I have a 2004 Toyota solara. I have had her for 15 years and she still runs great. Two days ago I bought a 2023 RAV4. I don't plan on getting rid of my 2004. I'm about to get her a new paint job some maintenance under the hood and new interior. I adore Toyotas and will never buy another brand. In December I plan on buying my husband a Rav4 for Christmas. He fell in love with my new girl that I call Stormtrooper cause she's bright white and just got some nice dark tints yesterday. You're right not very often a Toyota breaks down, my husband has a Tacoma 99 and it's still running like a champ! He does not plan on selling it 😂😂 he loves his truck that's why we just bought our family car a Toyota Highlander 21 and we love it!

this was all super informative. I bought (ordered) my Rav4 hybrid from a toyota dealer 50 minutes away (local toyota dealers are in an auto group with a terrible rep when it comes to sales) and was hoping I didnt need to go out there every single time.

If you are asking about the Toyotacare you can get the services done 1k miles up or down and I believe its a month early or late if you are going by time.
I strongly believe the oil and filter should be changed every 5,000 miles...not 10,000. I'm a former technician and many professionals agree with me. Cars and major engine repairs are expensive! "Toyota Care" really should be doing these changes for customers, free charges every 5,000 miles.

You can always add extra oil changes. Toyota has done the research and know their product and in my opinion I would not expect them to do anything that would cause less reliability in their vehicles due to the reputation of reliability that they have.
In Indianapolis, I bought a 2024 AWD Platinium Highlander last July. Since I am retired, I only had 1040 miles in mid-January 2025, but paid for an oil change since the Toyota Car Care nut suggested that. I also bought a Toyota Platinum extended warranty for a 10 year period. Does that start at 10 years from date of sale?or 10 years after the normal warranty expired? I am changing my oil 🛢 every 5k miles.

Also you didnt mention if the first buyer has to be a person or if car rental companies when they purchase will activate the 2 year countdown of toyota care. Either way I purchased my Toyota from Enterprise and they mentioned the factory warranty and all things included with it but funny how they didnt mention toyota care. So we shall see

Hi Steve, does the Toyota care Plus start after I hit 25,000 miles and or 2 years and then cover for another 45,000 and or another 2 years making the total miles covered 65,000 miles and or 4 years?

that is a financial product so i am not the best to explain it but it will repair or replace a tire or wheel that is damaged. it will save you money by paying you back the first time you use it. Also it can keep the value of your vehicle higher as those repairs and be expensive
Steve, what would you suggest, after taking my 2022 highlander hybrid to my local dealer for 10k Toyota care I came home to find they didn’t rotated tires- I marked them, did not top up fluids, didn’t do tire pressure and didn’t correct rattle from underneath. Can I call Toyota and pick another dealer for a do over.
I would reach out to the manager of the service department of the dealer you went to. Give them a chance to make it right.

Just had the first service done to my vehicle and found out that no oil change, fluids top up, or tire rotation were done during the visit. They basically just turned off the maintenance light and called me to pick up the car. What a joke.

Toyota only gives you 2 oil changes. Check your maintenance guide. The recommended oil changes are at every 10k or 1 year

Hi , i have 2022 highlander platinum i feel pulsuation on breake padal as wel as stering shakes while breaking its 16000 miles. So does it cover under extended warranty?
i dont know. brakes are wear out items. the new warranty covers defects
Is it’s pulsating then take it in it’s covered under warranty. I had brakes replaced at 15k under warranty

You can do more but they wont do them for free as part of toyotacare. I have customers who do the oil changes every 5000 and they pay for the extra ones

I’m worried that the 5K oil changes means that the oil they use will only last 5K miles or 6 months.
I thought that modern oil like 0w-20 or 0w-16 can usually last 10K miles or 12 months

No. That is considered damage.

@@stevenwelchtoyota Had my highlander for a lil over a year and the paint on the lower front end is allready chipping I’ve owned Hondas acuras Mercedes and BMW’s never had paint chipping within the first year Love the reliability of these cars but wow these cars are cheaply made also a annoying rattling noise coming from door when driving on highway. Hopefully warranty will cover it.

Steven I need your help. Is it possible to lock all the 4 doors of my toyota yaris 2018 icon tech while I'm driving? This a safety feature most modern cars have but I am not sure if my yaris has this feature. And if it has how do I activate it please?

If you don't use the two year or 25K mile Toyota Care I was told by my dealer, the tire change and inspection at 6 months could be skipped but if I missed the 10k mile Toyota Care oil change it would void my warranty, yes my 100k or 10 year extended warranty. So I could miss a Toyota Care Service when the oil is due and lose my 100k mile warranty? I'll take my new Toyota in for the oil changes but the tire rotation, and fluid check doesn't equal my time leaving it at the dealership or waiting there on it. So what about that warranty, will not doing it per Toyota Care void it?
you just have to do the service. if you want to pay for it go ahead. The dealer gets paid from toyota and its free to you so they may be trying to push you that way even if you want to do it another way.
It’s not free. The sticker on the car says that Southeastern Toyota Distributorship has charged $699 for Toyota Care. Not free to me.
Yes I should have clarified that Southeast Toyota region does charge their customers extra for it rather than including it
Extended Warranties Nowadays???? Heck YES!!! Majority of modern day vehicles have TONS OF ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS in them that can go wrong and if you are beyond your 36k Warranty.........😂😂😂😂😂JOKES ON YOU $$$$

Good explanation but…..sounds like a lot of sugar for a dime. I change my oil every 3,000 miles. Basically the first 20 to 30k miles these inspections will be a quick sight on inspection.

Its not free, you pre pay for it when you buy the vehicle.
You pay for it if you buy in the southeast region. They add extra to the price for it

Wiper blades could be needed but they are not normally. If they are needed they are not routine maintenance so it would be extra
