The first booklet reminds me of the British “Advising The Householder” booklet from 1963. The illustrations are very similar in style.

Fascinating video! I made a video around the same time on Why Ireland doesn't use nuclear energy. There were plans for a nuclear reactor in Ireland around the 70's/80's. As this was during the cold war, many people were concerned about the risk of fallout and the possibility of Ireland getting involved in nuclear weapons research. It's soo interesting to see this video after researching that and it really does shine a light on how Irish government and society were thinking about nuclear. Thanks for the upload.

Most interesting video. Wasn't pleased to see Munster copping fallout from UK. Moved here to avoid that stuff! Regards from Ireland only Survival shop.

Yet again fantastic video. Ireland is one of the more interesting cases in terms of civil defence. I wonder how much of the CD Cold War infrastructure (Athlone bunker, Ballybrusker) they still use.

Athlone bunker is just used for storage and isn’t really a bunker anymore. The Civil Defence Village is still used for rescue training.

Good video. It would be good to know what are the current plans/procedures that would be put into effect in the UK and ROI should the worst happen
