This is a Bamboo Wood Laminated Triangle Micro-Reverse American Hunting Bow, or Bamboo Wood American Hunting Bow for short. Bamboo wood: bamboo as the sinews and maple chips as the bow tyre, of which the bamboo is air-dried for at least a year before it can be used. There are five layers of lamination, and the bow handle is pressed inside the bow, making it more difficult to make than the previously made triangular beauty hunting bows, and the degree of recoil is micro-reverse. I build scale models as a hobby. I thought waiting a week for paint to fully cure was trying my patience. 2 years? That's incredible. In fact, the entire process was incredible. The end result was beautiful. Congratulations, young lady.
Bamboo has to be the most resourceful material on the planet! As a young child I used to make bows and arrows, not having any yew trees in our local forest I used ash, I always had a stack of ash limbs drying in the loft of the shed, I was impatient though and would start to make a bow with green wood, this would eventually break or twist and so I would make another one, eventually though the ash would which was the material l used would dry and I could carve a bow that would last, I might have a go at making another English Long Bow from some yew wood,, I would have to purchase this though I can harvest hazel fronds from the forest that I live next to This young lady is a true artisan, I look forward to one of her videos landing in my notifications!
Beautiful and patient workmanship. How long can one expect a bow like that to last? I would guess, that with proper care, her grandchildren could be using that bow.

@@Josh_Green44 hey Josh, You could buy pre-dried wood, that's what I always do but I use hazelnut or yew. There is hardly any bamboo here in Germany.😊
Bamboo slats don't require 2 years to season. Most bow woods can be crafted after just 1 year of drying the staves, and white woods can be used right away with fire drying/ hardening. I've harvested my bamboo and fire seasoned immediately while extracting the sugars. A month later, after the drying rack, I'm working them. Bamboo is thin and dries fast.

Man muss das wenigstens 1x gemacht haben , um diese Arbeit richtig einschätzen zu können und , ich habe vor jedem der das kann den höchsten Respekt denn , der Weg zum Erfolg ist lang und nicht ohne Misserfolge was , niemand der so ein Kunstwerk sieht auch nur annähernd nachvollziehen kann . ❤❤❤😊
Ich bin noch nicht einmal 48 Jahre alt, aber auch ich schieße lang genug, um zu erkennen, wie viel Arbeit in einem selbst gebauten Bogen steckt. Und bei aller Technik, die heutzutage in den olympischen FITA-Bögen steckt, können sie nicht die Schönheit eines handgefertigten Blankbogens erreichen. Traditionelles Bogenschießen übt eben seinen eigenen Reiz aus.

Es sieht ja niemand welche Vorbereitungen so ein Kunstwerk verlangt und , von der Zeit bis zum fertigen Bogen wollen die Kunden auch nichts wissen . Man muss es lieben und von ganzem Herzen wollen , nur dann hat man Erfolg und kann mit Stolz sagen " Das habe ich geschaffen . "
@@UdoWerder In der Tat. Man sieht im Video ja auch Arbeitsschritte, die man sonst gar nicht so auf dem Schirm hat, wie das Tillern der Wurfarme. Die meisten denken ja, der Stave wäre schon fast der fertige Bogen. Und wie schön die Farben des Holzes vom Griffstück herauskommen, wenn das Öl aufgetragen wird. Und natürlich nimmt man für sowas Holzpfeile mit Naturbefiederung, denn alles andere wäre Frevel.

Wenn man bedenkt, daß Bogenmacher damals ohne all die technischen Hilfen auskommen mussten, über die man heute verfügt, kann man diese Leute nur bewundern und versteht auch, daß sie zu den bestbezahlten Handwerkern des Mittelalters gehörten. Ok, der klassische englische Langbogen ist kein Kompositbogen wie dieser und nur aus einem Stück Eibenholz gefertigt, aber auch da steckt viel Können drin.

It's is wonderful to watch handmade craftsmanship archery weapons. Where I live in California, I don't see bamboo that tall except in a park or zoo.

The 2 years is just the seasoning of the wood, which is fairly standard for most bow wood.
It didn't take 2 years to actually craft.

Wenn man bedenkt, daß Bogenmacher damals ohne all die technischen Hilfen auskommen mussten, über die man heute verfügt, kann man diese Leute nur bewundern und versteht auch, daß sie zu den bestbezahlten Handwerkern des Mittelalters gehörten. Ok, der klassische englische Langbogen ist kein Kompositbogen wie dieser und nur aus einem Stück Eibenholz gefertigt, aber auch da steckt viel Können drin.
