    I like how you don't have to remove both nuts on the hood to install the brackets. This way, you won't mess up the hood alignment.

      Yes, it’s very easy. Definitely do not want to deal with getting the hood straight. Have a great day.

    I installed another company’s hood struts on my 2022 XL Ecoboost. One plus is the hood flutter that I experienced at highway speeds was solved. Unfortunately the hood would not consistently open. Pulled on the hood latch multiple times and the wire disconnected from the latch. Took the trim off around the hood latch pull. Was able to pull the wire to unlatch the hood with the help of another. Way too much effort for something that should have been easy. Now I tolerate hood flutter and a prop rod. Hope your experience is different.

      Hi, yes you are the second person that told me that. Both different companies. The other only had 1 bolt on the fender and bolted on closer to the fire wall. I haven’t had any issues. The only thing on mine is the hood is about 2-3 inches lower than the pop rod. But I’m short. I haven’t had any openings issues. Thanks for the comment. A set of hood struts are great.

    • @fredsgarage1925
      @fredsgarage1925  4 месяца назад

      I like them, the only thing you have to be careful about is that they don’t raise the hood as high. So you need to make sure that you don’t hit your forehead on the hood when f you are tall.

    I also got a set did you notice your hood doesn't open as high as it use to be with the hood prop and you lose the ability to use the hood prop?

      Yay, it’s like a inch or 2 lower. Have to watch your forehead so you don’t hit it. My bronco install is like a foot higher. I can barely reach the hood on the bronco.

      Actually, the kit I installed apparently lifted the hood too high causing the struts to have too much pressure when the hood was lowered. Then when I went to reopen it, it didn’t want to release and open. After playing with it several times I decided to take them off.

    Love watching your videos come in very helpful for my 2023 MAVERICK. What Brand of hood strut kit did you use? I want to install them on my truck

      Hello, I used these ones, they are from a company called TSUBASA. amzn.to/476bhEX. They are very good, just be advised that they lower the hood about 3 inches over the prop rod. So watch your forehead. 😀. Thanks for the comment, have a great day.

    I’m interested to see how these do in the longer term. I was gonna get some for my Maverick and I ran across reports of these types of supports causing issues with the hood opening. Saying that it pressure on the hood when closed and preventing opening of the hood.

    • @fredsgarage1925
      @fredsgarage1925  Год назад +1

      Thanks I’ll let you know how they make out. I really believe that the direction are very bad. A lot of videos I have seen they where place incorrectly and I think that caused the hood releasing issues. Have a great day

      @donaldredline975 yes, same with me. It’s been flawless. It’s sad because you hear the 1% that complain about it but people never hear from the 99% that never have an issue. The Maverick is the #2 selling small pickup in the USA for 2023. Only the Tacoma beat it. Do you have the hybrid or the 2.0?

    Hi, I installed a different kit and the brackets had only one mounting hole. As a result the ones on the fender would twist a little and get out of alignment even though I tightened them a lot. I eventually had to take them off because the hood didn’t want to release. I was afraid the cable would break or come off. Does the hood release work properly with this kit? Thanks

    • @fredsgarage1925
      @fredsgarage1925  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, I have seen the ones you talk about. You are 100% correct. 1 single hole is not enough support, the lifts are pretty rigid. Hey, have a great day.
