Nice concept with the battery box. What i would do is flip the two bolts upside down. Weld the nuts to the cap, with the bolts mounted to the bottom of the battery box. Then when you unscrew the bolts, the cap is free to be removed.
Nicely done man. You've got great problem solving and fab skills. I'm digging the channel. I'm building a 1980 Ironhead chopper and I come to your channel for ideas for problems I'm sorting out. Keep it up!
As always you did a nice work. After looking at that bike it would be really cool to see you put like a 4 into 1 header that's built like a side pipe on a car I have built one similar to what I'm talking about wish I could send you a picture
You did good on that battery box. Much better. Can’t wait until I start my build. It’ll be 100% after market. Keep doing what you’re doing. Change the angle of the bolts. Top comes forward and the nuts tilt and go back. But not much on either one. It will still look good.
The idea with that battery box is actually good. If you unscrew the bolts you don’t actually have to take them out, you can just remove the battery to the side with the top and unscrewed screws in it. The only thing it could be welded was the bottom part of battery box but thats the way it’s probably going to be. Sorry I’ve had to pause to make this comment and I actually don’t know if you’ll come up that you’re issue is no issue at all. 😉 Im just not sure about those nuts welded to the bottom part....Personally I wouldn’t trust them to much.
Battery Box - You could / should have mounted the original retaining bolt fittings diagonally - bottom/rear to top/front. The bolts would then clear the steel tank. Not everything needs to be vertical:-) Nice work, though.
@@MOTOPILOT6 I also have a question about becoming a Patron. It shows the highest tier being $15 per video, is that back dated to the first video as well and paid in one lump sum, or, is it only on new videos? Also, is it possible to simply make a donation to the build out of enjoying the content and supporting what you're doing?
I think the only thing I would have done differently on that battery box is to make tabs and drill and tap instead of welding nuts on- more metal to get a solid weld on that way, less likely to fail.
So many people hate on this guy and his builds ... let me say that again .... HIS builds ... why though ? He’s not charging you $ for building your custom bike he’s literally building a bike his way and raffling it off and that’s awesome weather or not it’s “perfection” or isn’t done the way someone else would do it is ridiculous and if these people really did custom bike builds theirselves then they would realize it’s a flow and go somethings happen and the original idea has to change instead of bitching on his RUclips channel why don’t you make some videos of you customizing anything at all and let us judge your Workmanship... I’ve had some oops and shit I should have done it this way moments myself and any body who’s man enough to do anything close to work like this will say the same ... get off his nuts and get off his bike go do your own shit 🤘🏼 Love the builds you do MP keep it classy and keep building
Completely agree. There are just a lot of assholes in the RUclips biker community. It's really toxic compared to say, the RUclips gun community. Look at the comments on just about any build video and half of them are from shit heads talking about how something isn't authentic or how they could do it better. Look at a riding video and the same pricks are nit picking how the dude rides or saying they aren't a real biker because they're wearing too much/not enough safety gear.
Honestly he builds stuff exactly like I do. I built custom battery/side boxes out of ammo cans for my 1982 Virago 750 and most people would probably shudder watching me work, but they work and don't look terribly. I don't know how many commenters actually build their own shit for their bikes, but it's more difficult than you might think. I tackled a full stainless straight pipe exhaust for the same bike last year and boy was that challenging!
Any ideas for paint yet? I think this would look awesome with a gloss black powdercoated frame, since it's a honda I think it would look awesome with dark red paint heavy on the metal flake 70s style, the Honda wing logo in gloss black on the side of the tank that doesn't have the fuel gauge, the motopilot logo on the oil tank/electrical box, and stickers from all the sponsors on the rear fender.
Lol I see should of done this or that it's funny coz if he new what he was doing take the bolts out turn upside down weld the in and put some what us uk ppl know as butterfly nuts on but USA know as wing nuts jobs done no extra work so what's next and with speedometer get a smaller cable or make it fit it's a build right lol
Aaaarrrggghhh! Too late but just kept shouting use threaded rod for the battery box welded washer at base so wont pull through with a knurled nut up top!
Yo, welding way too cold man. Cringing through your welding sections. Obviously work for what you're doing but even after grinding you can see your welds were too cold
Again this guy, I can't believe it. Poor design. He does a lot of work to find out it doesn't fit. You could have cut and reuse the bottom of the existing battery box and put a strap to hold the battery. Or better, buy a small lithium battery. So funny good luck............😂

YUPP. IM STILL CURIOUS HOW THIS IS ALL GONNA PAN OUT....
Batterybox was fine from start, no need to remove the bolts, just unbolt and lift battery with the top and bolts.

That battery and that welder nice combination.
She's coming together man, nice job!
Got my fix!
you're pretty good at metal fab...nice job
Nice work, Looking great!

Coming along really nicely now!
nicely done on the brake assembly i like it
Get a smaller battery and a wide rubber band whit hooks to keep it in place
love your videos dude!! keep up the good work
Love your work lad greeting from Liverpool
Battery strap,,,, old leather belt. Easy
Nice.. i also have build chopper video from scratch to finish

Is that battery strap going to interfere with connecting cables to the battery? It looks pretty close to the terminals.
Bike is looking bad ass ! How about a smaller speedometer. Oh and thanks for not playing your Madona cd this time ! Ha Ha !
Order an all in one meter. Digital speedo would be nice to see how to install. Makes a nice video I think.
You can install speedometer on the top of the gas tank
I look at the battery box and keep thinking the strap is too close to the terminals . An easy way to short it out .
i was thinking the act same
Great video
Great work
Would of used springs on the battery box to replace the bolts but still cool
Countersink them bracket holes and use Allen head bolts....much cleaner

Is it too late to enter to win the bike? On your Patreon It says "... ends 5-30-19 at 12:59pm PST..."
Not too late. Thanks for the heads up. I need to push that date back. MP

mount the speedo on the side of the forks, down by the disk brake itself.
had fallow that speedo with the front brake on the other side of the thank instead

Make a bracket and bolt it to the tube clamp on the top triple tree that's where I put mine
digital speedo that bolts to the risers... #dimecitycycles
bravo beau travail !
What wire type/ shielding gas combo is that? I like the way those welds turn out.
6:367 if it gets wet it will short the battery tho !
Show colega sou seu fan aqui do Brasil muito bom trabalho; também faço umas customização por aqui
you should kill the power tool noise during editing. good work man

I build bikes in my spare time and I love his work, really think it's awesome that it's an unconventional bobber build, not a harley or an xs650

отличная работа! жду дальше...
turn battery sideways its lithium it dont need to be up and down
Well, the idea of disassembling the rear brake system just to remove the battery gives me a headache..

Is it a sin to put a digital speedometer on a bobber? The new street bobs have them. I like them because you can barely see them
BRAAAAP
I built mine from a scrap bed frame.
Gps speedo-No need for cable
Make a video on how to make one helmet like yours 🔥🤤
I like what your doing, only thing I would like to see you tackle is doing some fab work on your tanks to make them sit level to the frame and motor.
Just weld in lower battery tray and strap down battery with a rubber strap. Edit: I should have waited till the end to comment, nice solution!
Enak kalau peralatan komplit bisa membuat apa saja bisa

whats the name of the metal band in the background? 21:21, 23:56
1:10 Pac-Man

Soooooo you fit a nice lightweight Lithium battery then fabricate a battery box to hold a lead acid truck battery 🤦♂️
wow honestly lets just build it and see wtf a waiste of time and stock ..
