In this video, I'll be hunting a box of Pennies that is all customer wrapped rolls. I got these rolls from a trade with one of my subscribers Jim - after he told me that a couple has been bringing several wrapped coins to the bank and that he has already hunted one and it produced a lot of good finds. Obviously I was very interested and excited to do this hunt especially after hunting the last 2 customer wrapped penny rolls from our trade: 1st Box Hunt Video: ruclips.net/video/EWM1HnwuMAI/видео.html 2nd Box Hunt Video: ruclips.net/video/qKzA-83iFI8/видео.html As you know - it's rare to find a super key date for any coin in circulation, so your best bet is to familiarize yourself with the error and variety coins as those are normally not as easily spotted and you can still find some GREAT FINDS out there. I've been watching your videos for quite a while but this is the first time I've ever left a comment. I still remember the moment I fell in love with coin collecting. I stumbled across 3 partially filled Whitman folders my father had started...Lincoln pennies, Jefferson nickels and Roosevelt dimes. I was 12 yrs. old. I'm 57 now. My father told me I could have his "coin collection" if I promised not to spend the coins...I still have the folders. You remind me how fun this hobby is! To this day, 90% of my collection is from coin roll/change hunting or metal detecting. Thank you Rob for taking the time to make videos.
Wow Rob!!! Another nice hunt! I didn't get that many blazers in my box but who cares after finding the 09-S VDB. Gosh, with the 6 boxes combined, almost a full set.. congratulations Rob and I will have to send you a list of what I need to fill my set. Not many left to get.
jim cantor just let me know brother! Yeah - only a 14d and a 22 plain are missing - other than maybe a few teens S mints. Would be awesome to find a variety as well but the hunts continue...
i had a awesome find yesterday in customer wrapped rolls in the bank! i found a 1909 VDB penny! i just cant believe that i found a 1909 vdb penny when its customer wrapped rolls! i'm definitely going to keep searching to find more
If I ever got a box as good as you have.... I promise you will be able to hear me yelling all the way from NC to TX. Super, super box. Jim has some great connections. Thanks Jim........and Rob!!!!!
Unbelievable, enjoyed OMG are you kidding Unfortunately the 1944 to 1958 is what is known as a resumed coin and are only valuable in MS+ condition. The 1924D in my opinion is in VG condition and valued at about $20. The 1912S in my opinion is in VG condition and valued at about $15 The 1910 is not cleaned, it looks like it may have been in tip or bus tray.About $2 All in all you made my evening, thanks Rob.
Try for something besides boxes. Look on the bubble gum machines at your local grocery store and see who the vendors are, I buy their change by the bag full unrolled. I pay $2.50 per pound for pennies. Try weighing out other coins and set your own prices. Tell your mates you'll buy their change by the pound, they always feel that they are getting over on you, so you'll make good deals.
I have been cherry picking penny trays at gas stations lol. A certain shop put aside a customer bag of pennies etc. At work at the register I usually can trade in 50 cents to a dollar out of pocket for 1-2 penny rolls. Plenty of things you can do.
Just be stubborn, bold and creative. I've found some great pennies including blue toners and stunning toners in penny trays and even an Indian cent in one. That 1979 Philly with the blue toning from a penny tray recently especially looks 🔥 They used to find it annoying but a mutual respect has been established at that gas station.
Man those Jim C. boxes were fantastic and a lot of fun! Really like seeing the semi and key dates along with stunners dating back to 1930 wow! I think Jim is having fun sending these to you, when the dumping party gets back from vacation I bet you will get one or more boxes!
Incredible! This is why we do it and kudos to Jim C for sending you them. Don’t know if I could do that, no offense! Awesome score on the 09s for Jim, makes me feel bad for the older people who turned them in, but If he/you didn’t get them, they would have just been circulated more. CRH’er for life!
Got my first rolls yesterday (6 penny rolls, 1 nickel roll, 1 dime roll, 1 quarter roll) and I found a 2 wheat cents. Today I was looking at them again and I realized that the 1956 D wheat cent I found is the 1956 D/D RPM FS-501, hopefully I can get more rolls next week.
Bingo Bango - those were some great finds. Makes me wonder if the "supplier" who wrapped these rolls has any idea of what the coins really are. The good thing is that these beautiful coins (and the key date coins) are finding a new home to be preserved. Thanks Rob for sharing the hunt. Seeing these stunners makes me believe there are plenty more out there waiting for a new home.
Hey Rob! Been a while since ive got into a roll of coins! Im a young hunter at only 15. I have managed to find countless IHP's, Buffs, V's and more from ONE bank in customer wrapped rolls! The oldest coin I found that im still shocked over came with others. In one visit to the bank, I managed to find some mercs, barbers, V's, Buff's and some more...BUT I also got two once in a lifetime finds! I found a SHIELD nickel from 67 AND an actual 1830's capped bust dime!
Funny thing: I have a 1924 s and a 1926 d, but I keep mixing up the mintmarks on accident and keep thinking I have a semi key. Still decent dates, but not as good as the semi keys.
Thumbs up for the video and thumbs up 👍to Jim for trading these boxes. These have been some spectacular penny hunt. I hope Jim isn't done trading with you.
Holy Cow!! That 1909 S vdb had to have been at least XF. Edit - 31S and 12S WOW!!!!!!! Edit 2 - and the 24D. If I bought a "unsearched" on eBay and got any of the 12S, the 24D and the 31S in it I would have been totally happy and would have raved ++++ on my feedback.
I bought a bag off of eBay. “Unsearched” I found 18 Indian head cents including an 1899 in AU condition, an 1867, 25 1909 VDB, including one in XF condition. A few each of 1911D 1912D & 1912S 2 1914S, several each of the 1915, 1915D & 1915S a RED 1916S, & many other mintmarked mid & late 1910’s, a few each of the 1922D & 1924D, & many many other better dates & early mintmarks. You can get lucky man, there’s a few good bags left out there.
William findspennies Most of the Indian Heads were G-VG condition but definitely more than the small amount I paid per coin. I got the 5,000 or so bag, I think there was a little more but I didn’t count them. For 300 dollars.
Excellent finds on the coins Rob- especially that 1912-S and 1930 blazer. My greatest find coin roll hunting pennies would have to be an 1856 flying eagle cent. I saved that sucker in a heartbeat. One of my personal favorite cents ever.
WOW!!! A 1909 S VDB!!!! Jim is a lucky dude!! But your box certainly wasn’t anything to sneeze at!!! I hope Jim gives you a final total of how many mom & pop boxes he was able to obtain!
Another great penny hunt. I only get to hunt a few rolls at a time here but I have found a steel cent and some older wheaties with a few shiny 60's and 70's. Can't wait for your next box hunt.
Wow awesome box! I can't believe he found a 1909 s vdb in his box. That's crazy!! It sucks a lot of people can't get any boxes right now. I'm fortunate enough to get about around 1 box each week, just whichever denomination they have in stock. Happy hunting to everyone who can.
Great video and always a highlight of my evening after logging off of work. Not a coin collector myself really but I love your videos and this cool community you have here.
Okay. Mom n pop forgot their kid at home. So I am going thru the pennies for them now. Lol. BTW Jim, that was super dope n cool of ya to do this. A Gem of your own, and that's a good Jim!
Wow, what a box! Only thing not in there is a 1955 DDO in MS65! Either Jim is spiking these boxes or the older couple has been saving pennies forever and really is turning them in???
Great to see all the wonderful finds in the Cantor Customer Rolled Boxes! Makes for great videos. We need stuff like this during COVID times......makes us feel good! A little toooo coincidental though.
Man, I'd love to get my hands on one of those boxes, almost every roll has finds in it. I wouldn't care if I couldn't keep any of the finds either, just looking through them would be awesome. Lucky guy!

@robfindstreasure I found my grandparents old collection and I almost filled in a the same book you have, and the Indian head cent one! Always fun hunting coins🤙
If I was Jim, I'd consider giving the bank a message to give to the old couple turning those rolls in, and see if they would contact him to sell them directly to him. One, he could be sure not to miss any, and two, he could offer them a little more than the bank, or even to buy their collection outright, so they are getting at least a little of the benefit of what they are dumping. Just seems like it would be a good thing. If they did not choose to respond, at least he tried.
Holy Smokes Rob, how fun was that. What a great hunt, whatever you traded you won. A tad better than those Arkansas Pennies, lol. Guess the last 2 must have been awful.
Pa's Spare Time I haven’t hunted them yet - I have them here but will get to them - I’m sure they’ll be a lot less awesome than these have been but they’re coming up soon enough.

Just a quick question, Rob. Why didn't you scope the(2) 58 P for DDO? Some Great find by the way! Big like added.
