The booth announcer up to the point of sign-off was Wally Parker.
Now at what point did WABC: a) last air sign-off newscasts, and b) start running that SSB film (which replaced the Moog SSB)? Channel 7 still had sign-off newscasts as of July:

I believe that WABC TV started running the US Marine Corps SSB film around July 23rd, 1983!
