I made one last night. My largest hook is a 12 mm, so I started with a multiple of 6 instead of 5 and added 2 rows to the body.

oh that is strange. There is a tutorial how to make the sweater here on my channel. There is a right and left handed version available.
I have yarn that is weight 4 but the recomendation is for 5mm crochet hook, is that okay?
Yes. If it’s worsted weight (4) yarn that’s the correct yarn. Using the larger hook is what gives it the lacy texture. There’s a link in the description to the free pattern that gives more info on the different sizes if you need it. It also has pictures of the different sweaters created by the pattern testers if you’re interested. ❤️
