I've been window shopping for a new machine for a couple of months. This is the best video and the best explanation of a machine I have seen! Thank you so much.
Janome are amazing machines. I have Brother and Babylock and I love them, but I went with my friend to help her find a a Janome, she ended up getting the 9450 and omgosh that machine is well made and designed. I wish that I had purchased that machine too, She got a great deal and I have sewing machine envy. Not that mine are bad, but the lighting, the accu-feed foot and 9mm ability would all be nice to have.
I ordered the 9450 the day after this video came out. What a beautiful machine and a work horse! I was a little intimidated at first but now I’m getting in the groove. It’s an amazing, versatile machine and the foot lift saves soooo much time. I bought a Baby Lock Brilliant in November but saw this video and fell in love all over again. Thanks for allowing me to change machines and so quickly. What a great group you all are. I live in NJ but wish I live closer to your store. Glad I have the membership from buying a machine. Thank you and have a wonderful new year!
I love love my Janome 9400QCP and the very best thing is the stop start button. A complete game changer. I have had a sewing machine since I was 9. My first computer lesson I was reaching under the table trying to find the foot pedal.! Luckily Mary was a crafter so I wasn’t admitted to the funnyfarm. By accident I came across some videos from Janome Canada and a lovely young lady with multicoloured hair who explained it. I thank her every time. IAM past upholstery now or I would be craving that machine you explained so beautifully. Thank you❤❤👏👏
I have the Janome Memory Craft 9450QCP machine❤️ it handles everything. I do mostly quilting but also bag making, garment sewing and other hobby crafts. Best purchase ever. I’ve had it for 18m it’s my first computerised machine….so good.
I happened across one of Jan's videos a couple of months ago explaining different levels of Baby-Lock (Best sewing machine from 200 to $1000) and it got me wanting a Babylock so badly- now that I see this, I want it! (The AccuFeed!). I wish Cleveland wasn't so far away from Cincinnati- it's like 250 miles. ugh. I don't think there are any stores in Cincinnati that give you this kind of support and teaching/training. LOVE her explanations- I'm making notes. I have several vintage machines but my main machine is now 30 years old, a Viking and I love it, but I would like more features and it has been a LONG time in coming...
Awesome! We would love for you to drive and see us but we can easily ship you a machine and teach you online :) give us a buzz if you need anything at www.sewitonline.com
Hi Jan! So good to see you on this video. I recently sold the Crescendo I bought from you about 5 years ago and bought a Janome Continental M8. I cannot get over how great this machine is and what it does. The AcuFeed and HP foot and plate are the best thing I've ever seen in a sewing machine! I bought a Solaris a few years ago and now I'm thinking of either the Janome M17 or Bernina 990 to replace the Solaris. I would really like to have your opinion on that when you have a chance. Thank you!!
I own the 9450. The button she showed and said it lowered the feed dogs does not lower the feed dogs. Depressing it pops off the sewing plate as you saw. I lower the feed dogs by flipping a switch that is on the right side of my machine near the power cord. It’s a toggle type switch. Yes my machine is wonderful. Lots of demo videos on youtube too.❤
I have 3 Janome sewing machines my favourite is the 9450. I also have 2 Janome embroidery machines. Janome are the very best machines. Have used them for many years and also my mum had Janomes for many years. She had the very first Janome combined sewing and embroidery machine. Love love Janome❤❤❤❤
Good information. I have an MC15000 and bought it for the needle threader. It stopped working soon after I bought it. Missed the needle EVERY TIME even doing the needle up/down several times. So frustrating. Had it in the shop for an adjustment and it worked great in the shop. I took it home, used it twice and the dang thing started doing the same miss the needle problem again. I was then told that if I used anything but a 75/11 size needle, it won't work. Ugh I wish they'd told me that when I bought the dang thing years ago. Funny thing is, I usually use that very size needle (75/11) & had it in my machine when it stopped working, so I guess the tech just didn't know what was wrong. I wish they could REALLY figure out this issue and fix the dang thing. At this point I just hand thread the needle, it's much faster. This is the ONLY issue I have with this machine though. It sews like a champ in all other areas. My Brother machine that has a pull down lever for the needle NEVER misses. NOTE: I am just making a comment on the threader on my machine, not your service center as I have NEVER been there. I live in Texas. Several others have had the same issue on the FB page I am a member of also. I didn't purchase it from your store. I didn't get near the learning support it seems like your store gives customers. Your store seems very customer centered. :)
I’m having the same problem with my Janome MC 15000 and the support where I purchased stinks! They’ve never told me about the size needle. Then my bobbin winder broke, took it in for that, looked fine (they replaced the part that broke) but it doesn’t wind at all😩. So frustrating to buy a pretty expensive machine and not get the support. I may call this shop and seen if they can refer me to a local shop here in rural California that knows what they’re doing. Good luck!
I have. Juki TL18 as well and love it. I make lots of bags and use heavy fabrics. However I am a Janome girl at heart. I have the embroidery machine, the serger HD4 in black ( a call him Darth Vader!) and a little travel one. I have an old horizon 770 I bought used from a friend for quilting. I loved it, but it’s so old and is time for a new one. I need the bigger throat space, but don’t necessarily want a million stitches I’ll never use. Ugh! I wish they had the first one she showed with a bigger throat space!
@@victorialopez526 I agree I want something like the Baby Lock Jazz II that is a mechanical it has a few decorative stitches and has that large throat of 12 inches. I am a bit reluctant as soo many reviews have been negative saying that it is very difficult to maintain tension. My daughter just purchased one and if she does like it I may just get it to use on my Cutie breeze and use for my occasional need for zig zag or a couple other decorative stitches.
Since I bought my new machines I have always used the buttons and never the foot pedal, I was worried I would wear the buttons out. It was good to know tha the buttons are meant to be used as such. I am and never was able to use the foot pedal with coordination. Thanks for your demo.
i am glad to have a foot control. nothing better than that, if you do a lot of free motion quilting or applications. i need both of my hands on the cloth and i love my juki dx3 with its programmable foot pedal and additional knee pedal. in additon i have a treadle singer from 1936 and a singer heavy duty 4423. thats all i ever need.
I have the wonderful Janome 9480. I would like to know what thread you used to sew the colored decorative stitch sampler? Thank you for your very nice tutorial.

Very nice video of features. I’ve been looking at Janome, since my Pfaff 1470 finally bit the dust after 38 years. Only distraction is whomever is heavy breathing as they are filming is quite annoying. 😂
I learned to sew on my mom’s Janome. I quit because of that machine. Years later I started sewing again on different machines and love to quilt. Everyone raves about the new Janomes. I may have to test drive 😊. Are they comparable to Bernina or Brother? It looks similar to Brother?
