I see the Chikuhodo gaining popularity on RUclips..they are very nice...I started to shop for them..Thank you for the information. I love your hair today Lexi.👍🏻
Hi Lexi! I just started the video, still have to watch it, but wanted to take a second to tell you how lovely that Koh Gen Do foundation looks on you! It’s been so hot here in Ohio that I haven’t worn my new Aqua foundation yet. Just been putting on sunscreen and running out the door. So excited to start wearing it daily after seeing how beautiful it looks on your skin.
The Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation actually works really well during the summer because it is so light and natural. If I really want it to last for a long time, I use the Dermablend Insta-Grip Jelly Primer. Otherwise I use the Ilia True Skin Radiant Priming Serum. Either way it is a beautiful foundation that looks like skin. For reference, I live in the south and have very oily skin but I do set it with powder.
Hey Lexi, the brushes look very nice and I love how you said what you can use the brushes for. Two weeks wasn't too bad but at least they tell you in advance. FW and have a great day.
I have the T-6 large eyeshadow brush and it's my everything! I love the softness and slight firmness, the size. And I just ordered the new T-11 (and the Fu Pa 2)! So great to hear how much you love the T-11!! Thank you for this thorough review and comparison session!
That t8 brush is calling me don t have anything like It in goat hair. Io do have the z10 but would not use It with cream products lovely video as always Happy Birthday Lei! Enjoy your day Take care❤
HI! Do you still love the T-11? I am evaluting buying it from Beatylish before the event ends. What is your opinion? Do you have the Rephr 24? It looks similar, or the WG 12 ... Thanks for the info!
I have the rephr 24 and they are a similar shape but the rephr is much thicker. I usually use it for bronzer. I love the t-11 and it has become one of my favorite foundation brushes. It is best for thinner formulas instead of a thicker foundation imo.
Lexi - Thank you so much for this thorough review. I am still researching before a fude brush purchase and really relate to your input. I am just getting into makeup more with this quarantine and your thoughts as another user rather than a professional are so meaningful. You answered many of my questions about the brush comparisons and this will allow me to buy fewer. Thanks so much!
Hi Lexi 😁 I am in love with the thought of these brushes! I will definitely be purchasing some Sonia G brushes at some point just not yet:)) All of these brushes look and sound amazing!! good brushes make all the difference! I have some Japanese brushes & I love them 😍 This is a fabulous review ‼️ see you soon 😁
Lexi I love how thorough you were in this video very detail I agree with you on the GSN 7 and the Takumi foundation brush ad I love them but both target different needs I am very much in to this details with my brushes, kisses 😘
Great video Lexi! I love my natural hair brushes. I have the Sonia G, Rephr, some Wayne Goss and various other brushes. I also have a variety of synthetic brushes too. I love my Sigma brushes, most of them have special shapes and I the Artis brushes, which are also terrific. But, I would love to get some of the brushes you displayed. They are so much fun to play with too (along with changing my makeup application). Do you know when Visage runs their sales? Or do they email you? Thanks! Take care, Ginny😘😘😘
Hi Ginny! I get an email when they run a sale. I know they definitely have a Fall sale around Thanksgiving but i can’t remember if there is usually another one before that. I always share the info on Instagram. The sales usually run for a few weeks. I have been meaning to try a few sigma brushes! Thank you for watching!
@@LexiJong Thanks Lexi, I will sign up for Visage emails. Sigma makes a quality synthetic brush, I like their precision brushes for specialty applications. Take a look at their website and you'll know what I mean, they make shapes that are not offered in the Fude brushes. 😊
Wow! Nice haul. And before I forget, i hope you have a very happy birthday tomorrow. I envy your collection. How do these new brushes compare with your fox and squirrel brushes? My face and eyes get irritated by white goat hair brushes. I have a few squirrel hair brushes for eyes but they are best for blending and not so good for laying down shimmer shades. I want sable hair brushes but those seem impossible to find. I haven’t invested in the fox hair brushes because I don’t see them being used on YT reviews. Are the fox hair eye brushes good? I frequently see Rephr, Sonia G, Wayne Goss and BK brushes being used for YT reviews, and I have no brushes from those brands. I need smallish brushes because I have limited face and lid space to work with, (e.g. the Surratt face brushes are perfectly sized for me) so which brand of brushes would you most recommend for me?
I purchased the Fox hair collection from Chikuhdo when they first came out and they really only had one eyeshadow brush which is very large. They have since released two smaller brushes and they are on my wishlist. I have heard good things about those two and I know that some people feel comfortable using them with cream products as well as powder. The fox hairs supposedly have the durability of goat but the softness of squirrel; however, I think the fox feel a tiny bit softer than the squirrel and the individual hairs look so fine that I don't feel comfortable using them with cream products. I love my fox hair brushes in general though and often use the face brushes. If the white goat irritates you, I would definitely look into the fox and squirrel eye brushes. I would start with the two smaller fox brushes from Chikhudo's FO series. Koyudo also has a fox collection (not sure if they have eye brushes or not yet) but they are very expensive compared to the Chikuhodo ones. I don't have a lot of squirrel eye brushes yet but I really like the ones I have from Surratt. I have a few Wayne Goss eye brushes but I feel like my Surratt ones pick up product better. I only have the petite and medium size brushes from Surratt and imo, the medium is plenty big enough for a large brush. I have a couple of sable brushes from ESUM and if I were you, I would get a couple of those if you use cream products. I don't find them as soft as the squirrel or the fox though. So overall, I would start with the Chikuhodo FO-6 and FO-7. They are reasonably priced and should give you a good idea of what you like. I find that the fox hairs pick up product very well! I hope this helps! (BTW, I just received some more new brushes from the Chikuhodo KZ series and I picked up a couple of their eyeshadow brushes. I haven't washed or tried them yet but will review them in a couple of weeks - they may be a good option for you as well.)
I love brushes but I’ve never purchased a luxury brush. I would say the most I ever spent on a brush is $35-40 lol but I only use synthetic vegan brushes too. but I love Beautylish for shipping too! They are the greatest
I have a question regarding the T-11 vs. the GSN-5. I currently have the Koyudo Fupa 2 which I love except for the fact that it is slightly scratchy. Do you have that brush to compare the other 2 with? In particular, which one is less scratchy? Also I have been reading the reviews for both brushes and there are a few reviewers on Beautylish who said that the application with the T-11 was streaky. Do you find that to be the case?
I only have the Fu-Pa 03 which is synthetic so I can't compare those. However, as to streaky application, I prefer light to medium coverage foundations and I have not had any streaks with those. But since the brush isn't as firm as some others, I can see streaks being an issue with a thicker formula. I used it in the GRWM video that went up today with the Chantecaille reak skin + stick so you can get an idea of how it works. If you use a stick foundation and you let it dry a little too long before spreading, I can see streaks being a problem. Basically, anything thick and dry will require a firmer brush for application and I think the GSN-05 is slightly firmer and would do the trick in those situations.
Also Koyudo just announced that they are increasing their prices in September due to the increasing cost of the materials. I expect that other natural brush manufacturers like Chikuhodo and Hakuhodo will follow suit.
Lexi Jong Just a heads up because I know that you like the Koyudo Fupa 3 brush. Koyudo is discontinuing a number of brushes including the Fupa series and most of the BP series. They are releasing a new series called the F series which has some similar shapes to the Fupa series but uses more synthetic bristles. If you love the Fupa or BP series, now is the time to get them. However, if the brushes are listed as out-of-stock or on back order, check another seller because chances are that seller won’t get them again.
FYI if you are looking to purchase any Chikuhodo brushes, Visage USA is having another sale: 10% off a purchase of $140 or more (code ENDSUM10), 15% off a purchase of $180 or more (code ENDSUM15), 20% off a purchase of $240 or more (code ENDSUM20), and 25% off a purchase of $280 or more (code ENDSUM25).
