    Note: Corsair has dropped the price on these 2000D models since I filmed this, especially in the US. You can now get the RGB version for about $140 or even $110 if you don't mind doing some rebate. Doesn't change anything in the review, but it does make the RGB version with the 3 fans and controller a decent value pick in my opinion.

    I love this style ITX case that's more tall/skinny with a small footprint, but hate when they have the I/O facing down, so impractical, up with a nice hinged cover like Phantek's Evolv Shift line is the way to go.

    Completely agree on the bundle thoughts. I recently built another SFF machine and I ended up going with yet another NZXT H1 build simply because everything is included, you don't have to worry about a radiator and/or fans being too thick, a PSU being too long or anything like this. It's so quick and simple to build in it's just great. I did consider this one as well but went for the H1 simply for the ease of use and less time spent on bargain hunting for parts. Would certainly love to have a 360mm AIO instead of that puny 140mm one the H1 has but convenience won over function I suppose.

    • @TechTesters
      @TechTesters  9 месяцев назад +1

      I like the H1 as well. 140mm does mean you pretty much have to go AMD, but that isn't really a bad thing at the moment anyway.

    Thank you for posting this excellent review. I have not given much thought to doing a small form factor build. Perhaps I should. I can imagine something like this being used to help run environmental controls for plant or plant/fish aquariums. I appreciate the temperature measurements you obtained and published. I guess an Intel processor would turn it into a space heater with USB ports. This is a high quality, professional review.

    I have the 4000d while ofc not itx, I still find it compact enough.
    The 2 cons I have about it are the front panel dust filter can bend quite quickly and not fit properly and thus not doing its job properly. And the lack of the extra front USB (now u have 1 instead of 2 like this case) is also something I do not like. But overall a solid series

    Funnily enough, I'm looking at this case partly due to the motherboard I/O being hidden underneath and the cables coming out in a bundle. Keeps it nice and tidy and doesn't require every cable to have an extra 30cm to reach the top. I'll plug my hubs/display etc in and it'll sit there happily for months.

    I put a custom loop (CPU and GPU blocks) in a 7.5l PCcooler case and other builders have done things far more impressive. The problem with the AIO was the person who installed it. you didn't want to put in the effort to properly manage the cables and used an AIO that would still have slack in the hoses in a 7000D.

    What good is the mesh on the top when the actual chassis is solid metal on the top. If you go for air cooling the there is no in line intake and exhaust. I bought it but I already packed it back up and I’m exchanging it for a Revolt 3 instead.

    I finished my 2000D build some time ago and I use this as my backup system. This case can indeed fit a 360mm AIO with no issues. There are a lot of wires for the fans so if I get sufficient funds in the future I'd like to try an iCue-Link build of this same system. I personally disagree with your comment that a PSU and AIO are being offered with the case as an option. Many case builders already have parts they can use from other builds to try and cut costs. So if you have some extra fans lying around, maybe an extra CPU cooler, you can make a rather inexpensive build. I also reside in the Netherlands.

    Having the MOBO IO at the bottom is insane. It also stops the GFX card from breathing properly

    • @WhiteWolfTech
      @WhiteWolfTech 9 месяцев назад +1

      Not really, it really only matters for reference nvidia cards, for all the others, rear exhaust can be ignored in the equation of airflow. Also, this orientation is clearly made to avoid any need for an extension cable, which for some ( or probably for most ) people is a good thing.

    • @BOZ_11
      @BOZ_11 9 месяцев назад

      @@WhiteWolfTech Even on an open design there is a lot of air moving through the triple slot bracket of my card. Perhaps it can work if that side is fully mesh with some fans blowing to/from the card, but the inaccessible mobo IO is a deal breaker

    • @WhiteWolfTech
      @WhiteWolfTech 9 месяцев назад

      @@BOZ_11 I think the bottom is closed to avoid air recirculation. That way, any exhaust from the IO, will disperse in all direction lets say on the table, mixing with fresh air before getting pulled back in from the sides... I guess that's better than immediate recirculation. And yes, bottom IO still s*cks.

    Good concept idea, mediocre execution.
    Airflow is bad. They should move AIO mounting to the side opposite to the GPU (in this case it's the front), so the 120 mm fans can remove CPU and GPU air at the same time.
    What they have right now is a bad situation where GPU and AIO fight over space to get to the exhaust fans.
    Also, space can be resized to accommodate standard 120 instead slims, or even 140 mm fans to improve exhaust, especially if exhaust was over GPU.
    Basically, this case should be redesigned.
