Thank you for the info. Just as another comparison, I poured a 24 x 36 pad, no drain, and built a 24 x 24 garage so that I had a 6' porch on the front and a small over hang roof. Mine was built in 2008. Concrete cost $3600. Same green metal roof and siding and house wrap. That cost total of $8500. All in $12,100. With inflation your costs are about right on

T1-11 4 x 8 siding is $53 USD here in Upstate NY now. I only needed 3 sheets for a project, was about $117 with NYS tax. Builders here are estimating about $37K USD extra for lumber costs for new construction. Existing home sales here are off the charts, too expensive to build so anything that is still standing moves fast. Sellers market, people moving out of New York for red states sell quickly.

@@carolstombaugh3553 Doctors doing back operations has come a long way in improvements, I have had five of them. Before the first operation I was told that if I didn't have the operation, I would be paralyzed in left leg due to a herniated disc wearing the sciatic nerve into for that leg. To function on a daily basis, I was taking Percodan 30's at the rate of 500 a month as the pain was that intense, then after that was over the right leg developed same problem from another herniated disc, the remaining 3 operations had to be done to peel scar tissue off the two Sciatic nerves. now am able to walk normally and completely off the pain pills and the only thing that remains is numbness in Left leg due to me putting off having first operation so long that the nerve was worn so much that it was almost worn into, those two nerves are among the few that WILL NOT regenerate themselves. So if at all possible have the operation, it is a piece of cake.

No such thing as gouging, when it comes to non essentials. If people wait , prices will fall. Manufacturers will have no choice. When most of these manufacturers raise their prices really high, they don't share appropriately with their employees. Greed is filth, many wealthy people are greedy therefore filthy. It's called Capitalism, the cost of everything is maximum collectible cost. So long as people will pay, the price stays up. When people get tired of paying, the price will go down. Hard to say supply and demand because here in N Alabama I've not seen a lack of supply. I think they had a lack of supply that drove the cost up and so far it's just stayed up because sells have not dropped.

Pretty sure a building kit would probably be expensive as well. It is crazy!

I might do one as a project for a shed, or workout room or something, but wouldn't want to tackle a whole house build.

Not really as we had nothing and didn't know how things were going to turn out when we the release went through with the military. Things were pretty uncertain, so to be able to build this and things go better than we could have ever imagined, we are pretty happy with how things have turned out to be able to even have our money into something that can give back after all this work, etc.Have a great weekend Troy!

The price of wood products is not politically related,it is regulated by supply and demand, nothing else! Due to the duration of the pendemic, the real reason of the cost of wood per thousand bt/ft is: Economists say these 4 reasons added to the price of wood:
    1. Many people off of work due to pandemic drove up the demand of wood products because these people who were at home and still getting paid, decided to remodel their homes.
    2. Many major saw mills had to shut down or cut operations due to a lack of workers or raw product by loggers..
    3. Not enough trees being cut by loggers who lost many of their employees to either sickness or death.
4 .The Trump Administration denied imported wood products from Canada which supplemented US wood Stocks.
The US postal service had over 46 ,000 workers who could not deliver the mail because of sickness or death. The pandemic had a major impact on supply and demand due to a worker shortage. These are facts,so make it political if you so desire!
