I was always told to look for the full liberty on the headdress and detail on feathers for the front and same for the details on back. The same goes for any of the Indian head cents as far as key dates or not. If u do that u can have a decent Indian head collection

$1K would be a generous offer for that collection, because it could take years to sell those coins. You'd have to get the 1877 and the S-mints slabbed to get full value out of them, and the 1908-S might not be worth the investment. Semi-key dates, such as the 1869-1872 series, are only worth slabbing if they are mid-grade and problem-free. I see a lot of corrosion and polishing here.

Nice to see this. I like type sets, trying to ger German and Australian type sets. But some coins are just expensive.
Thanks Daniel. Yea, going to have to go through each one since different grades. Had to rewind and pause a few times but some of the lower mintages look better then the higher mintages. 08 v 08s, 09 v 09s but hard to tell. There are several to key off of. I need to do some upgrading on my complete set. My 77 is better then some of the common dates (VF30)
Indian cents, the collection of my childhood, old Whitman album and coins all G grade with problems. It's okay I just keep the album in a drawer. Many hours in a coin shop on a Saturday with Mom patiently waiting for me. The coins are not valuable to anyone but me.
What Einstein was to science and the theory of relativity,you are that with coins,don't know how you keep all the information in your head and still give out information that is understandable and makes cents,lol,keep up the great work.

What a sweet collection. I like it better than a slabbed collection, even with the problem coins. It is just nice. Will you be listing it for sale as-is? If so, what is the asking price?

That price seems a bit low to me. I sincerely doubt that you could get either a 1877 or a 1909-S, much less both of them for less than $1000.
What would you be asking for that collection if it was in your shop?
They would have to be graded AG 1877 and VF 1909 S, in a PCGS holder to be worth $1,000 for both. I recommend you use sold auction listings instead of high retail. I am showing what dealers pay not what they're worth retail either way.
You can absolutely get a raw 1877 and 1909-s for a thousand, also this isn’t whole sale.
@CoinCollecter-uh1uw high retail and it is wholesale I am showing the Greysheet. You can buy graded 1877 and 1909 s IHCs for less than $1,000, you need to go to some dealers and get at to some coin shows.
@@CoinHELPu How about the rest of the collection? Add in the tough dates in the 1865 to 1873 and they start adding up. In particular, the 1866, 1867, 1871 and 1872. Even fillers in those dates start adding up.
While I grant you, there are some problem coins in that collection, but they still have value.
Whether you agree or not, I think that collection is worth a bit more than $1000. Even wholesale.
@@jimgarofalo5479 I know what you're trying to do here but just because YOU think it's worth more doesn't mean it is.
A lot of dealers would pay much less because of the amount of problems coins (problem coins are a problem to get rid off, doesn't matter if they're semi-keys or not), they're also low grade examples and all the common examples.
Dealers sell ungraded coins back of bid to each other, that is how it's always been. When a dealer buys a collection like this they're accept all the common, cleaned and damaged coins and the risk and effort to try to sell it. It's easier to sell the keys and wholesale the rest, not sell it as a collection.
I know, to a collector, it's worth more than $1,000 but it's not worth more than a $1,000 wholesale.

Thanks for sharing a little bit of insight on how to evaluate coin albums like those. I'm trying to build my Lincoln series right now and I was lucky to get 8 albums from someone at face value of the total coins that were in them. There are a lot of low grade coins in them, and all the key dates and difficult dates obviously were not there. I've slowly been finding some really nice circulated but mostly issue free coins to rebuild the album to a better grade and find the harder to find dates as I go. I doubt I'll ever have 'complete' album without the 1909s vdb and the 82D small date copper lol.

I don't know about Indian heads all that much I usually look for liberty in the headband. With Lincoln cents I always look at his tie. If it's really defined it f to vf.

@@CoinHELPu so your saying that you had to be into coins for years to make money from it .i did research learn about ddo and error coins that there are fake cons also see that in a lot website you can basically sell a lot coins even if they have no errors.i moved to this neighborhood were this man about to retire sell his business he has a coin shop
