good tutorial on how to use the individual tools but the audio doesen't sound good in my opinion. I even like the original version better :D but I guess it's personal taste
You are right. I'm an audio engineer. He destroyed the eq with way too much cut and boost and didn't really understand what dynamics is all about. A good tip to remember is the rule of thirds. That is when you make a boost or cut, roll it back by about 1/3. That's because it's very easy to over compensate with your ears. You usually only need the most subtle changes in each process.
I am glad someone else thought what I did.... I didn't want to sound like an ass but I am glad I m not the only one who thinks original was better....lol
Jordy, your tutorials make RUclips. This is exactly how they should be done, and you're the best at it. Thank you for keeping it simple but useful and getting right to the important things. I feel really lucky that I came across your channel. I watch your tutorials even on the things I don't really care about because they're so good that maybe I will end up using them.
Jordy, your general understanding of audio post production here is somewhat misguided. Firstly, the Adobe audio plugins sound horrible and need to be used sparingly. The noise reduction is terrible and as others have commented, leaves artefacts in both the foreground and background that are only exaggerated even more when you use a dynamics compressor. There is a 'high quality mode' that may improve the results but I would avoid using this plugin where possible. The dynamics is also hideous and anything but transparent. Once again, I would use subtle settings between 1-5 to avoid the harsh pumping effect. Graphic EQ is pretty useless for dialog mixing. The best tool for this is parametric EQ. There is also a lot of misleading information in this video. Low cut (or high pass) is usually a good thing, but cutting the highs (above 8 kHz) will remove a lot of essential audio information and clarity / air. Never do this unless you have a problem with hiss. Also, the male voice has most of its presence around 1-2 KHz so cutting these frequencies is a bad idea unless you want even muddier dialogue. The EQ curve done by Jordy pushes up the lower mids and is almost the opposite of what this dialogue needs. Hard limiter should be set to -2 dB, the audio peak standard for not only Premiere Pro, but also RUclips and other streaming sites. Setting to -0.1 dB (for technical reasons related to encoding to compressed audio formats such as mp3 or aac) is NOT a good idea. You think it sounds "much better". The reality is, it only needed some small EQ boosts at the low end to add some fullness and maybe a small amount of compression, if at all. More dynamic compression = louder room reflections (reverb), background noises and hiss (noise floor).
bro it looks like you a lot of information about audio editing and i have yet find such a detailed video of audio editng i would request you to put together these things in a video and post it on youtube.....it will be good for all
I used the clarity and the equalizer method on Audacity it also worked perfectly on it, thanks! :] *Note:* I know that Audacity doesn’t have a clarity plug-in so I just bumped up the treble to 23dB on the “Bass and Treble” option. This may also differ from others because of different microphones.
Hmmm after using the "Graphic Equilizer", the audio doesn't match the waves on the timeline. The sound turned out great, but I can't use this effect if it changes the audio sync... :/
Very nice! Did not knew that is possible. But I prefer Audacity or Adobe Auditon, because I have more possibilities and i think the sound sounds a little bit better :D
*Hello Cinecom, When I animate a text and put a mask to hide it the mask follows the text. Why is that happening Please Help! Im using Premiere Pro CC 2015.*
After animating a text, right click the layer of your animated text in the timeline then click "Nest", name your nested layer, and then put your mask, that should do the trick :) Basically "Nest" your animated text layer first before you put a mask, hope this helps :)
The noise reduction works after one second or so for the first clip but when the second clip starts it has to start again analizing, so I hear the noise the first second of everyclip. How can I solve this? Thanks!
I think u pretty much exaggerated in compressing the dynamic range of ur voice .. yes it s strong and powerful now , but not that natural . However, did u notice that the noise reduction filter is not working well until the middle of the clip ? i keep facing this problem regardless the settings of the filter. and this problem is not gonna be solved even after the render.
In case if anyone can't find the audio essentials under the windows tab, click the audio tab at the top (next to Assembly, editing, etc - libraries) and it will pop up. [Adobe Premiere Pro 2018]
I like your explanation and style of presentation, but I don't think the end result of the vocal audio was better than the original. Louder, yes, but not better. Thanks for the time and effort you put in. I'll still be watching your tutorials.

THANK YOU !
The audio plugins to a better job than essential sound imo.
I am glad someone else thought what I did.... I didn't want to sound like an ass but I am glad I m not the only one who thinks original was better....lol
ya it sounds better originally
Great tutorial :) I kept getting complaints about my audio, and this guide should help fix it.
EXACTLY what I was looking for for a while. Great starting point to start experimenting myself :)
Completely ignores constructive criticism and likes the single useless comment
This is something I've been struggling with a bit. Thank you for covering it.

I've watched something like 10 tutorials, but you're the one who explains this better! Just what I needed: thank you!
Save time by just using 'vocal enhancer' in audio effects on any dialogue, also cut room ambience with SPL De-verb.
thanks a million. u dunno how much thankful I am for this video

That moment when you learn more about the topic from a comment than the actual video...
Best video editing tutorials on RUclips right here. Thanks for making them!
awesome! I've always been a bit list in Premiere's audio, this is exactly what I needed, many thanks!
I only wish I could remember everything you show, well done guys.😍
it sounds worse, dude.. sounds unnatural and too loud and I actually hear more noise. Your other tutorials are far better.
Watching an OG Cinecom tutorial is a blessing
what if i dont have the essential audio?
Amazingly helpful tutorial. Thanks!
Man, this was so helpful. I shoot with a Rode Mic on top of the camera and this is a total game changer. Thank you so much!
This helped out a lot for a video I am making right now. Sounds so much better! Thanks a lot! Love your guy's videos.
Best I found in this domain. Cheers guys.
Well explained! I will use the ideas in my next video. Thx!
Thank you!!!!!
THank you for making a great video!!!

thank you this was really helpful
Hmmm after using the "Graphic Equilizer", the audio doesn't match the waves on the timeline. The sound turned out great, but I can't use this effect if it changes the audio sync... :/
As always I learn something new today, Thanks you

Thanks a lot! you helped to save about two hours of editing time today!! Love your work. You've helped me to save so many time and efforts. Thanks!
Exactly what I needed!
Thanks bro so so so much ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thank you!
thank you bro
great job mate
Very nice! Did not knew that is possible.
But I prefer Audacity or Adobe Auditon, because I have more possibilities and i think the sound sounds a little bit better :D
Dedicated programs have more options and often better results yes. But I do like it that Premiere has an options to get quick results.
Yes, I like that too.
thanks dude, great job! :)
Cinecom! You said that you were going to have a tutorial on have you edited that "new invention" video??? When is it coming? :D Love your YT channel!
more audio tutorials please!!!
Luis desde San Miguel, Argentina!
i was waiting for such video ... can u please make another video going in depth with this subject ?
I use SmartLavPlus and with the equalizer I noticed that my voice is really impacted when I touch the 8k slider. Strange isn't it ?
Awesome. Thanks for the Vid
You're a great teacher, thank you for this :D
ur a genius
YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER❤❤❤
Very good, thankyou!!!
*Hello Cinecom, When I animate a text and put a mask to hide it the mask follows the text. Why is that happening Please Help! Im using Premiere Pro CC 2015.*
*Rony Khayat I HAVE THIS PROBLEM TOO DUDE.*

Great info thanks so much for sharing!
omg thanks!!
thats all i needed
I can't find essential sound, I use Premier CC 2017
WTF, i also can't find it...
Me too, i have Premiere Pro CC 2017 and i can't find it
Probably you have version 11.0.2 and not 11.1 where Essential showed up!
Lyhor Mom I have it but I have Premiere Pro CC 2018
Update it with cc 2018
Soooo Much positive stuff ! i love it
well done! helps a lot
Thanks for this, I've been wondering how to clean up audio for a while; I want to go into cinematography when I'm older.
Thanks, i will try to make following your share.
most helpful
Much love x
great, that helped a lot !
perfect tips, I made a new video with these setting and it become much more better by these settings.
cheers mate, great tut!
btw, is the guy behind you in the short clip watching p....n??? LOL ;)
I think u pretty much exaggerated in compressing the dynamic range of ur voice ..

i keep facing this problem regardless the settings of the filter.
and this problem is not gonna be solved even after the render.
Yeah I've noticed this also, it's as if it takes a moment to analyze and then applies the effect, anyone else know how to solve this?
put a threshold in adaptive noise reduction options to around 10 db :)
thank you very much, you saved me ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
good article, very helpful
best guys ever
Great tutorial! :-)
Thanks bro you help me.improve 😎
Before this channel famous
The adaptive noise reduction tool doesn't work. It doesn't activate for the first second and you can hear it dipping in. 14:16 the answer is no.
IS there any way to preset it and paste it to other audios? I don't want to do the same thing over and over again for all my audio nests.
Hey man, I onlye use adobe CC2015 and the Essential Sound is not there, what can I do? Can you please teach me equivalent?
thanks soooo much, i was wondering if it is possible to smoothen my voice in premiere
What should the average decibel level be for a normal video? -3, -6, -12 ?
In case if anyone can't find the audio essentials under the windows tab, click the audio tab at the top (next to Assembly, editing, etc - libraries) and it will pop up. [Adobe Premiere Pro 2018]
Awesome
how do you stop your audio from clipping?
Great...
what screen recorder you're using...
The before sounds better than the after..and why does the actual voiceover sound better than the clip you edited in?
Did you have your mic set for -10db or normal? Just wondering
Yeah, I mostly aim for the -9db
i dont have the latest adobe premiere pro so what should i use.
+Tech Inventor Aman use the normal EQ, principles are the same.
hello sir, can you please give the same for 2015CC version!
I have Premiere pro CC 2017 but in window I can't find Essential sound, It's an update? or do I have to download a plug in?
im using cs 6.. why i dont see any essential sound in window tab?
I am using adobe premiere 2019 and I don't see the 3.04 min. adaptive noise reduction tab in the effects control. what I see is denoise. ??
7:03 is so funny.
damn, What a Tut!

VERY HELPFUL YOU SHOULD BE A TEACHER
Good tutorial, however Id prefer a little bit more highs on your voice. It sounds muffled. Good job though.
I like your explanation and style of presentation, but I don't think the end result of the vocal audio was better than the original. Louder, yes, but not better. Thanks for the time and effort you put in. I'll still be watching your tutorials.
im sorry but the end result was horrible
