My grandmother _loved_ this game. It was the first 'time trial' family fun I had.
Good times.
...I hesitate to ask your age...
Because I have an aunt who has grandchildren (and even one step-great-grandchild) who is the reason I got into gaming.
And she's only in her fifties.
"Crash Bandicoot came out about 20 years ago" Hahaha nice comedic exaggeration Yahtzee... wait... oh god it DID.
PiousMoltar Feeling old already? I know I do, and I'm fkin 21
Time flies
I felt myself age when he said that line to...cause I KNEW it wasn't an exaggeration =(
Yeah rachet and clank is 17 years old
This makes me feel old and I'm fucking 13
Love how yahtzee uses a photo of an actual bandicoot instead of purposely mistaking for fox
Crash Bandicoot is easy bruh, I only lost my will to live 8 times! Per level!
I think Warped isn't that hard, but I am just saying that cuz me and my little sister played it just fine, until you get past about the 3rd set of levels.
Sounds like an average day for me, I might have to look into it
Warped has the issue that you need to do time trials to actually beat the thing and I despise time trials so am locked out of beating the game and getting the yellow gem
These sorts of things should always be optional not required to play certain levels
Jesus Christ that description of Naughty Dog's life planning was not only hilarious, but TRUE as well.
TheLegendaryVGA96 lets be honest, for that amount of money we'd all pimp ourselves out to Sony
yeah, they're called descriptions. like he said.
TheLegendaryVGA96 I mean they are owned by Sony. You could say that for any first party dev. Naughty dog is the only one to make 4 critically acclaimed franchises over 4 generations though
TheLegendaryVGA96 you must be new here.
can't say it didn't work out for them.
GAME THEORY: IS AKU AKU PLANK FROM ED EDD N EDDY?
No, plank is sans
Mysterious Jojo
Who put all these boxes for Crash to collect apples in? Could it be Bowser, from other videogame?
*Crash voice* Whoa!
Mysterious Jojo WAS I CTHULHU THE WHOLE TIME BECAUSE SOME OTHER GUY CALLED LAURENCE ONCE KNEW A GUY WITHIN TEN YARDS OF ANOTHER GUY WHO HAD A DOG WHO KNEW HP LOVECRAFT?
Game Theory: Did Crash Bandicoot design these levels himself to kill himself?
"The girlfriend mysteriously vanishes from all subsequent games, for the obvious reason of wanting to avoid turning anymore kids into sexual outcasts with deviantart accounts."
Enter Tawna in Crash 4, creating a surge of new deviant accounts within minutes of her reveal trailer
_Alternate timeline_ Tawna, but yeah.
I will admit that out of curiosity I searched for uhh... "Fan art" of that chararacter from the most recent Crash game to see how many art pieces were made of the character in a week of release and damn, some artists are quick. It's always fun to see how quickly the internet gets flooded with nsfw art after a new character is showcased in a big franchise. When you see well over a hundred images made within less than 2 days of a character reveal you know people have a problem.
"Okay, how about something like Sonic the Hedgehog meets.....actually, fuck it, let's leave it at that"
God, the laugh I had at that part! XD
mdbr2 The funny thing is, he was basically right? Apparently way back when the game was still in development all those years ago, the developers codenamed the project the "Sonic's Ass Game", due to the segments where you'd be running further into the screen following a cartoon animal
@@neferacronia6798 yup!
@@neferacronia6798Sonic's butt. XD
And for all Crash's perseverence of platforming around each level unlocking the bonus segments Tawna still manages to get swept away while you just miss her with your fingertips.
The only thing missing is the "Thank You Crash, But Tawna is in another *fu**ing* level" message.
Like a hairy Princess Peach.
Love the Bodger and Badger reference. RIP Andy Cunningham.
I am pretty sure the 3D-platforming genre is being slowly replaced by the open world genre. Open world games require some type of movement and they usually add challenges for certain feats in movement (i.e. speed) so a lot of open worlds have platforming in them. Just look at all the former platforming franchises that have made at least one open world game.
Oh geez, imagine if Caddicarus saw this.
I loved Crash Bandicoot when I was young, and I ended up being a sado-masochistic furry with a deviant art account full of vaguely perverted things.
I don't really think they are correlated, but I found the assertion hilarious nonetheless.
Username checks out.
Hey, you do you.
At first I thought this was a joke, but then I saw your profile picture
Screw the da account, what's your fa? Nyehehehehe
Well it could be worse, at least furry community is accepting AF
Nice to see Yahtzee is still honest
It's also a different jumping system, it takes the system from warped where you don't maintain momentum and applies it to 1 and 2 where the levels were not designed to have that mechanic and and vastly more difficult or nearly impossible...
Reviewing Dark Souls again Yahtzee?
Sardonic Satire Give him a break. He has to get across that he likes Dark Souls
This a meme?
LastSider Direct quote from games radar "...but there's no avoiding that the controls just mean that Crash Bandicoot has become Dark Souls"
you are so original that my grandma was making this joke during the war.
*stop comparing this game to dark souls as both are vastly different you dumb shit*
@SupahFly You just said you understand it to be a joke, then your next statement is you taking it 100% seriously. Wow, the internet is an amazing place.
You, sir, are the master of metaphors. Much respect.
I love how once again Yahtzee brings up dark souls a landmark for this generation of gaming or at least to show that he cares about it still. From Software did an amazing job and i doubt the franchise will be forgotten any time soon.
What is dark souls?
@@humanbeans4498 it's kinda meh but definitely the best game from FromSoft. You play as a zombie (kinda) who has to fight dragons and boars 'n' shit to get to the first ever fire and stop it from dying out in order to save the world though the game allows you to let it die out if you want. Kinda surprised you haven't heard of it lol
Aku Aku and Uka Uka are essentially Frampt and Kaath of the Crash Bandicoot trilogy. One wanting to prolong the age of Crystals while another one longing for a new age of Bandicoots.
Frampt and Kaathe have hidden agendas.
agha jan so does Aku Aku and Uka Uka.
AKU!?
no. TWO AKUS!!!!
I'd like a laaaarrggeee....
I, for one, would actually really appreciate being able to wear twice as many crocs
*The High Road separates boys from men*
High Road platinum relic separates men from gods
John Petro i gave up on the high road, due to frustation that the controls and colliders werent as good as in the original. and time trials are one of the reasons i think warped is the weakest from the trilogy. :/. so back to the store you go! i still have the real versions xD
dr nikker warped is the best by FAR! Like I played through the first 2 but haven't felt the need to go back or collect. Warped however I platinumed already and it was miles more fun to do so. The challenge is just stupid in the first one. There is too much of a good thing
Damn skippy it did
Stormy Ascent platinum relic seperates gods from elder gods.
It seems that I'm late by a few days but happy 10th anniversary of ZP, I've been a fan since it was a short on G4's X-Play. Cheers for the next 10 years.
No matter how much a game is liked by anyone and regardless of how critical Yahtzee is of it, it's hard for him to ever rile anyone over it because he's just so fucking funny. And with his speech's word count per minute he doesn't really give you the time to.
The big brothers jab is too good. I do indeed recall many a game in which I had to call on my big brother to get past the hard bits, heck I'm an "adult" and I still occasionally feel the urge to call on one of my brothers to help when I get stuck in a game.
As a big brother fuck you
Only calling us at particular hard bits when we haven’t actually tried the game is more frustrating for us because we don’t have the basic controls down
Even easy games can be a Jain because you don’t understand basic mechanics and your nether given enough time to properly test things out
Crash was remastered almost perfectly with all of the fun and frustrations intact, but looking 10x better. I'm happy.
It's weird but IMO it doesn't really look any better, the original was just as colorful and more distinct, but that's perspective I guess
so.....he liked it?
It's Dark Souls, of course he liked it.
Kreyain yes, but it reminds him that platforming in anything but Exact 2D, is always going to result in issues with depth perception, and adding that to crash's original issues with depth perception, it requires more than just skill and is kinda obtuse.
pooper scooper I will eat your dog if you don't shut your mouth
We all know that super sand is just lergend
Eustace Bagge where is Courage??!
Hovering over the video thumbnail and seeing an illustration of a giant wave with NOSTALGIA written over it really gives you the idea of what you can expect from the video itself
Twice as many crocs might just be enough.
*Girlfriend shows me Dark Souls* "I prefer a real challenge" *Girlfriend shows me Bloodborne* "I said a real challenge" *Girlfriend shows me Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy* "Perfection..."
Challenge indicates that it's possible to overcome
It's Just Pj Stolen Magneto meme
where do you acquire one of these...."girlfriends"...?
"Girlfriend" is when you trick an unwise female into thinking you're not a total loser.
+JustinCage I know, i just thought of commenting it is all plus, isn't there always a stolen meme commented on a video?
...But Rayman 2 was an actually good 3D platformer.
Eh I guess your right, but Rayman 3 > Rayman 2
That's a point! Haven't seen it mentioned in these videos on N Sane talking about 3D platforming. Edit: also, Rayman 2 > 3!
Butter of Sorrow didn't rayman 2 have tank controls? Thats all I can remember from playing the PC version
No, it has analog. Even the PS1 version.
Rayman 1 beats all of them even to this day...
I absolutely adore the gag at 04:29
Unlike the rest. Spyro the Dragon actually holds up well as an old school 3D platformer.
Time to watch Yathzee bitch about Crash Bandicoot being harder as heck and the obvious Dark Souls comparison.
Dark Souls Trilogy got remastered
Got remastered in furry form
Kurt Adams and bloodborne 2 .( I'd do anything for it)
No... please don't... Dark Souls is already perfection.
dark souls 3 remake confirmed
Dark souls is far from all it could be, although the vision of the Devs may have been perfect.
4:38 Holy Shit I loved playing Gex back in the day!
Who opened a can of whoop-ass?
Yahtzee you should do a video about the Watchmojo video about you.
and maybe if they make another list, since they make the same list every 2 years, that video could be number 1
lol they did a video about him? what was it about more specifically? like top ten "zero punctuation" reviews?
Phoenix Ward Exactly, no they did exactly that. No joke.
Phoenix Ward Yeah "Top ten greatest Zero Punctuation videos"
Max Madmax While I´m not biggest fan of Watchmojo, somehow they really shaped my life. Their clickbait anime girls made me watch anime, and their top ten anime lists made me spend thousands of hours of my life watching those Japanese cartoons.
They also got me to listen to hip-hop, even though looking back their rap lists were kinda wack. But still without them I wouldn´t have found a passion for rapping, which is my primary hobby nowadays.
Their top 10 TV shows lists got me to know the basis of a few shows, which I later talked about with my classmate, who became one of best first friends, even though I never seen those shows, just knew them from Watchmojo videos.
They made me play a lot of classic games, watch a lot of film masterpieces, and even taught me some cool facts that make me sound clever when talking with people.
I would say they try too hard to go for the mainstream picks, causing them to choose the same things again and again, thus making the same lists.
I can´t really remember them making me laugh, or even enjoy their videos, but they really made my life better, so I remember thankful to them.
"[...]I became convinced that something fundamental had changed, besides dimmed vision and stiff hands from twnty years of self-abuse."

NICE GRAPHICS I'D LIKE TO GET MY HANDS ON THAT GAME!
I still watch these on the Escapist Magazine website cuz they still wanna see "Those fucking" end credit rants and animatics. But you bet I'm gonna watch them here again!
Mario 64 still has the most satisfying swimming controls in any 3D game. If you've been any depth lower than 0 in any body of water deeper than an outdoor swimming pool, that's how it works.
They did Plain Mario dirty in Odyssey by ripping that away from him just so Fish Mario would look better
I played through mario 64 recently and I think it's aged remarkably well. Not sure why people keep using it as an example
TheLastGentleman Mainly because the controls are very clunky, the graphics are bad(for today standards) and even the music just sounds old as hell.
It is a very dated game that people who denied it are probably People blinded by Nostalgia and still think the N64 controller was design for human beings.
I'm not saying it's aged perfectly. Nothing does. I'm just saying that it's held up better than most early 3d platformers.
Most early 3D platformers were actual shit when they came out. Mario 64 being one of the handful that were good at the time ensured that it would age better than most early 3D platformers. Also if we include 3D platformers that came out after Mario 64, there are ones that have aged a lot better than 64. Banjo Kazooie for example is essentially just Mario 64+: It's graphics still look pretty good today due to going full cartoon and looks much smoother and has much better animation, worlds and has more/better writing. On the other end of the scale, Sonic Adventure aged very poorly due to Sega trying to make everything seem "real" and now it just falls into uncanny valley at best. imo, Super Mario 64 has aged 'okay' by virtue of it being a pioneer of the genre and not trying anything nearly as complex as the games that followed it.
It _did_ age perfectly - in that it has the same problems now, as when it came out. Mario controls like a retarded ton of bricks, and the camera has a weird fetish with not letting you see what's in front of you (or to the side of you, depending); unless you switch the camera to a view that mostly shows Mario's ass, along with the control sensitivity of a maxed out X and Y axis. Not great qualities for a 3D platformer.
It has quaint pleasant graphics, good music, and that Nintendo charm, but it's a constant fight with the clunky controls when it comes to gameplay.
Yahtzee, never change. Everyone of your rants has made me laugh.
Crash was such a feature of my childhood I didn't even think about how he is TOTALLY A SONIC RIPOFF lmao , and Sonic himself is a time capsule that should have been left behind in the 90s... haha
Slightly more upbeat than I expected. Mint
Mmmmmm Princess Di jokes. Now it really feels like the 90s again
My girlfriend when she heard me listening to Yahtzee for the first time: "Please turn that off, his voice is stressing me out!". xD
Jimmy Björnholm what’s a girl friend
InfinitySeishin It’s a type of aperture pie.
Holy fuck, his joke about the deviant art accounts. I had to pause it and just laugh for a full couple minutes. Fuck me. Top shit
aw man, I booted up my old PS1 copy to relive some of that childhood excitement. I always remembered it being easy like Kirby. Boy was that a mistake.
SM64 has aged beautifully tho... The n64 controller hasn't, but play it on the Virtual Console with a modern controller and it's as good as it ever was.
Ah yes, the Dark Souls of video games before Dark Souls was even a thing
Actually that's Castlevania.
The entire '80s wants to talk to you.
If anything would be the dark souls of video gaming before dark souls came out; it would be super ghouls and ghosts, or ghosts and goblins... You know what, any of the games in that series would classify for being dark souls before dark souls.
amen Castlevania was harder than steel balls at a monster truck rally.
I'd say the whole dark souls whatnot is pretty much reinventing the wheel. This is like 4th time or more in gaming history that being buttshit hard being trending.
I lost my shit at "the inverse Donald Duck"
To fans of ZP, I present a challenge: Watch the next (or previous) ZP without volume and see if you can get the gist of his arguments and points with only his visual metaphors.
In other words, yes, he enjoyed it, but it reminds him that platforming in anything but Exact 2D, is always going to result in issues with depth perception, and adding that to crash's original issues with depth perception, it requires more than just skill and is kinda obtuse.
Snorlaxation actually. i think there was nothing wrong with depth perception in the originals, but in the trilogy, its fucked up royally. and dont even mention the meshes and jump mechanics...
Thank you, I feel like people are so busy wearing nostalgia goggles for the originals and making fun of people that find the remastered gameplay difficult to actually examine the new game critically as its own product.
Snorlaxation but 3d platformers are more fun and less served. At least we got this and yooka laylee and Mario odyssey this year. Ratchet and Mario have been handling that burden for far too long! MORE 3d platformers!
dr nikker the depth perception issue in the originals (and remastering) is you never quite know how far you are from the enemies you're running forwards to, which often and easily leads to you attacking before you even reached them, and them then attacking you.
John Big Boss I do enjoy 3d platform games when they're done well, and while yooka laylee was disappointing, I can't wait till Mario odyssey.
However 3d platform games are easy to mess up if the handling of the characters/friction physics mechanics don't allow for solid control
Is it just me or is Yahtzee talking a lot faster
A little bit yeah, but I think it's due to "The Power of Editing".
You should watch Yahtzee's older videos. He definitely slowed down his speaking in his more recent videos.
I'm guessing it's one of those computer voices? I guess there are several people that work on a script and then they just slide this into a voice program?
tsohgallik what?
..Or it could be a play on the Zero Punctuation thing, no punctuation like commas and full stops in the script means no pauses between sentences. The faster he gets the review done the sooner he can take a breath.
I think this is your best episode ever man.
I was waiting for this one to come. Well said!
we get it you like dark souls
Damn. He spoiled He-man, for me
3D back then is what VR is now. Something fresh & exciting but still needs a lot work
They actually brought back Tawna for Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled, along with the podium girls from the original game. May the furries with Deviantart accounts continue to thrive!
>Mario 64 aging bad
Woah, slow down there partner
you should review klonoa
Don't worry, Yahtzee.
Those weird kids were always like that, they just could have gone a bit longer without realizing it.
Love the music in your intro
Mario 64 still holds up well though
Crash Bandicoot + Dark Souls= Praise the Wumpa Fruit

Do you seriously think removing Tawna prevented any social outcasts from creating deviant art accounts? You are very sadly mistaken.
Yahtzee.
I love you.
Your writing is fantastic, knowledge is deep and personality is charismatic.
You're my idol. Thanks for being there for me to look up to.

turns out the corner strategy is actually really effective
"Dead Princesses" HAHAHA!
I was waiting for another spin on the nostalgia spanking saddle. Glad the see Yahtzee hasn't lost that rhythm after Yooka-Laylee.
I disagree, I find platformers to be extremely fun, rewarding and challenging and ages like candy, aka it looks shit and tastes a bit funny to start with but it's just as good when you get back to the candy that didn't go weird from the air exposure.
The mini games where they try to mix up the formula however was probably already off to begin with.
I don't think anyone said they weren't fun, mate
It's not a problem with platformers. It's a problem with 3-d platformers. Games like Mirror's Edge are one in 1000 when it comes to a smooth, enjoyable platformer with good controls and sense of space.
MartianBlobfish He never said they weren't fun. He said 3d platformers might not be
TacitIron Hav except for A hat in time Yahtzee liked that one because it’s really good and the controls are tight
D08 He also liked Mario Galaxy and some others. I think his point is there's a lot of challenges to 3d platforming and not nearly as many benefits so it's often not worth it.
you can never tell if he likes the game or hates it
Carlos Christ Occasionally it's absolute, like with Portal or Sonic Boom
Merritt Animation
Yeah but that’s when everyone knows wether a game is shite or not. Sonic Boom was a broken mess and portal is god tier. Usually these days when a games good instead of praising it he talks about something else.
If he likes it he usually hints at it in the beginning or the end, or just flat out says it in the middle before violently shitting on everything he doesn't like
I'm pretty sure the footwear industry would try and convince people that have two extra leg grafts that are non functional and detrimental to life is cool just to sell twice as many shoes.
Then that'd raise the price of shoes due to "supply shortage."
And we can't revolt because we keep tripping over our non-functional hind centaur legs.
"Those fucking." Hahahaha.
Why 3D? Because it was new, exciting, and different, so everyone had to drop everything they were doing to try to throw "3D" into everything. It's really no different than today where developers basically go "Nonono, all wrong, it needs to have OPEN WORLD and be NON-LINEAR! I know we normally don't do that, but drop everything we're actually good at to aim at the buzz words!" Or, hey, maybe you could stop trying to keep up with trends and actually MAKE A GOOD FUCKING GAME.
Even if developers make good games, it means little if the gaming community ignores quality works. Part of the reason developers obsess over buzz words is because we, the consumers, obsess over them, too. If we want developers to stick to what they're good at and stop trying to pander for a buck, we have to use our voices and money to tell them that we'll still support games that don't exist just to tick boxes. The developers are not entirely to blame.
But people won't do that. They're just as head over heels for buzz words as developers, so even if there's a good game that breaks the pattern, it's not going to change the gaming scene.
blame the consumer, not the developer
unless it's nintendo cause they really don't give a fuck about what sells more
Games are primarily for children and teens, two audiences that give absolutely 0 fucks about what's "good for the industry".
3D games and everything you just compared it to, are very different. It wasn't chasing a trend, it was the next evolution, like how years before games went from a single screen to scrolling screens. 3D brought new possibilities, developers weren't loosing their creative license by making 3D games. 2D and 2.5D were also still being made, they didn't just disappear.
Even if they had released consoles that just made 2D games, you still would of got the issues of early 3D games, only a generation later with better looking graphics.
Uh oh Yahtzee, might want to be careful with call the game hard or all the "hardcore" gamers will come out of their burrows to spit on you and tease you about wanting hand holding.
You say murderous difficulty, but I never saw it like that. Sure it was hard, but I kept going because it was just so damn fun watching Crash die in the most spectacularly hilarious ways. On top of that though, there was something to be said about games with collectibles that I really loved. Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie, the Crash and Spyro games, Mario 64, OoT, etc., were all games that kept me coming back because I wanted to beat them as close to 100% as possible. Maybe I'm just mad, but the difficulty of the Crash games actually made me like them more, because it was harder to complete 100% and took more time, whereas completing the other aforementioned games was far easier.
The Crash series also had some pretty sweet music.
Hey you fixed the volume level on the outro music. Good job!
I got pissed by people complaining about Crash's difficulty.... in Dark Souls culture, (no I'm not comparing Crash+Souls!) where Souls/Bloodbourne are adored for difficulty, but Crash is "too hard"!???
Tom Soar but you are making a direct comparison.
To quote Yahtzee himself:
"The fact is , Crash Bandicoot's murderous difficulty is more often related to things other than skill"
Tom Soar there's nothing wrong with difficulty, as long as the controls you are using are designed for the actual game you are playing (referring to the homogenised jumping controls) for me it makes the first game in the remake a pain to play, when i remember how thight and fair the original control was
I really don't remember Crash Bandicoot being that difficult. Sure there were a few parts where the difficulty ramps up, but they didn't get super difficult. Now Skullmonkeys for the PS1 on the other hand is difficult, but it is a 2d platformer... So I don't know if that counts, but I suggest you try it, because the difficulty is on par with some of those NES games.
If i ever have a kid I'm going to do a graphics test on them
Start with an NES or SNES (Probably minis)
Then move onto the N64/PS1
Then PS2/Gamecube
Etc, etc
Maybe the kid wouldn't be a spoiled brat, wanting everything at the best graphics and not giving a shit about gameplay
So you don't want him to have standards? Me and my slightly older brother basically went through the same thing and I can look back and see how shitty those games looked and played. I used to think The Matrix PON was the fucking shit, but looking at it now... it's pretty bad, bad controls, terrible framerate, terrible graphics, like a shitty version of Arkham Asylum.
Good points, luckily i probably won't have a kid, my face is the best birth control method
SENTRYBUSTER IS SPY Interesting idea I geuss
Just played through this. It's hard for sure, but it's also one of those games that's way easier to play a second time after you've figured out 'the trick' to everything.
3:47 no truer words have ever been said XD
...but Mario 64 holds up stupidly well.
That's what i thought too. I hate that yatzhee gripe with platformers is so negative, when it's really easy to tell which ones have solid design and learning curve.
I half expect him to lump rayman 3 with bubsy 3d
I assume he meant graphically.
Platano Cruz
Bubsy 3D was the best game of that year, what with it making every other game look better in comparison.
I agree with Geeeee8, just watch the game grumps struggle with it since they didn't grow up with it
I played Mario 64 recently.
No it doesn't hold that well at all, really.
It holds well in comparison to other games from that era, I'll admit, but it's not exactly smooth sailing anymore.
Wow, I got bashed for how harshly I reviewed this game, and even I think he was overly harsh here
TGX Game Reviews Reviews are a mix of entertainment and actual critique, different critics have varying ratios focusing on one or the other.
It is generally accepted by fans of the zero punctuation series (so if you're new here I don't blame you) that Yahtzee's review to comedy proportion is 90% jokes/odd analogies to 10% coherent, non-nitpick criticism. So, unless he's reviewing a sonic game, Yahtzee isn't typically judged for his overtly harsh criticism, as he talks about every game (even his favourites) in this manner.
Except Portal 1. He fellated that game like no other in the approximately 45 seconds I've ever heard him speak of it.
Crash Bandicoot has special place in the hearts and minds of its players.
Every goddamn critic hates the "run toward the camera" levels, but those are always the most fun
mario 64 shits on crash
ZMM Not really. If you mean by how overrated M64 was in the first place than yes it does shit on Crash.
But Crash on every basis is way less dated than 64. Not even the first crash game is as dated as M64.
BigHailFan it means rated higher than it should be.
ZMM nope and crash team racing is better than Mario kart 64
John Big Boss A man of culture, I see
BigHailFan
Though it is overrated.
I honestly hate mario 64 because it's an overrated outdated game that was mediocre
Itz Petey Pablo musta done something right to still be this popular
Itz Petey Pablo it was a masterpiece for its time.
Islam is still popular, and it literally outlaws fun... Popularity =/= quality or enjoyability.
And I respect that you are entitled to have your own ignorant, slackjawed, knuckle-dragging Cro-Magnon opinion.
If popularity doesn't equal quality, then nothing does.
1:03 TBH the working name for Crash Bandicoot was “sonics ass game”
"We don't want to turn any new kids into furries with DA accounts. That's why, instead of a buxom girlfriend, we gave our main character Crash an underage sister! ...hmm, that might not have been the right move."
Spyro pulled off 3d platforming flawlessly.
Ride to Hell and Knack were the first two Zero Punctuation videos I ever saw. I got into them by recommended videos while watching Angry Joe's reviews. Remember Yahtzee's comment about how Knack being the PS4 launch title was basically coming around back to PS1 era games and how the words Crash Bandicoot kept crossing his mind?
To be fair, Jak and Daxter also made many “Those Fucking” levels as well. The main one being “that fucking slum level” in Jak 2 with no checkpoints, or “those fucking” turret sections...
Crash and old 3-D games had teeth. Few games today capture such difficulty, (See Rayman) but even still, its fun.
Yahtzee & Crash have the same crazy, hands-in-the-air expression in the thumbnail
wow, Bodger & Badger O_O
Thats a throwback an a half....
this video needs it's own Zero Punctuation video
10 years of Zero Punctuation
