- Some have rodent problems while others are dealing with no air conditioning. They want it fixed but aren't getting very far with the complex.

The owners of this place should literally be put in jail for exposing vulnerable people to these dangers.
Jail? They can easily find a new place to live at.
@@SanSan-qs1fh not if they don’t have enough money and apartments are high
@@aprilg4276 you get what you pay for sometimes.
@@gdiup9241 um what if it wasn’t like that before that’s still nasty for having them live like that and they paying money every month
they won't because they're bought off the city councilmen and police and city building inspectors and certain people at the health departments. i've dealt with the same exact issues in my state and people in my state up in the north east got bought off some even actually whined to the news media when they didn't get paid off and bought off enough flat out admitting to not getting a high enough paid kickback and they made a law in my state 2 years ago flat out stating a minimum kickback amount and rules for the kickback
Just reading through the comments really reveals the heart of this country. People are doing the best they can. It might not be the best to you, but they are trying. Speaking on the parents with children. So sad and unsympathetic. I am grateful they didnt abandon their children. They stood up and took responsibility for their decisions, be it bad or good. They stayed😢. Do you know how many homeless teenagers wonder around in Houston and how over crowded the foster care system is? Its heartbreaking. Learn to look beyond your own bias and prejudice, and see the truth concerning a situation.
Renters will tear up a property and not keep it up, because it's not theirs. No matter what a landlord does to make it look nice, they don't care. I had a rental property in the Houston area. The brick home was in a neighborhood with an HOA and it was nicer than the home I live in. I wanted the best for my renters, but it was exhausting to see how they would leave it each time one left. I made sure everything was maintained, but nothing was ever appreciated. This landlord should keep up this property and legally he is responsible, but renters have to do their part too.
@@Babs27 I agree. I've seen with my own eyes how inconsiderate and plain nasty tenants can be. Thank you for at least trying to make and keep the communities you oversaw livable.
Well this is what you get when you depend on the government .
Right, absolutely pathetic to blame these people for this. Not everyone in life is going to be well off, poor people exist and they deserve safe living. Period.
@@gwendoly0531You say the same thing over and over. Not falling for it.
I want to know why it took sooo long for someone to look into this? NO ONE DESERVES TO LIVE LIKE THIS.
Wonder what rent is.
@Get back Gang that's cheaper than the rattiest motel around.
I want to rent here
This is becoming a problem in almost every old apartment complex in Houston.
Yup. It's ridiculous
Not at my apartment complex
@@dmunyblokush doesn’t mean it’s not a problem
Yes my first one and second one was horrible had to leave everything and move because the infestation was so bad
So true, if the apartment is older than 10 years, forget about it !
A lot of your community leaders have known for years that this was going on…but now they all of sudden wanna make voice of it
Exactly.
because they were getting paid off to look the other way
This case reflects the US as a whole. Shiny and awesome on the surface, but a total shithole once you experience it
You’re missing some important context .. It’s a black area which is why there are bullet holes
Go to actual parts of the country with actual civilization like idk the suburbs or the country or the city that isn’t minority ridden
@@gregb9264 So you're insinuating that us white people have magical guns that don't damage houses or are you implying that we just don't have any guns at all, and also that none of us have ever shot a gun??! 🤔🤔 Hell, my Dad - who is white - has a bullet hole going through the ceiling of his kitchen, through the floor of the upstairs bedroom and into that ceiling, but it stopped before entering through attic floor. And HE'S the person who shot the gun, INTENTIONALLY!😂🤣 A squirrel got on his nerves...
Bullet holes are just ONE issue in that complex, which was only demonstrated in 1 apartment. The rats have made MORE and BIGGER holes, which allow for even MORE pests to enter and create an INFESTATION. YOU are the one who's missing the POINT!🙄🙄🤦♀️
@@synergisticcollusion134 I like how you deleted your comment
This isn’t the only property like this. There are so many it’s hard to even count them. I used to deliver groceries, but after seeing the conditions of the properties and areas I just didn’t feel safe anymore. Cheap rent gets you cheap landlords that’s for sure.
Some of these rappers from here need to donate an help some the apartments out 🤦🏾♀️
This is crazy, Houston being the 3rd largest city in this country and only has 2 city health inspectors, WOW!!!
4th largest
There are more, but it's determined by the district, population, type of establishment, and priority for inspection. So the city can basically use whatever excuse they want to make the residents have to wait until they decide to send someone. Wouldn't happen in a higher-income and/or more white neighbor, that's for sure!! DETESTABLE politics and ignorance! 💯💯

@@texasrepojoe8917 oh, well THAT sure defeats their argument! Houston only having 2 city health inspectors sounds right on par for TX.
Absolutely horrifying!!! How do you do someone like this???
Why do renters do landlords like they do?
@@Babs27 What?! Oh right you're just an 🍑🎩
Easy get a damn job, when u done work u live in dirt so 🤷
This is not the only place I worked for a trailer park and did the maintenance work there the land owner was a piece of poop he would charge 800 to 1000 for rent and the trailers had holes on the ground I would constantly repair A/C and plumbing and he would personally charge the water bill separately that sometimes people paid 500 to 700 a month because of all the repairs that needed to be done he lived in a big fancy house in Galveston and didn't care of living conditions, He would tell me to take water meters away from people and cut the A/C if they didn't pay but I never did that the conditions were to bad as they were to be so evil . I did my best to make the living conditions better for them and always advised them to complain and call an inspector but they were scared because of the legal status so they didn't want to risk anything its sad people have to deal with this kind of treatment because of legal status or wealth .
The fact that those two beautiful children had the brightest smiles despite their living conditions is as sign of strength and hope.
Smh they have to fix their own issues but I bet they expect all their rent. The city would normally fine them until they fix it. I had to call the city on my complex when it was filled with mold after the hurricane and they just painted over it. Make sure you have picture proof. They will try and fix it as cheaply as possible
That is so sad. I grew up poor, but this is absolutely horrible.
“We Only Have two Health Inspectors.” Well, hire more Health Inspectors 🤷🏽♀️ The City Officials would rather make unnecessary cutbacks, to line their own pockets, rather than use the money for what it’s for. Housing Authority allows people to live in deplorable conditions, because it’s happening in Every Housing Authority in the County. I’m glad Houston is doing something about it, hopefully the rest of the Country follows suit.
It’s all about corporate greed. I stay on the south side and it’s no different. The office is brand new renovated with new floors and paint. And yet there are tarps on the roofs that have been there for over a year.
I remember living there when they were first built. Now this. Shameful!!! I was in Jr High. Now retired. Fix them or tear them down People are paying to suffer
Where is Sheila Jackson Lee I thought she was to help the ppl from Houston?
Who owns that apartment complex they need to be called out.
Wonder why there are only two health inspectors for the entire city... how to protect businesses from accountability i.e. deregulation
Grizzy did it again! If it wasn’t for her this wouldn’t be on the news!!!
OMG those are absolutely disgusting.
I know right why dont they get their shit together and live a better life
WOW I’m so sorry y’all are going thorough this. Those landlords needs to DO something 😢
they won't though because they don't care
What’s really sad is that these people are probably paying 1400 or more a month to live in these places
I bet they still collecting rent. All tenants Cease to pay Rent at once.
Its mostly section 8, so they arent even paying rent
That’s so sad people has to live that way.
Shut it down! People deserve to live better than that
This is inhumane just deplorable... shame on the owner
Wondering who owns or manages the apartments
Typical in section 8 housing. The people will move out and the next place they end up will turn out exactly the same.
Yup
Property Management is responsible for maintenance of properties such as.. air conditioning.. if a faucet won’t stop running and it black mold. These peoples houses are clean. The problems they’re having the PM is suppose to take ownership and handle it.. but apparently they’re neglecting their responsibilities. It’s like this because they don’t care about the kind of people living there. Fuq out here!
@@lajack6448 For real, people who never experienced this always blame it on the people living there instead of the landlords/managers whose responsibility is to upkeep the property in the first place. The place my wife and I are moving from has roaches all over the complex, no ac, no dishwashers, no in unit laundry, cabinets falling apart ect and they're bumping the rent from $800 to $1200 without fixing any of this. Slumlords
that's exactly how it is and not just section 8 but all over
@@lajack6448 that's exactly what it is. i've gone through that so many times myself up in the northeast i'm burnt out now because of it (fighting with so many property management companies on their powertrips and massive oversized egos)
My heart goes to the elderly, but why are people having children they clearly cannot afford. The children has to suffer from their poor choices.
Well, now that abortion is illegal it makes that a little tough.
So heartbreaking
Spanish village apartments is horrible, rats roach air conditioning all problems and the owner not fixing anything
This is just sad 😞 and I believe them in 2014 I lived in some Appartements called The Palms On Rolling Creek Appartements off fm 1960 on the northwest side I don’t see how they still up they need to burn these kinda apartments down to the ground!😡I’m glad we left just in time it was so bad we had roaches rats and bed bugs I hope y’all don’t live over there 💅🏽
You get what you pay for. Are these section 8? Who owns this?
Sad.. knowing that we live in such a rich country..
Praying for improved condition soon 🙏 ✨️
5700 Thousand Oaks should be check out as well I have many videos where can I send them ??? For help ?

Many of these people don't pay the rent and it takes forever to evict them, apartment complex doesn't even try, sadly the only solution is to close the complex
When your stubbornly Democrat and depend on the section 8 the government gives you, you become this. Complicit and comfortable around this way of living.

Whoever that lady is with a toy Mjollnir, how about putting the movie props down and actually helping these people!
Why did they rent it? Go rent somewhere better. I don’t believe this place look stunningly put together when these tenants moved in, those damages aren’t happening in one or two days. You can’t decide to move into a broke down place with the cheapest price you get in the area and expect the landlord to fix it up. You get what you pay for. And stop bringing up “for the children” card, it’s boring. When do people understand if you can’t afford kids, then don’t have them? So they don’t need to suffer like you do? No one is responsible for the children you brought to this world, you are the one responsible.
Its section 8 housing
This is sickening!!! People shouldn’t have to live like this. What are the people in these leasing offices doing with the money? Seems to me like they are pocketing it. Clearly taking care of the peoples needs was never on their minds. I pray these families get their needs met so they can live with comfortably and with dignity.
rookie...uggg.. not just pocketing it they have to pay off city councilmen, building inspectors, health department and police to look the other way and not make any arrests or give any fines and they have to pay lawyers in case any tenants try to sue them and keep all the lawyers literally all the lawyers in their pockets so tenants struggle to find one who will represent them in court regardless on how right the tenant is
and yes the attorney generals office is well aware of all the payoffs taking place but keep choosing to turn a blind eye to it and don't even deny it for a second nor will they admit it either like the old saying goes i can neither confirm nor deny the allegations made here..
tinfoil to stop up the holes. rats won't chew through it.
This is flat out ridiculous
In these days and times this should never be okay
Oh my goodness this is not okay I'm never going over there. Yeah I agree do not go to that place it is rachet. Stay from by the northside thank you for this information 🙏 😊
They can fix it probably will need to jack up rent to cover remodeling cost. The moment they do that the complex will mostlikely be empty.
Hood or not that sucks. Because although you’re only paying $425 a month that’s no way to live.
If they can’t afford to keep up the apartment they shouldn’t have it.
BUT!! This could backfire and if they were to remodel, rent goes 🆙
Then you’re homeless. 🤷🏿
And they are Charging the renters Full Price for those Apartments!!! Either fix them or move these people out to livable apartments!!!
Exactly what I was thinking geez. They are in need of comfort and peace of mind in there homes. When I just saw the children I was in tears 😢🙏🏻
@@rhondafunk2680 Agreed!!! And that poor older lady with a bullet hole in her window, how can anyone feel safe?
Are you sure they are paying market rate rent? It seems like these are low income units or Section 8 housing units.
@@FeliciaQueen17 Don't know for sure, but several people in Houston that I know that are living in older apartments are not getting any slack on their rent.
@@kellyreilly7782 There is a difference between older and rundown and unliveable
People really are asking how it got that bad & why nobody has done anything. But you know why in case you don't let me tell you. ITS BECAUSE THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WHO LIVE THIER ARE PEOPLE OF COLOR. PERIOD THE END
This is really sad. These are people with children. Elderly people. Not animals. And 2 freaking health inspectors?! Are you kidding me?! These people should not have to pay them a dime until they don’t get this fixed! And sadly the one thing that may happen is have everybody released from their lease. It could happen.
This is such gov't BS...on local levels. Simple solution is REQUIRED annual surveys apartments must provide ALL tenants with for completion with a return address. By reviewing this paperwork sent annually they can quickly pinpoint slum landlords. THEY DON'T CARE
OMG this is sad 🤢
Keep voting for the same people on these committees, councils, boards etc…..
No ac but you your hair is done
And plenty of weed to sit around and smoke ALL DAY
She probably did her own hair which is not hard to do your own box braids.
Hey people who live where fight for your right. And complain. To the owner. And fix it. Or started sue. At not very healthy to no one. At is diesese. It can make you very sick and children. Smell really bad.
People should not leave food out.
This method would reduce the number of days/roaches.
"If they can't drink or eat, they want creep"!
Also don't understand why people that are poor or that can barely take care of their kids always having kids why???
What do you mean COULD??? No shut it down do you know how dangerous molde is..
I lived in these apartments in 2017 - 2020 there was constant shooting and it was just ghetto
Now they need to do the Woodrow apartment building in channel view they control your AC and keep at 80 in the summer they are disgusting and the owner or manager don't give a damn
It's called the ghetto, and everything that comes with it!
I stay in the neighborhood right next to these apartments and every night all I hear is gunshots and EMS and police
I don't care how much money you got in the bank or how much you make a year no one deserves to live like this especially the innocent children!!! Sad
Wow.. Oh they get help .. wow
How are you gonna fix this when there's no profit from it?
Section 8 housing doesn't pull in shit for necessities.
put something in place that says they can't jack up the rent after fixing things. if you don't they will do it then the people will be out of a place to live.
That ain't the only one all the apartments as around the city be lying on them staged pictures I seen one where they tried to say crystal springs in dead end was a beautiful spacious living community I stay right down the road and used to live there lol no it ain't
Great, now I want a onion
I saw that too lol
The thing about apartments is that you can move to another apartment complex
Prospering where there neglect. Let's look even more closer to urban Houston.
wear masks spray any mold with vinegar open windows doors air out. spray lysol wash beddings
Oh it's about time they investigate alot of these complexes so many families are suffering
The "officials" all they are going to is talk about the problem.
Soon as I got their I would of never moved in. I dont care how poor I was. Thats just sad af

Most Folks loath Too many Laws/Regulations. But this is a prime example of this cities need for more Stern Regulations for Property Owners. Swfter processes to force Repairs. Like IMMEDIATE JAIL TIME if certain conditions aren't repaired within 30 Days. Signed a LA in West Michigan, 12 smaller homes. I've NEVER let any of my tenants live in conditions like this in 40 years!. Jail those Landlords!!
That’s not a real hammer. 😂
Hey I can do a lot of the work from the pics I saw; Sheetrock repair, repair faulty tile in bathrooms or replace bathroom tile and or tub and install new tub (and or shower fixtures, plus faucets, ceiling fan replacements, install and repair light fixtures and patch ceiling(sheet rock or replace ceiling from water stains), and roof repair(of water stains are on ceiling within top floors), but excluding the air conditioning repair!
Please feel free to contact me by replying here or let me know whom I need to call - the Landlord hopefully.
Will someone give me his number? This is a easy fix really. He should have been got these issues fixed 🤷
