  • How to crochet a Boho Mug Rug.
Hi there. I hope you enjoy this cute mug rug tutorial.
This mug rug is so cute and the fringes and texture give it a real boho feel for your home.
These mug rugs would make a great gift and they are so quick and easy to make.
This contemporary and cool design is a simple pattern for beginners.
You can make this mug rug with beginner crochet stitches. It uses the double crochet and single crochet stitch.
I have used 100% acrylic yarn, but any worsted weight yarn will work.
Please remember, I am always just a message away if you need any help with your project. :-)
This pattern is free on my blog..

I really like the way the mug rug came out.
I always thought you had to use cotton yarn but I like it the way you made it. Thank you for sharing💕

Thanks so much. Potholders and hot pads (trivets) should be cotton because acrylic yarn can melt with super hot things resting on them. But coffee cups don’t get that hot so acrylic works ok for them 😊 I’m glad you like this pattern.

Did you cast on 20 or 21? You counted to 19 and then 21.

Here is the pattern. It’s free on my blog. Sometimes when videoing there’s a slip up or slip of the tongue. Sorry.
      Chain 21
Row 1: DC into the 3rd ch from the hook, make another DC into the same ch. skip two chains and in the next ch make a SC, DC, DC, *Skip two chains and make “SC, DC, DC” into the next ch.* Repeat from *to * across to the end and do 1 sc into the last ch, turn work.
Row 2: Ch 1, (this counts as your first SC), make 2 DC into the top of the SC you just made in the row below. Skip over the next 2DC, “SC, 2 DC” into the SC st from the row below. You’ll always be looking for the SC to do your “SC, 2 DC” into. Repeat the pattern across ending the last stitch with one single crochet. (When you get to the end, you have two stitches left, just skip one and SC into the last stitch).
      Row 3-16: Repeat Row 2.
