They all have such an incredible internal metronome that they can stray so far from the main idea of a riff and come right back right when you thought they had lost the beat.
Maybe they're a new breed, having had a couple of generations of digital precision incorporated into the DNA. The drummer sure helps stick it together.

What's really amazing is that this kind of music would've been technically possible to make 50 years ago, like imagine Black Midi performing this set at Woodstock. Everyone would've absolutely lost their minds.

I see a lots of stupid comments about those guys and his performance, sound, hats, etc. The lp that's out now is amazing, its just will take four or five months and they will be everywhere.

Pretty standard across bands tbh, but hey, glad to have been there at the start to document and share it. That’s what i love to do.
I miss these days it feels like black midi went by so fast but to be honest I always got the feeling they weren’t going to be around very long. So blessed I got to see them when they came to Ohio two years ago. Love what greep is doing solo but I hope we see more from the others soon especially Morgan that man is probably the most talented drummer of his generation.
It's good to show up, state your case, and then piss off. They definitely left their mark on the scene and on the future (present) of music.

Saw them last week at EartH in Hackney, absolutely out of this world live. Bumped into the lead vocalist at the start of the gig and he was really chill. Album is fantastic, best album of the year in my opinion. Definitely seeing them again soon.
Serfs up! would give it a run for its money, also Musica Alla Putanesca, but it's definitely up there! They're so hot right now.

You can get a similar sound with any reverb pedal that goes full wet though

It'd be one thing if the claim had been black midi, but if all the ad revenue for it had gone to umg for the intro that would have seemed a bit unfair. It's getting harder to run a channel like this. Rough trade are pretty twitchy about content and would have blocked the whole video if they had seen revenue was going elsewhere. It means I don't get a penny for any of the meteoric number of hits for this vid. I get less money each month for exponentially increasing viewing stats due to cunning bots which identify content whilst the upload is 'processing' and monetise it for their master. 60k plus hits a month translates roughly to about a whole £20 if you're curious.
