
Is there a lever at the back?
Did you ever figure out what caused the issue with the zig zag stitch? Is it working properly now?
You need to set tension and zig zig also put paper under fabric..
Pls like, share and subscribe

Vielen Dank für ihre Antwort

That's called a light box. They were all the rage a cpl years ago. Even keyring ones.
Got pedal keeps stopping
I am looking for one of these, but none in local Aldi
Just got one!
It's quite lightweight in construction, but great price.
