Here's the thing: whether he's actually gay or not, if rumors about your sexuality affect your job, you have a right to defend yourself. I imagine the rumors about Kordell Stewart shortened his career and cost him money. A gay rumor about an NFL player even today is still problematic. I think it's cool of Tamron to interview him and get his side of the story, even if it does go back 20+ years.

It's part of the reason that heterosexual black men are homophobic. At their core, they probably don't truly care about a man's sexuality but they have to put on this front or risk being mislabeled.

I can understand how this affected him and his career if it's true or not. Ppl feed off of negativity. Even now, he's explaining how it was for him and being bashed. Plenty of ppl tell their truths and feelings years later... When they are ready. This world is so cruel.
It's so easy to lie on someone and create a rumor that is completely made up. In my opinion, it's nothing wrong if someone is attracted to the same sex....I believe you can't help who you are attracted to. However, it's not okay to accuse someone of being something that they're not, and they have a right to be offended by that accusation. The other issue with this accusation is that no matter how hard he tries to clear his name, they'll always be people who still will not believe him or never even hear his rebuttal.
From what I read under this very video, some heard his rebuttal and still accuse him of lying or push a different narrative of him being abusive to his ex-wife which does not confirm or negate the facts of the lie in question.
Many people seem to love gossip and slander except when they are the target. Avoid the unhappy at all cost
Nothing wrong? Goes against the Bible. Why can some sins be called out and not others? It's not okay to harass people. It's not ok to attack people. But you can voice your concern in a loving way if you really truly care. Easy to say you love someone but if you never express your concerns, do you really care?

Kordell has being saying hes straight for a grip and I believe him. This was a rumor to destroy him.. I was at the games in the mid 90s as a kid and the steelers fans love him.. Then out of nowhere Steelers nation turned on him with a quickness and everyone hated him. My dad stopped going to the games cause of all the racist slurs towards Kordell, It was a bizarre time as a Steelers fan in the late 90s. Mad props to Kordell for dealing with it all.

I remember hearing the rumor about Kordell in the late nineties. I believe that it was started by one of his former teammates. There were plenty of people in Pittsburgh who didn’t want him to be the quarterback of the team. I think he loved Porsha, but he thought he was getting a traditional wife and that’s not who Porsha is. But everybody should be able to see that these housewives shows are not good for a marriage.

It is a conversation that needs to be discussed. Wendy Williams made her career alluding to these sexual allegations about men. However I am surprised by Cordell discussing it now since he has lived a rather quiet successful life for decades.

It’s usually due to time. People tend to talk too long or ramble. You will see it on every talk show because there’s a very limited time for most segments. They do that to redirect, clarify, move on to the next topic, or insert a break. Generally there’s a producer in her ear telling her what to do. That said I didn’t notice that at all in this interview. I thought she did a great job directing the interview. It’s literally her job.

I'm glad Kordell addressed him not being homosexual. He doesn't have to stay quiet. I said what I said. Now about Porsha alluding to his sexuality, she's getting her payback by way of Dennis the hot DOG king.
I understand for time's sake on daytime television things have to be tight and brief but I wish Kordell was able to expound more on some of the things he was saying. He's kept rather quiet over the years, especially after appearing on RHOA with his ex wife. He's handled himself pretty honorably IMO.

The late Mr. Gilliam caught hell in Pittsburgh even worse than Kordell Stewart did, including serious death threats.

I was too young to hang out the brother, but these racist peckerheads were relentless in their attack on him. Why he didn't consult other Southern Black players for strength, I don't know, but this is what we do know, as Africans of the Diaspora, hated and dispised in the country we built some of us harden like steel under racism. Some of our brothers and sisters crumble under the pressures of racism and bigotry, but we all suffer from PTSD, in some way or another and some worse than others. I knew one day Kordell Stewart wood do a comeback and tell his side of the story. This was actually a good interview. Gay or not he is still successful and doing well. I liked how he did not down talk Porsha but wished her the best in life.
