Absolutely loving this series, really opening my eyes to how much I just smash the control stick around without much though for precision/timing.. done this drill set 3 days in a row now and already seeing drastic improvements in how easily I can execute these drills! (I know I'll burn out if I keep going at this pace I'm gonna start to chill out now that I'm more confident in executing the drills quickly and precisely). One bonus drill I like to add for anyone who is interested is after doing the 5 reps of dashing the whole stage length I do a dashing excersize using battlefields platforms as guides, a couple examples would be dash to the far edge of first plat, back to other edge, to far edge of second plat, back to other edge, ect... Also like mixing it up with dashing one direction and walking the other or purely dashing but going to the closer edge of the second and third plats then walking back the micro distance between that and the close edge of the plat before then back to dashing

When doing a boost grab instead of x grab I like to use the c stick for dash attack and then press grab and also a good way to practice it is yo use rosalina because if u do it right luma does a dash stack and you do a grab
This is cool but just using tilt stick makes the crouching turnaround pointless. Turning around normally is good for having fade back nair available but a lot of this is kinda pointless to practice and could be confusing to new players. Especially with how niche they can be.
@@MajeFGC dash back turn around crouch is not worth practicing over just c stick maneuvers. And I think the turnaround drill isn’t a good practice drill. It would probably be more efficient to practice landing aerials into turn around grab. The only thing that turn around gives you access to that you don’t have standing are front facing aerials, jab, and grab. I think having such a huge focus on turnaround on the first part of the guide is a bad idea for new players. It’s not super applicable for every character and could be confusing for newer players.
@@blank_ivysaur I'm a firm believer of dash back turnaround in this game and newer players, regardless of the character that they play, should have a flawless turnaround game. makes a huge difference no matter what level you're playing at. And dash back turnaround crouch is the most busted thing ever idc lol. This could be the Joker in me talking, but I def hear what you're saying. And I missed aerials into turnaround because I figured that I already smothered them with enough turnaround drills. And well, empty hop turnaround should have been in the aerial movement vid. I prob missed it though
@@MajeFGC yeah I checked the aerial and vid and it wasn’t in there. I think it would be better to just teach people how to do turnaround tilts with tilt stick since you never need to turn around on spot for tilts. Otherwise you would be walking to space which you would really want to have the ability to instantly attack out of rather than do a turnaround.
Not a Joker main but I’m gonna use this, movement is my biggest weakness atm. Also how do you dash continuously without the startup animation coming out at 4:50 ?
Thanks! this is useful for the entire cast. It's basically understanding your initial dash. To get that stop consistently, you have to know how long you have to dash before your running animation starts. Stop right before that. varies from character to character.
Trying to start going to tournaments. I’m doing this every day for the next 2 months see what the effects are. So far I can’t for the life of me get the timing on that ledge trump
Does anybody know if there are mod tutorials to turn a gamecube controller into a pro controller? Or to install OG Gamecube sticks and triggers into the Hori Gamecube Controller? I really need the Bluetooth and extra buttons but love the feel of the OG controllers and I'm upset no other company can make gamecube controllers like Nintendo
This is a Joker example: Think of your initial dash as a tool that you can use to make burst options AND most aerials whiff. Joker's dash shrinks his hurtbox, making him damn near impossible to hit if you use this right. adding the turnaround/duck will ensure that you can get a strong punish if you react accordingly. It's 100% better thank shield, spotdodge, and roll, because joker is best played with good movement over basic defensive options.
I did that dash cancel on the edge of the stage and platform and joker did a instant back air (kinda make sense tho why) either way now I have another way to drop out of a platform and do a back air easily now 😁
@@MajeFGC oh and you can fast fall it leading to another back air in case if you miss or for shield pressure but thanks for the guide really appreciate it!!!

I knew I was supposed to have them written down in the video! Didn’t think anyone would want them. I’ll put it all in the description here when I get the chance.
It helps if you tilt your stick upwards while trying to do this. Like a 65 degree angle for right and a 115 degree angle for left. Make sure you’re not immediately tilting to the other direction. This ensures that you have enough time to get the micro walk in the desired direction
@@MajeFGC Thank you for the advice, but should I practice ledge trump with Rosa or skip that step with her? I also play Greninja, who is in the top 10 of fastest fallers, so I can practice that with him. Also, do you have advice on how to practice crawls? That would be helpful as there are characters who can do it. I understand Joker doesn’t.
One way to do easy turn arounds is have tap jump off (you should anyway) and then use the top region of the stick to do turn arounds. You won't dash if you're in the top 90 degrees of the movement stick but any input on the opposite side of the line of symmetry will do a turn around. It makes doing Dash turnaround crouch easy. Dash, let the the stick come to rest for a frame so you don't get the slow turnaround then slam the stick up and a small amount opposite to your dash, then slam down. The other thing to watch is the acceleration of your inputs. Dashes only happen if you accelerate the stick quickly. So if you keep your motion smooth and relatively slow you can do turnarounds. But cheating with using the upper section of the stick is often easier and more consistent.
Hey Maje, I’m starting to really practice my fundamentals for Ultimate, and I’ve found this really interesting so far. I’m just having some trouble doing the Tweek Turnarounds, as I’m not quite sure what I should be looking for in a well performed one in order to make it consistent. Any tips?
Hey Maje! Do you think you’ll make another one of these now that the slingshot tech exists? I’d love to get my hands on a regiment for slingshot drills
What is the physical input for the turnaround duck? Are you still pulling stick up and opposite direction? seems weird and I cant figure out an efficient way to do it besides up angle stick to turnaround and flicking the stick down to duck.

Any tips?
You can do the turnaround by tilting diagonally up - don't try to sneak the stick with a light touch!
@@isaacbragg-gardiner2456 That makes it much easier! Thank you!
Hey Maje! Do you think you’ll make another one of these now that the slingshot tech exists? I’d love to get my hands on a regiment for slingshot drills
I don't exactly understand the difference in easy turnaround and the "tweek" turnaround, the look exactly the same for me, what is the difference?
dont forget if you change the z button you cant z drop anymore if you play rob or Diddy
Does ‘X’ - which is what we changed grab to, not work anymore? I do z drop stuff all the time with x working as the new z button
What is the physical input for the turnaround duck? Are you still pulling stick up and opposite direction? seems weird and I cant figure out an efficient way to do it besides up angle stick to turnaround and flicking the stick down to duck.
nah just get the turnaround and hold down. gotta see the turnaround happen though
When would I want to walk instead of dashing? Why is walking so important in neutral?
Is there a movement drill for characters that crawl?
howd u get that joker outfit?
I have a modded switch
