1. Bravo Papa Arthur. 2. Metromedia was HQ'd in Cleveland, Ohio. It had an AM and FM station. AM 1420 WHK had been the first radio station in Ohio. "In the Metropolitan area, W H K." WHK FM changed to WMMS, Metro Media Stereo, a station which remains.
Does anyone remember when they changed and updated the slides in the fall of 1985? A few months later in 1986 the channel did away with the late news headlines and then shortly after the channel became Fox 5 : (
WNEW's successor WNYW was still using the "Do you know where your children are today" yet as of a few years ago. I don't recall running across the homework PSA, though.
I'm from Chicago, never been to New York, but I hear channel 5 was the best station there. Only thing we got out of New York on cable was WOR-TV, which I hear is now, ironically enough, in a duopoly with 5.
WWOR-TV is absolutely nothing now. The news division shut down in summer 2013, and the facility in Secaucus, NJ is sitting to rot. Fox I believe still owns the building but there’s no productions on the network except court show reruns and countless hours of Family Feud.
I remember watching WWWF Wrestling back in the late 50s and early to mid 60s.Ray Morgan was the Host and Announcer. I wonder if they have this in their archives

There would have been a seventh season of _Too Close for Comfort,_ but it was scrapped after Ted Knight died in 1986 and thus, the show ended in 1987.
Wow....a Sermonette....we need this today!

Tom Gregory created the legendary "Do you know where your children are?"
And "Have you done your homework today?"
If I remember correctly, "Have you done your homework today" was right before the opening of MASH
I told you last night, no! Where is Bart? His dinner is getting cold and eaten.
WNEW's successor WNYW was still using the "Do you know where your children are today" yet as of a few years ago. I don't recall running across the homework PSA, though.
I'm crying over Star Spangled Banner Flag of Flags followed by the disco version of Over Hill Over Dale
This would have been recorded during the early morning hours of Friday, 4-13-1984.
Cool beans dude how are you doing my dear friend and brother from another mother
Great job Rollo

Would love to see more of these with Tom Gregory and Ed Ladd
I remember when " Too Close For Comfort went from ABC to WNEW.
That was called first-run syndication.
He misspoke there, those were NOT the first games of the that year's Stanley Cup playoffs, but rather the first games of the second round.
I wonder when the 1984 WNEW "Metromedia" news music heard @ 2:10 was introduced. Must've been the previous month. It was used until 1986.
I think Tom Gregory also did the "Starts Friday at a theater near you, check your local newspaper for showtimes!"
That is, if such pre-recorded notice from Howard Reig wasn't on the tape.
