I bought a 1793 chain cent at an estate auction it came in a huge lot of copper coins sent mine to PCGS came back as Genuine XF but cleaned! Since I only paid $3200 for the entire lot it was a killer deal! the other coins are worth approximately another $2000 .. but the chain cent even cleaned is in the $7 to $10K value! cheers from Park City Utah lovely collection!
Hey Rob, love the S1 Chain Cent. Getting any example that has a full date is almost impossible. Even with the corrosion it’s is a spectacular coin. Congrats.
Thank you for not soliciting a coin shop or website in every single one of your videos! Other coin channels on YT haven't figured that out yet. I like how you have been successful but have not let it go to your head.
Rob send that good looking Morgan that should have been graded 6364 maybe tip NGC. I've had a lot of coins come back cleaned from P CGS sent them to sent them to NGC and they grated out fine. Not every time but most of the time worth a shot for a little bit of money that was a nice Morgan.
That was fun! Nice going on the chain cent, the hoard dollar, and the 1909 -S VDB (Now we know why you had the other one up for auction). I know I still have a lot to learn when it comes to grading coins, but I don't see the "cleaned" aspect of the 1892-S Morgan. Looks good to me! I know PCGS is busy, but half a year for 5 coins? I'm right in the middle of putting together a submission to them, but that is making me think twice about it. Still, I enjoyed another classroom education in the art of grading coins. Thanks RFT!!!
Nice haul! I've got an 1883 "no cents" V nickel on the way, and when it gets here I'll have a complete nickel typeset. I'm gonna work on my penny typeset next, but I'm stopping at 1794 for now because the 1793 pennies can cost a small fortune. I still need an 1859 Indian Head Cent, a modified matron head cent, and everything before the classical head
Love the grading videos. Nice to see the vf 20 on the 1909 s vdb. I have a xf 45 w/ a CAC sticker on my 1909 s vdb and I love it. Keep the good stuff coming!!
Beautiful chain cent! Owning both varieties has been on my bucket list for a very long time! Sadly I still own neither one of them. Great video as always and congrats on the 09 upgrader!
Very interesting and informative video Brother. Not everyone is aware that the coins are not graded by a single grader. Each coin is looked at by five different people. It is to prevent favoritism from a single person.
Wow! I wonder how much that 1797 Ameri chain coin is worth? That’s a cool die break. That’s exactly what I have on my Gold 1910 Indian eagle coin. It has a huge die break on the reverse going all the way through the United States of America on the reverse of the coin. Is that a known variety coin??
I love unboxing videos - and that chain cent is amazing! That 1909-S VDB ain't so bad either. It would be nice if PCGS was a little more lenient on cleaned coins - especially when they haven't been polished or buffed. I would like to know how they can tell if a coin has been cleaned - and, if heavy toning doesn't affect the grade, why should light-cleaning? Another great video!
As someone who discovered this hobby on my own and didn't know the traditional "rules" of coin collecting, I have to say I prefer cleaned coins over toned coins. Precious metals should be nice and shiny imo. I don't clean coins myself but I certainly appreciate the lower prices!
I sent coins in that were purchased on eBay sent to NGC I wish they told me they were cleaned because I would never of graded then or paid for service…$😢
Great video Rob. I have been been learning a lot from you so thank you very much for your explanations. May I ask why you use PCGS instead of NGC? And since yourr planing on breaking that 09-S out of the slab, would you send it to NGC? Also, do you have a Patreon where I can Sub. And learn about properly storing coins? Or could you give me some pointers or advice? I’ve done some light reading but keep reading different things.
I’m sure there are a lot with straight grades nicer. To be exact, PCGS has graded 155 coins with straight grades but only 51 are VF or better. All are brown. No RedBrown or Red examples. This is for the Ameri. examples and not the other reverses.
Overall I think you did good on this submission. Really too bad about the cleaned Morgan dollar. I don’t know how to identify cleaning like that. It looks good to me.
Without a variety and UNDER $300 in value, they would be $27 per coin. Over $300 in value starts arounf $38 and then adding a variety designation is another $18.
I have three coins I'm considering sending in. However, I have absolutely no experience with this and don't know anything about it. How am I supposed to know what a coin's value is? How am I supposed to determine what grade I want a coin to get? It seems to me that those are the things that PCGS is supposed to be figuring out, not me. Can you help me out with this?
I use the PCGS Coin Grading guide to estimate the grade and use their value guide to assign value. I also have a video on submissions, if you want to watch another video: ruclips.net/video/znhMSQBRLu4/видео.html
@@RobFindsTreasure thanks for responding and providing that link. I have watched the video and will be referring to it as I fill in the form when I decide I'm ready to submit the coins. Because of what it cost you to submit those seven or eight coins, I'm guessing that my cost maybe a little lower since it's only three coins, but I noticed that for coins between $301 and $2500 the fee is $70 now. It's only $35 if the value is less than $301. At least, that's what it showed on the page I read for how to submit coins. That page was very confusing to me.

also another great video :)
That chain cent is so cool. I've never even seen one in person.
Thanks for sharing. I really like that chain coin. It's a nice coin to have in your collection.
Great for sharing your collection
Great historic coins...

Installed in properly. That is the perfect word for this coin.
Congrats! You did great. Every order gets that one surprise DETAILS grade. Just the way it is. Love the coins. Cheers!
Thank you!
Very nice coins. Congratulations on the grades.
I have ALWAYS wanted a Fugio cent in any graded condition.
is chain cent and fugio the same thing?

👍🏻what the value of the chain cent
In that slab, about 10-12k
I’ve never heard of a chain cent until now but I am a collector. Thanks for the information Rob!
Awesome unboxing!! I really enjoyed seeing what you received for grades
Love your PCGS reveals!
Glad you like them!
Loved seeing that ⛓️ cent 😍

Or RED Brown mint state 09s VDB be nice too
Excellent video 👍👍
Thank you 👍
The 1793 Chain cent is insane!
Enjoyed watching and learning , thanks Rob 👌👍

4 month wait time? Ridiculous! Went through same wait period at PCGS and I've never used them again.
Nice coins! That chain cent is awesome. I've only seen one dug in a video. This was a learning experience for me. Thanks for sharing. 💖💯
Thanks for watching
Pretty awesome to own a Chain Cent, no matter the condition! Sweet!
I totally agree! Thanks brother!
Amazing coins Rob!! Rough grade! 🤘
nice coins no doubt about it that chain cent first time I ever saw one of those

Great coins there brother, too bad pcgs is sooooo strict on these grades Rob especially that cleaned one.
Very interesting and informative video Brother. Not everyone is aware that the coins are not graded by a single grader. Each coin is looked at by five different people. It is to prevent favoritism from a single person.
There are 5 pack of coins inside 👍👍👍
These coins are better than my whole collection
Rob was the Genuine not gradable cost the same or extra to get them slabbed?
Same, but you can opt for no slab on any genuine coin.
Nice pickups. I kinda prefer the chain cent over the 1909-S VDB. I know, blasphemy!
Hi Rob, that Fugio Cent is amazing. I was wondering what exactly rftokens are and what can I do with them? Thanks!
Or a brown mint state wouldn't be bad to have either In a 09 s VDB
Very true!
That chain cent is amazing even though it has corrosion. 🤩

Because toning is natural
Rob, are you going to make an announcement about the World Coin Channel? Just curious how it is all going to work! Awesome to see
Probably the most unique coin I have held is an 1804 presentation dollar. I think 4 or 6 are known to exist.
Like 14 are known to exist
I sent coins in that were purchased on eBay sent to NGC I wish they told me they were cleaned because I would never of graded then or paid for service…$😢
How did you get the chain cent?
I purchased it along with a lot of other copper cents (large cents and half cents) quite a bit ago.
@@RobFindsTreasure that’s cool!

Those coins are way out of my league. I’m lucky to have a 1909P VDB.
Hello

How many 1793 "chains" are nicer than yours?

Hair lines or a break of luster on unc coins.
How did you get the 1793 coin
Grading makes me drink...lol
You left out some very important information. How much does it cost to get those coins graded?
Without a variety and UNDER $300 in value, they would be $27 per coin. Over $300 in value starts arounf $38 and then adding a variety designation is another $18.
@RobFindsTreasure Thanks buddy. 😊
some day I will have something to send in but not today
Rob what microscope brand do you use? Thanks Ed
I use this one brother: amzn.to/2JFQtcS
Wowsers. How did you manage to find a Chain Cent AND get a VF details grade on it? The fates are shining on you, brother!
That 1891 Morgan is not cleaned WTF are they thinking??
Looking at the obverse I agree with them, it’s cutting it close but I feel like you’re just trying to disagree with them.
I’m new
Love your content ty ty .
Thank you!
Can anyone explain to me how to grade coins? I have a really nice Peace dollar I’d like to get graded, just don’t know how.
And it's in environmental damage too versus cleaned
Well you know pcgs i guess they could do a better grade dont never understand them❤
Tnx
To be fair ppl always say they could do better, they go off of what they want.
Rob what kind of return time are we looking at with pcgs. I sent an order in 4 weeks ago and it's still in receiving
It takes 90-120 days lately, but this one took almost 6 months!
Thanks for the info brother!
