I cant believe Hiddenxperia just broke into the Act Man's home, when you thought 2007 couldn't get even crazier 😞 Also, id love more videos like this in the future!

Id love the idea of a flood cult having a role in a game like this. Maybe a far cry 5 like opening, ODSTs on a mission to capture a cult leader. But something goes awry and the rest of the squad dies, and as the game goes on you see less and less cult members and more and more flood. Could be cool.
There couldn't be a cult as the flood wouldn't let anyone free to preach lol. Hunger, consume, feed, hunger. Those are its primary thoughts in the initial stages and any sort of proto Gravemind doesn't need humans helping it to spread.
This sounds great. But as a lover of a 3 act story, you could insert a middle act in which takes you to the ONI ship after the Flood reach it. You fight through in an attempt to stop them from seizing control and taking the ship’s AI offline. It could be a sort of Glados style companion trying to help you through the comms. The Flood manage to jump the ship to the colony world, and you must find an escape pod (maybe and ODST drop pod), ejecting just in time to watch the ship make a controlled crash into the city. Your own impact could knock you out for a hour or 2, facilitating the waking up in the already ‘dead city’. Just some random thoughts.
I think Scorn had a really interesting story element where after the introduction you start as a new character and the intro character turns into this freaky parasite and hunts you down. Imagine the opening 1/3 of the game you play as a Spartan only to inevitably get killed and consumed by the flood. Then for the rest of the game you play as a marine years later during a flood outbreak and at the center of it all, the main enemy is this infected Spartan from the beginning.
It would be great stealth halo horror game were you are using the SPI armor camouflage system to salvage weapons and equipment to avoid enemies and repair a damaged, Longsword, fighter,or a pelican to escape the planet.
I had a dream similar to this where it was ODST intro but I remember something like... "28 Hours After Drop" and the whole game had flood instead. Kinda of a wild dream. I could totally dig it. Perhaps someone could mod something in for the ODST/Regular Halo 3 engine to make something like this?
I'm replying to as many people trying to spread the word of it but check out Branching Sickness. It's literally what people are asking for lol. It's a high budget Halo horror game where you play as a marine/odst against the flood.
I think a mixture of GTFO, dead space, and left 4 dead would be a fantastic mixture of games that could inspire a flood game. For the ending however, I feel something similar to the first outlast would be cool. ONI swoops in and kills the main character to try to hide their wrong doings which they could be another antagonist or enemy to fight
Theres a scene in the original Starcraft where a bombing crew are going to detonate a science vessel, but the Zerg start pouring in and slaughtering everyone so they self sacrifice themselves to blow the bomb and kill everything and i think it's one of the scariest and coolest scenes in video game horror and it was made In 1997
Make it so ONI is trying to find a cure. They are smart enough to not mess with something that beat the forerunners unless they were trying to find ways to beat it.
My man there is a halo flood horror game in development called branching sickness, its focusing on that fear of the unknown, you should join the development and share your vision and make something truly awesome!
My Dream game would be where you play as someone simple like a marine or even a local police officer and the game starts out with you fighting insurrectionists so that you can get a feel of the human elements of the world, a city in this case, before the flood arrive as well as make your character feel somewhat powerful being able to gun down humans as oppossed to the survivability of the flood. Then in a sort of homage to the Halo 4 movie the UNSC and insurrectionists would team up to survive the flood after possibly the insurrectionists (or maybe secretly oni) try to use it thinking it to be a standard bio weapon. Now the streets you once knew are being taken over by the flood as the game has transitioned into full survival horror. Somewhat later in the game you can find an odst that died from his fall from orbit and steal his armor and weapons to try and better prepare yourself against the flood. The end goal of the game is to make it off planet. fast forwarding to possible endings I can think of are... 1. objective survive, hold out against the flood as long as possible but eventually die 2. somewhat similar to 1 but the city you're in gets glassed/nuked 3. take a ship offworld where either there is secretly flood aboard / the ship gets shot down / or lastly a happy ending seeing the city/planet nuked from orbit without the parasite onboard. 4. captured by oni
Hear me out... the drop ship that picks you up has a Spartan flood containment team and you scan positive for flood spores. The game ends with the muzzle flash of an m6D. No dialogue from the Spartans, just a nod towards you, a quick 3 second scan, a nod, and bang, roll credits.
I was thinking of something similar. Firstly, there would be 3 separate gamemodes; Survival - Pretty self-explanatory. It'd be a similar vein to Firefight with a semi-open world aspect. Survive as long as you can. Stranded - You'd play as a Marine in a platoon (Other Marines either AI or Player Controlled) with the objective of finding a way out. The escape point would vary depending on the map and or vehicles available. It'd sorta be like Ewok Hunt in Battlefront II. Extermination - The "fun" mode. You'll be controlling a ODST belonging to a squad of four others. Objective sounds simple enough- Locate a Proto-Gravemind and destroy it- Thus staggering the Flood Infestation. As ODSTs, you'd have access to heavier weaponary but be wary. You're not a Super-Soldier, and will still fall victim to the parasite if caught off-guard.
I could see a shopkeeper being an AI. Like your on a colony with a major gun culture and you can go to a gun store where an AI runs it and won’t let you take anything without payment
what horror games NEED is excellent, excellent, excellent sound design and voice actors who can actually put emotion in their work. i am unfortunate enough to have been exposed to some things on the internet and IRL, and it's not the gristle or gore that bothers me a lot (well, it does ofc). it's the sounds. a shocked yelp, panicked screams. squelching, meat-enveloped cracking sounds of breaking bones. someone being absolutely beside themself with grief at the sight of a killed loved one. imagine halo ODST except with the flood. imagine level 1, you're a UNSC marine who's not even a front line soldier or even playing as a civilian. chaos is happening in the far distance. you only managed to scrounge a pistol with 2-4 mags left. you hear commotion getting closer in the blacked out city of [wherever], you round the corner to see a locked door to an apartment or whatever, but behind the door you can hear shuffling. you get closer. a scared voice saying "no, stay back!" . the voice slowly evolves into shrieking. along with this, the "flood noises" happen behind this locked door too. growling, roaring, snapping, crunching, etc etc. the shrieking stops. then deafening silence. imagine that as an intro to a Halo horror game. that would absolutely set the tone, and soak my pants with piss.
I think a 4 player l4d style game would work great as well. That mod looks fantastic. World war Z has a cool mechanic where players who die become zombies and you can watch your body chase your friends around. Imagine becoming infected and you have a timer to save yourself or your friends or they turn into an enhanced combat form.
I think there's another couple of things that could add to or enhance the experience: Music. Or rather, the absence of. I understand that all of the halo games (especially the initial trilogy) had some powerful music. Music was a *massive* part of halo, but for as much as the songs in halo made you feel like a badass (like in the warthog runs, for instance) the absence of such a crucial part of the game can have a terrifying effect... Not to say there should be absolutely no music in the game, as that's one of the things that makes halo what it is, but saying a noticeable cutoff or cutscene that doesn't have that could be far more terrifying. Also, the idea of roaming the halls of tightly-packed corridors of an "undead" ship like the Mona Lisa is also a good way to make people's skin crawl. No power. No lights. Like exploring a dead Cairo Station. Making use of the flood's (maybe a proto- or even full gravemind) greater intelligence to not just mindlessly throw bodies at the problem like the Spartans, but have them actively hunt these smaller, weaker targets down in full extermination mode. Knowing when and were to strike, sometimes reserving units for that moment when everything seems fine and puckers start to relax, to finally strike with an enemy that you don't know how to beat yet, be it new or returning
It might be cool to have areas thick with flood spores that limit your sight ranges. It could “activate” your helmet’s filter (with a low hum or something). The filter could drain at a certain rate with the ability to recharge in “safe” areas
"How would the flood reach earth?" The game is a containment simulation by Oni. It could serve as the tutorial for the security officer you play at the remote site.
That would be both interesting but cheesy at the same time. I’m not a fan of the whole “It was a simulation the whole time” kind of games but would make more sense if the flood were to come to earth.
I’m still early in the video while typing this, but this just makes me excited for the Halo Flood Horror game a group of fans are making called “Branching Sickness”.
Man so good to hear you talk about the Flood again, wasnt sure if that would ever be covered in this channel or any other channel to be honest with how 343 had been taking their narrative forward.
@@nilavrahsensarma1764 I hate that the only form of story we're getting with Halo is just through (comic) books now. They've completely given up on it in their games. Breaks my heart
@@SifGreyfang It's pretty much implied by lore that the Flood can never truly be defeated. They're like a force of nature sent to test the dominant species if they're ready to claim the Mantle of Responsibility. They're corrupted forms of the God-species that's responsible for creating all life in the galaxy and possibly the creators of the universe entirely. The Gravemind isn't "dead". As we saw in Halo Wars 2, the Flood is still around. If they have enough biomass, they can form a new Gravemind. They also have genetic memories so every new Gravemind has the memories of all earlier ones
Personally I would love to see the flood outbreak occur in insurgent territory, where multiple twists occur in the game, such as; finding mutilated bodies of oni agents only being identifiable by their ID cards within the skin, government officials fused to the walls and being used to make a precursor to a proto-grave mind, and the realization that oni was working with the insurgents to create mindless zombies only to be backstabbed by oni spies and then they all get consumed in the chaos, and finally the player’s imprisonment or death. (Could either be being trapped in a bunker, or a confrontation with a gorged proto-gravemind.) Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this half-assed idea.
I think i speak for everyone. You an Actman neeeeed to collaborate more. Shit just you guys playing one of thr Halo games campaign and just talking about it be cool. Sooo much potential.
A game like this would be amazing for making use of the new flood forms we got in the Encyclopedia, reintroduction of older ones from say the animation, and of course adding new ones. Perhaps this Colony is one of those worlds where humans and aliens try to make peace in a strange way, and again you get that "this is relateable" note from inside interests fucking up a step towards something greater somehow Also the idea of the map slowly getting infected, like a wave that travels from the epicenter towards the spawn, just is so cool Cant have a Halo Flood game without a based name - I think Halo: Upsilon would do nicely Will John Xperia save the day or will the Flood get the beachhead it needs? Who knows
Imagine on one of the missions you have to locate one of ONI's higherups to get a key card of sorts to get through a door or room , but have to fight your way through it a to get that key card , kinda like a mini boss to retrieve the card through its infected body kinda like how Chief did with Keyes
The way I see it a Flood game is entirely dependent on the type of vibes you want the game to have. If you want to make the Flood seems as intimidating and horror inducing as possible then you either make the player play as a civilian or as a normal marine. The reason I don't think it's a good idea to make a Flood horror game with ODSTs is because they are the best soldiers in the UNSC just short of the Spartans, so having a player play as a ODST might take away some of the tension. If you want to make one of those games in which the player can't fight back then you could make the player take on the roll of a every day civilian during a Flood outbreak like when the Flood arrived on Earth. In order to REALLY sell just how dangerous the Flood is you could make it so that from the civilian POV you see just how ineffective the military might of the UNSC is against the Flood. You could make the main plot of the game be having to escape the city/planet during a Flood outbreak. Or if you want to go for a little more like Dead Space type of horror then you can make the player play as an ordinary marine who suddenly finds themselves stuck in a Mona Lisa style situation, a place out in the middle of space infested by the Flood and having to survive being trapped in an enclosed space struggling for survival.
This is also a game always on my mind when I think of halo even to thr point I made a short horror story of the Flood taking over high charity from a civilians perspective!
This reminded me of the idea I came up with a while ago for a flood horror game, which was basically just Doom 3 with flood instead of demons. The game takes place at an ONI Black Site hidden in an asteroid belt in some backwater star system. You take the role of an unnamed security guard who was recently transferred to this Black Site. You are given a special version of the Hazmat armor that has unique attachments, including a CBRN variant of the Security helmet. Depending on where in the timeline this takes place, because ONI definitely swept this under the rug, the armor could either be a specially modified Hazmat suit or a prototype. Much like Doom 3, things go south shortly after your arrival and an outbreak occurs. Despite you and the rest of the Black Site personal's efforts, the situation just keeps getting worse and worse. So much so that all the important people on site evacuate and sabotage any remaining ships to prevent the Flood from escaping, leaving you and any other survivors for dead. From here, you have one final objective, scuttle the Black Site. Given that this is a horror game, we can probably put in an inventory system like Resident Evil along with an oxygen system since the site's ventilation system would be compromised.
The Mona Lisa (Halo short story, not the painting) was an awesome story. Tied with the Impossible Life and Possible Death of Preston J. Cole for my favorite stories in Halo.
Flood horror would be amazing and terrifying and I would love it! We need something like this and your idea is beautiful and *ICONIC* Also we need more intros with you and Act Man. It was funny and enjoyable.
For those who are genuinely unaware there is a Halo horror game being developed. It's called Branching Sickness and you're a UNSC Marine/ODST fighting against the Flood. It's crazy how many people are unaware this is being developed.
Getting Dead Space and SCP Secret Laboratory vibes from this. There are mutliple endings and missions to make NG+ interesting. One ending which is kinda similar to one of the endings in SCP where you get out but are gunned down by a spartan fireteam. And then they go into the facility. Could be a cool side story where its basically a pesudo doom like game.
Now all of this sounds amazing, and honestly I'd say the 3rd person POV would be perfect for this flood horror game. To add to your idea, I think that there should be another campaign but with the Elites side. Not sure how it'd work but one story could be set during the fall of High Charity
While I have always wanted a game just like this, I also think a halo horror game in the style of resident evil seven or outlast could be amazing. Imagine a game set an a city on reach during the covenant invasion. You don’t play as a spartan or a marine, but as a civilian having to use distractions and hiding to escape covenant forces. even to a marine, a grunt isn’t very much of a threat but a civilian an elite would feel like a monster just a thought
Could slightly twist it, after the nuke goes off, Spartans come to save you. ONI enlisted Spartans... As it zooms on the ONI insignia it fades to black, making you wonder whether they're here to silence you. Or save you...
This is a great video man would love a game like this it would go so hard it would be interesting of what kind of character to be it would be cool to see a spartan that specializes in flood purging or an super secretive odst agent would be cool or just hear me out to just be some badass Zealot Elite that was abandoned on the ring and had to fight alone against the flood and renounces his faith at the destruction of the ring and also a funny merchant idea would be a grunt that isn't scared of anything
I think a great way to have the balance between weapons and enemies is to go the route of something like the 1st Dying Light. The survivor (ODST I assume) would have to cobble together weapons and makeshift defenses from whats available. Knives, rebar, scattered ammo that needs to be managed well. Have puzzles and courier missions that involve activating an object in one location like say getting the power to the lower levels back online and then baiting a heavy flood "boss" into chasing you into a trap for itself that now is possible to activate.
Imagine - a thematic style similar to how the Metro games instilled the fear of the mutants; the dark corners, the constant distant wailng echoing thorugh the area. Metro series really did a great job on combat customization & atmosphere, which i think you could take great inspiration from to realize this Fantastic game-idea
For me personally I think starting as an odst dropping onto the first halo and slowly regrouping with the other survivors would be a nice touch and maybe having a Jenkins Easter egg and at the end have a few of the odst join Johnson on the pelican that escapes the blast but barely, kinda follow the books in that regard where the main objective was to link up with keys and the survivors of the first encounter but have it change to survive and escape towards the end when the flood presence as become clear and begins to spread
My pitch for the merchant would be a disfigured and mostly shadowed odst that gives off this silent mystery to him, he never speaks and only stares at you with a table of wares for you to buy from But in certain locations you could have a lightning strike in the distance and in the flash you get a glimpse at his helmet only to see the haunted helmet skull underneath staring back at you, like he's already dead yet still alive and acting like he isn't dead at all. Maybe it's just your imagination but you can't tell since all you see is the polarized visor of his helmet looking back at you through the dark. Add in the lonely sounds of Mombasa streets, rain, distance flood howls, and extremely subtle sax with the lonely haunting call sounds from other songs in the OST of odst.
We could have a game from the perspective of the marine who made it half way through the library in Combat Evolved, that would be fun to experience. Of course that would be a short campaign unless you were to give this guy longer ways to reach each floor up to the point where he finally died.
I could totally see some unique flood forms in this game such as a Combat form modified to walk on four and being able to pounce on survivors and a stronger combat form made from two people fused together that would split on death.
I love the idea of this. The only thing I would personally like to see is in the middle section between the flood leaving the Facility and reaching the Colony would be to have the ODST be stopped just before stopping the outbreak in some fashion in such a way it’s implied he dies. The next mission(s) you’re playing as someone else within the colony as the outbreak starts. Ideally for a few missions so you believe this is now the new character(s) (you could play as multiple over different areas or missions). Then at the end of that story arc you are either saved by the ODST from the start and continue as him or are killed off and switch back to the ODST for the final mission/remainder of the game. Either way this concept would be amazing and your ideas would be so surreal to play in
That makes much more sense than Halo Wars, imho. I'd like a game where you also struggle against the flood already inside you, dialoguing with a (proto/)gravemind about their vision of existence. And also a game (Infinite DLC?) where you finally encounter one of the Precursors. What I read in Halo Outcasts about them would have give me chills if seen in-game.
man seeing the super old and outdated versions of my L4D2 mods which no longer exist gave me whiplash xD realized it's an old recording. but so cool to see you repurposing it for this video. it's a very interesting use of the footage.
I've always thought that a siren type flood would be sick, like a flood form that imitates the screams and cries of people to lure you in. Could you imagine wandering down a dark hallway and you get a friendly ping on your radar and all you can see is a shadowy slightly humanoid figure standing completely still crying out for help
I’ve always been curious about that dead ODST on the halo 3 level Cortana. I’ve wanted a survival horror game that follows his journey. He couldn’t have been dead long. Meaning he survived weeks on high charity. From the events of halo 2 to near the end of halo 3.
I like what you said about how being relatable can make things scary. My first experience with the flood was in halo three. And I always loved the fact that you played through the prior mission killing covenant taking the warehouse back. Just to turn around and fight back through it but now with all these flood using the bodies you just supplied to them. Also personally think it would be cool if you started this game on a large scale ship like a frigate do some small missions like some training get used to your crew. And then you get called to the base maybe to try and recover data or something. While there the breakout happens. And you escape but not before the flood make it into the ship. Seeing your ship slowly get taken over. The doctor who checked on your head in the start now runs at you with a massive clawed arm. Or the cute deck hand who flirted with you earlier is now being ripped apart by an infection form on the other side of a glass wall. Would kill for this kinda game
Indeed. The way to make a place familiar isn't just a fascimile of something we already know. It's get us attached to the place. A few low stakes patrols for insurgent activity and returning to a mess hall after each mission to check up on your squad would be the way I would do it. Only to have a mission later on, where the flood gets introduced. With that same mess hall being used as a collection point for biomass by the flood.
It would be so awesome if it had a marathon type feel as well, like the only company you get is talking with the AIs on the computers around the facility, and while you are walking around you have no one, truly feeling alone throughout the whole thing, until you have your brief respites of solace with your AI buddy.
To add on the planet the flood invades could be a home planet that the main character is from to feel more relatable to the player. Knowing that your hometown is being invaded by the flood would be devastating.
I feel like for a game like this I'd make it like this, You're a UNSC Marine held prisoner on a Covenant class super Corvette where the covenant is experimenting on not just the flood but also a multitude of other things like human weaponry and technology for example But all of a sudden because of a mistake of a grunt in the flood research department the flood gets lose and starts to infect everything and everyone on the carrier Despite it being a Super carrier it's one of research so there's not much in the the way of weaponry but enough to make the game feel like halo while feeling difficult and you wanting to be conservative As some covenant flee through the prison section you get freed from your captivity by a mid lvl elite officer ushering the words of "You may be my enemy human but no race deseves to suffer due to the parasite" as he flees and locks the door shut behind him you leave your cell noticing your entire squad is dead except your sgt. A very crude and selfish man but a good soilder non the less You eventually get separated and reunited at multiple points This then turns into a story of the conflicting views of survival and cowardness or survival and bravery depending on if you choose to align more with your sgt or the elite that saved you by letting you out of your cell As the story progresses you complete multiple objectives all trying to uncover mysteries or solve impending problems and just so human weaponry is included you can find the different weapons at different points but have lower ammo then the covenant weapons (Now that I'm writing all this I think I'll write this into it's own story and if anyone else wants to do try to differ and not directly steal this idea lol)
I think having the flood hit a "New London" would be awesome. London has Iconic landmarks. Seeing near duplicates in a place that looks almost like earth would feel so cool but also creepy.
A cool idea I had regarding a flood game, I'd love a game where we play a few of the iconic flood missions not as the chief. I.e. Guilty spark from pov of one of the Marines, floodgate from a marine then later as an elite, Cortana from the POV of that one ODST with the flame thrower, etc.
The story continues in a sequel which reveals the outbreak was all a test run for a proto-gravemind ONI has been growing in another nearby facility with the intent of trying to control the flood. Or at least "aim" them at targets of their choosing. The sequel could revolve around infiltrating this other base which has since fallen apart and allowed a new outbreak.
One level where you crash land or spawn with only the magnum and one clip, followed by obscene weapon scarcity to the point its insanely hard on heroic and nearly impossible on legendary would be awesome. It would be impossible on LASO, would have to clip out of bounds or something to get by it. A good story/new environment with the flood would really be a great part of a new halo campaign.
I personally liked the fear of roaming the streets of New Mombasa in first person, being confined to confines of your helmet hearing your health low and your breath get heavier added to the fear of being alone and not a spartan
Imagine the player is a single bog-standard marine who by the ending of the game escapes the planet on a Pelican. They are injured, exhausted and almost totally broken. They think they are finally safe, even though their weapons are empty of all ammo. Only thing is... a single Infector form has also managed to sneak aboard. A final boss fight takes place between the Infector and the marine armed only with a knife. Who wins depends on who lands a hit first and the stakes are permadeath. If you win, you survive. If you die, it's a total game over and you must start again right back at the beginning.
I feel like instead of ONI being responsible, it be the Players character or group. Like early in the game you delve into a foreunner facility and accidentally bring the parasite with you. Don't even have it present in the first part, just being on a mission in an ominous forerunner facility to clear out the covenant
I want to play a Styx type stealth game where you play as a grunt evading spartans, marines, flood, etc during the Covenant war. Maybe that one grunt that follows chief in CE, or you even have a mission where you have to evade him, and he's an unkillable threat.
There’s actually a fan made Halo Flood game in the works, called Branching Sickness. I highly recommend that you check out the progress that the team has made so far.
the idea I had for a flood horror game was one that sort of mimicked CE's intro to them, that being "you don't know it's a flood horror game at first". imagine you're a marine, and for the first few levels it's you vs either rebels or covenant, but then a slipspace rupture happens in the upper atmosphere, and you see a burning ship crash to the ground. orders are to investigate the crash, ONI takes over, you don't know what's going on and fear and uncertainty takes over your fellow marines. Had an idea that you may be a sergeant, so your guy is trying to hold together the mental states of their troops, lean on the psychological toll the flood have on people a bit?
I always invisioned a flood orientated Halo infinite dlc! Perhaps using a wounded spartan locke after a fight with the brothers in a facility on zeta halo, after the banished accidentally caused an outbreak.. He wouldn't have any shields due to his damaged armour but could be a good opportunity to add the repulsor to the campaign to try and push back the hordes as you try to escape!
It would be cool if there was audio logs from one of the scientists or assistant working on the experimentation of the flood. Also, if it had multiplayer mode or story, that would be interesting.
this is good. this is REALLY GOOD. I'm almost pissed off that this isn't a game. Omg I really hope some developer contacts you and requests to make this. YOU'RE A MADLAD XPERIA!
I have never heard of anyone consider ''28 days later' ' as good or one the best' 'horror' ' movie. Its certainly ok zombie movie but not not a horror movie.
Make your character a UNSC pilot, Engineer or an ODST. As soon as you see the Flood and then you realize you're not a Spartan but just a mere human. That's when the horror hits. Because you're now the canon fodder, the guys that you remember being turned all the time in front of you. You can even use Dead Space's formula and put your character in a derelict ship or space station. But maybe like an isolated place in a distant planet or mining planet.

Funny enough Hidden streamed an ODST Flood mod before called “Halo: Prevarication” a bit rough around the edges but it’s pretty good.
Its really nice that we'll get to see content like this the whole November, Its gonna be great..
Amazing work on this! High quality videos like this are bittersweet: it makes the absence of a game like this even worse.
Si.
Left 4 Dead but with more things than zombies would be cool.
Theres a scene in the original Starcraft where a bombing crew are going to detonate a science vessel, but the Zerg start pouring in and slaughtering everyone so they self sacrifice themselves to blow the bomb and kill everything and i think it's one of the scariest and coolest scenes in video game horror and it was made In 1997
A Flood style game on High Charity as it was consumed would be an amazing introduction to a first Alien-only Halo game
Make it so ONI is trying to find a cure. They are smart enough to not mess with something that beat the forerunners unless they were trying to find ways to beat it.
2:33 Make it a Yonhet. Notorious black marketeers who have done business with the Covenant, Banished, UNSC, and Insurrectionists.
1. objective survive, hold out against the flood as long as possible but eventually die
2. somewhat similar to 1 but the city you're in gets glassed/nuked
3. take a ship offworld where either there is secretly flood aboard / the ship gets shot down / or lastly a happy ending seeing the city/planet nuked from orbit without the parasite onboard.
4. captured by oni
I was thinking of something similar. Firstly, there would be 3 separate gamemodes;
Survival - Pretty self-explanatory.
That intro was just incredible. Thank you for the laughs
I need this now. Exactly how you explained it. I would say start as a marine tho then find odst armor
I think there's another couple of things that could add to or enhance the experience:
Music.
"How would the flood reach earth?"
The game is a containment simulation by Oni. It could serve as the tutorial for the security officer you play at the remote site.
That would be both interesting but cheesy at the same time. I’m not a fan of the whole “It was a simulation the whole time” kind of games but would make more sense if the flood were to come to earth.
Actually I think if it was something like those old Cold War simulation towns but flood outbreak themed that could be spooky.
They literally haven't taken it forward at all 😅
@@theunderdog9353 EXACTLY MY POINT
@@nilavrahsensarma1764 I hate that the only form of story we're getting with Halo is just through (comic) books now. They've completely given up on it in their games. Breaks my heart
@@theunderdog9353well....cause the gravemind is dead and any at all flood are pretty much contained
(Could either be being trapped in a bunker, or a confrontation with a gorged proto-gravemind.)
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this half-assed idea.
A Halo flood horror game would be awesome.
Check out Branching Sickness. It's a Flood based horror game.
I think i speak for everyone. You an Actman neeeeed to collaborate more. Shit just you guys playing one of thr Halo games campaign and just talking about it be cool.
Sooo much potential.
The game isn't even out yet, and HiddenXperia spoiled it 😂❤ TOOO SOOON
That intro, I fucking love you two
Nice to see you talking about Halo with a smile again 👍🏻
A game like this would be amazing for making use of the new flood forms we got in the Encyclopedia, reintroduction of older ones from say the animation, and of course adding new ones. Perhaps this Colony is one of those worlds where humans and aliens try to make peace in a strange way, and again you get that "this is relateable" note from inside interests fucking up a step towards something greater somehow
Also the idea of the map slowly getting infected, like a wave that travels from the epicenter towards the spawn, just is so cool
Cant have a Halo Flood game without a based name - I think Halo: Upsilon would do nicely
Will John Xperia save the day or will the Flood get the beachhead it needs?
A flood VR spin off. Gives me chills of the thought.
I think the best halo flood game would gameplay similar to The Last of Us. Stealth elements, conserving ammo, and eerie atmosphere 👍
Flood horror would be amazing and terrifying and I would love it! We need something like this and your idea is beautiful and *ICONIC*
Also we need more intros with you and Act Man. It was funny and enjoyable.
Never have I caught a video 9 seconds after it's release. Love ya man! You make great content.
This is something that the franchise NEEDS!!
For those who are genuinely unaware there is a Halo horror game being developed. It's called Branching Sickness and you're a UNSC Marine/ODST fighting against the Flood. It's crazy how many people are unaware this is being developed.
It's just a fan game, not official.
@@Arnorian_Knight Yeah, still kicks ass though.
Maybe have the city on the planet where oni are doing the experiments
What an *ICONIC* crossover
the act man cameo goes hard
DAMN that intro was crazy
A resident evil 4 style game with flood would be great and sometimes adding a sort of hord firefight moments would be great.
Now all of this sounds amazing, and honestly I'd say the 3rd person POV would be perfect for this flood horror game. To add to your idea, I think that there should be another campaign but with the Elites side. Not sure how it'd work but one story could be set during the fall of High Charity
I am getting CHILLS thinking about a flood game like this. Incredibly well done! I neeeed this game someday
I think you should check out "branching sickness" if you haven't
My pitch for the merchant would be a disfigured and mostly shadowed odst that gives off this silent mystery to him, he never speaks and only stares at you with a table of wares for you to buy from
But in certain locations you could have a lightning strike in the distance and in the flash you get a glimpse at his helmet only to see the haunted helmet skull underneath staring back at you, like he's already dead yet still alive and acting like he isn't dead at all.
A merchant elite...
A sell it zealot?!
man seeing the super old and outdated versions of my L4D2 mods which no longer exist gave me whiplash xD
realized it's an old recording. but so cool to see you repurposing it for this video. it's a very interesting use of the footage.
2:11 go for the FEAR style as well
I like what you said about how being relatable can make things scary.
2:22 I think a Huragok that can modify your weapon would be pretty cool
To add on the planet the flood invades could be a home planet that the main character is from to feel more relatable to the player. Knowing that your hometown is being invaded by the flood would be devastating.
I feel like for a game like this I'd make it like this,
You're a UNSC Marine held prisoner on a Covenant class super Corvette where the covenant is experimenting on not just the flood but also a multitude of other things like human weaponry and technology for example
But all of a sudden because of a mistake of a grunt in the flood research department the flood gets lose and starts to infect everything and everyone on the carrier
Despite it being a Super carrier it's one of research so there's not much in the the way of weaponry but enough to make the game feel like halo while feeling difficult and you wanting to be conservative
As some covenant flee through the prison section you get freed from your captivity by a mid lvl elite officer ushering the words of "You may be my enemy human but no race deseves to suffer due to the parasite" as he flees and locks the door shut behind him you leave your cell noticing your entire squad is dead except your sgt. A very crude and selfish man but a good soilder non the less
You eventually get separated and reunited at multiple points
This then turns into a story of the conflicting views of survival and cowardness or survival and bravery depending on if you choose to align more with your sgt or the elite that saved you by letting you out of your cell
As the story progresses you complete multiple objectives all trying to uncover mysteries or solve impending problems and just so human weaponry is included you can find the different weapons at different points but have lower ammo then the covenant weapons
(Now that I'm writing all this I think I'll write this into it's own story and if anyone else wants to do try to differ and not directly steal this idea lol)
I think having the flood hit a "New London" would be awesome. London has Iconic landmarks. Seeing near duplicates in a place that looks almost like earth would feel so cool but also creepy.
Get this man a dev team.
Halo has always reminded me of an Alien/Aliens vibe and fear smashed with the battlehigh feeling of Starship Troopers 1. Love it
The story continues in a sequel which reveals the outbreak was all a test run for a proto-gravemind ONI has been growing in another nearby facility with the intent of trying to control the flood.
Had an idea that you may be a sergeant, so your guy is trying to hold together the mental states of their troops, lean on the psychological toll the flood have on people a bit?
you had me at "vast sprawling forerunner facility" and "flood"
Based taste 🤝
That intro was a mental flash bang, I watch both of you literally back to back all the time, so for a sec thought I clicked the wrong video 😂
I always invisioned a flood orientated Halo infinite dlc! Perhaps using a wounded spartan locke after a fight with the brothers in a facility on zeta halo, after the banished accidentally caused an outbreak.. He wouldn't have any shields due to his damaged armour but could be a good opportunity to add the repulsor to the campaign to try and push back the hordes as you try to escape!
my 2 favorite halo youtubers being unexpectedly in the same room put a big smile on my face
Intro/collab of the century
Playing as an Insurrectionist would be interesting and with the issued orders/gear being sub par would add to the “unequipped to handle this” feeling.
Are you familiar with these fan projects?
- The Flood: Feet First Into Hell
- Branching Sickness
Maybe you could make a video about these cool projects? ;)
