What they did is they put a green picture on the monitor where you see the sketch, replaced the colour with the footage and in turn you get that effect.
Introducing Kevin: The guy that gets payed probably more than Barry did when he started, messes up about 2/3 of the episodes he edits to some extent, and does less than Barry in every sense of the word.

I am not an editor, I don't know the first thing about the work that goes into it, but it seems to me that Kevins only actual requirements for the work he does is to edit the videos into 10 minute chunks and get them uploaded to the channel. Well what do ya know....he does that. How is that being "lazy" and doing the bare minimum of effort at his job when that is all he has to do? the people that are really so butthurt about him not adding in the little sight gags and text stuff that barry used to , to me, seem the same kind of people who hate on Danny for not being Jon. The audio desyncing, as others have pointed out, was not his fault but RUclipss, so holding that against him makes you the asshole. Sure the text stuff that Barry did was funny but isn't the reason I watch/listen to the grumps show. I really do not care at all that Kevin doesn't make those edits and neither should you because at the end of the day that isn't actually his job because they aren't necessary to the show. He does it when his boss tells him to do and that's all he should have to do. I don't edit either, but from a purely logical standpoint, Kevin is lazy. Barry was self-taught to edit, with no prior knowledge, and set a high quality standard. Kevin went to collage specifically for editing purposes, and doesn't even do the bare minimum sometimes. Something doesn't add up.

I am talking about not including a seizure warning while Ross said it to him in the video (not in a joking manner but for serious asking him to put it in the video and he put it in the description) and leaving someone name in the commentary who in turn gets bashed by some "fans". Those are inexcusable for an editor but then you also have the audio synch issues the black transitions and the weird cut offs. Inexcusable for an editor but especially one who went to college. Don't hate the guy but I do think he needs to check the video's and does need to listen to the audio before finishing his work. And he is not overworked, he has said himself in a Q&A that the work is not heavy and that he took freelance work so that he had something to do in the meantime.

I am not an editor, I don't know the first thing about the work that goes into it, but it seems to me that Kevins only actual requirements for the work he does is to edit the videos into 10 minute chunks and get them uploaded to the channel. Well what do ya know....he does that. How is that being "lazy" and doing the bare minimum of effort at his job when that is all he has to do? the people that are really so butthurt about him not adding in the little sight gags and text stuff that barry used to , to me, seem the same kind of people who hate on Danny for not being Jon. The audio desyncing, as others have pointed out, was not his fault but RUclipss, so holding that against him makes you the asshole. Sure the text stuff that Barry did was funny but isn't the reason I watch/listen to the grumps show. I really do not care at all that Kevin doesn't make those edits and neither should you because at the end of the day that isn't actually his job because they aren't necessary to the show. He does it when his boss tells him to do and that's all he should have to do. The idea that he is doing a bad job is nonsense and people are just looking to be pissed off at something or there is some kind of editor snobbery going on that I can't understand

I don't edit either, but from a purely logical standpoint, Kevin is lazy. Barry was self-taught to edit, with no prior knowledge, and set a high quality standard. Kevin went to collage specifically for editing purposes, and doesn't even do the bare minimum sometimes. Something doesn't add up.
In what way? How is he lazy? He does his job, he gets the episodes out, edits them into 10-14 minute chunks. I am pretty sure that is at the very least the bare minimum
+Daniel Hayley There are multiple episodes with editing mistakes and those are not the funny gags I am talking about. I am talking about not including a seizure warning while Ross said it to him in the video (not in a joking manner but for serious asking him to put it in the video and he put it in the description) and leaving someone name in the commentary who in turn gets bashed by some "fans". Those are inexcusable for an editor but then you also have the audio synch issues the black transitions and the weird cut offs. Inexcusable for an editor but especially one who went to college. Don't hate the guy but I do think he needs to check the video's and does need to listen to the audio before finishing his work. And he is not overworked, he has said himself in a Q&A that the work is not heavy and that he took freelance work so that he had something to do in the meantime.
