Your Fude Beauty partnerships are always exciting! No one gives the details on brushes like you do. The Chikuhodo GSN-5 is one of my all time favorites.
Hi Alicia! I was on the livestream you just did checking audio and I was thanking you for wearing your hair the way you do because I get criticized for wearing my hair the same way. People say it's not an "adult" hairstyle which I find strange because this is how my hair grows out of my head and it's a ponytail 🥴 so thank you for showing a great example of not conforming to straight=better. Always looking stylish😎 But the comment was deleted after I said in the chat so I wanted to say sorry if my comment was rude or disrespectful. Not sure if you deleted it or someone else but I didn't want there to be any confusion. I just wanted to show love 💚
Same! When she ran her fingers over that Fu-pa brush, it was OVAH! I need that one NOW! I'm afraid to keep watching the video because I'll probably end up buying even more brushes. 🙈💸
Omg Alicia, you’re a mind read. I was going to reach out to you for your opinion on which brushes to purchase for liquid, powder and cream, the latter of which I’m really into. You’re in my head girl because this video is timely. Thank you 🙏
Hi, friend! Your timing is IMPECCABLE! I've been brush researching for the past few weeks & I've invested in a few recently, including two BK Beauty brushes yesterday. That first Fu-pa brush? I'm done. I'm DONE! Thank you for such informative videos. Nobody does it better! ❤️
I love the details of information she gives on the brushes. I purchased 3 of them from her recommendations and 1 more from just snooping around and it was fast shipping and I have no regrets I love them!!! 🤗
I bought the Fu-pa last year (the original one that is full goat hair) after reading a blogpost by Sonia G about them, and I love it with my cream/liquid and Tom Ford stick foundations. What a finish, the brush is impossibly velvety and dense. I also have the T-11 and it’s crazy soft - I use it under the eyes with powder and I love using it for bronzer and the TF Shade and Illuminate cream contour. So good.! (i really want to try that Danessa Myricks contour balm!) That puffy 04 Omgaaa- wishlist! And the Mizuho looks fab to me for a smaller brush head for details and cream blush. Loved the informative video as always! Thank you Alicia and Fude Beauty 💜💜💜💜💜
I have been enjoying your videos, I have only come into the RUclips world lately. I started with Michelle Wang. I really enjoy your honesty. I love all these brushes. I really want one for cream blush. I purchased the Tower 28 after watching your video and also the Westman Atelier. Is there one you like best for not having to purchase so many brushes? Thanks!
I have the Koyudo Fu-pa Foundation and concealer brushes. I saw The Fancy Face using it. It work so well to evenly apply medium to full coverage Foundation like Fenty or Too Faced Born this Way but also great for lighter products like Glossier and Nars. The concealer brush is also soft and dense. Just got the powder Foundation brush yesterday.
I've been looking forward to this video! That PF4 Puff brush is going to be mine. The T-11 is fantastic, totally a fave but there is something about that little puff that is calling my name. Thanks so much for bringing us these videos and taking the time to go through the differences among the fude. So helpful and always fun.
Hey @aliciaarcher - I was going through several of your fude brush videos to identify which foundation brush I'd like to order and while I'm tempted to buy Koyudo F03 Fu-Pa02, I'm curious as to why you didn't mention the Bisyodo B-FD-01 Foundation Brush Long Series (Saikoho)? Like which out of the 2 brushes would you recommend?
I really love this type of video. It is so informative. Do you have one for eye brushes? I would like to understand shapes and fibers. Also would like to know what works with powder or cream eyeshadow.
Literally was looking last night for a good foundation brush! I have the sigma f80 and it stabs my skin. Going to check out the first koyudo brush and the T-11. Thank you, Alicia!
OMG! you read my mind.. After purchasing 2 other brushes you recommended and trying Fude beauty brushes, I wanted to ask you for a brush(es) for cream/liquid products. Your demonstrations and explanations with techniques are THE BEST 🌻😉. I will be ordering 2. Thank you ..
OOOOOO YAAAYYYY more Fude content!!! I have the Fu Pa (the original one) and the only difference I can see is that mine has the name in Japanese rather than English cursive down the side. Not sure about the bristles, though, the blend might be different ( I got mine from Beautylish years ago and just don't remember the description of the bristles). I also have been eyeing the GSN 5, but ended up snatching the Puff Brush when it launched cuz, well, IT WAS JUST TOO CUTE and is the same shape of my GSN 02 that I love!! Now I need to get the GSN 05 and stop putting the poor guy on the back burner every month. Thank you Alicia! Have a wonderful night Frenzz!
Absolutely a fabulous demonstration and explanation on these brushes. So which one might be best for cream foundation? I definitely like the softer brushes however if synthetic is better for applying I’ll try that. Ok I’d like 2 recommendations foundation and contour if possible. You are the best and I definitely trust your expert opinion. I’m watching again that’s a lot of options!
Here I am looking for 'A' new foundation brush.....watch this video and I now have 4 of your recommendations in my cart!!!! Yeah....I'm gonna get 'em all.
Thank you for your informative video. I like to try the KOYUDO fupa brush but couldn’t decide between the fupa02 or fupa08? I normally use cream/stick foundation and liquid foundation and cream bronzer and cream blush. Please help me decide. Thank you
Love your videos I was wondering which brush you recommend for the Chantecaille Future Skin Gel Foundation that I can get from Beautylish. Thank you gorgeous.
I bought the chikahudo PF-4 when it first launched, it intrigued me too🤩 its beautiful in person, I've been using it for powder cause I was too scared to ruin it with cream/liquid products, but after watching your application I'll have to try it out! Love the video friend, these are some of my favorite videos of yours!
Quick question: I placed my first order on FudeBeauty (I usually shop via CDJapan) but figured I would give it a shot due to your high endorsement. However, I placed my order on March 31st and didn't receive an email confirmation. I reached out and they said they emailed it to me (nope) and to give it five business days to wait for my order to ship. It's going on 7 business days and still no word. Is this normal? I just wanted some feedback since you seem to be quite familiar with them. It was a hefty order and I'm a bit wary of the lack of communication.
Thank you for the thorough review. Your fude brush videos are so therapeutic to watch after a long workday 😍! Have you tried other brushes from Mizuho? I recently acquired all their brushes from the MB series and a CMP527. For a relatively budget-friendly brand, I am very impressed by the quality of their brushes.
Wish there was a coupon code or something to make that $25 shipping taste a little better in my mouth. Definitely getting a couple of the Chikahodo tho. Thanks for the video
You’ve convinced me to reconsider the T-11 and now the GSN5 too. Perhaps a purchase in the coming month or two. What was the name or number of the Suqqu powder foundation that was used? I’m about the same foundation colour. I don’t see it in the description box. Can’t wait til the next Suqqu video!
Came back to this video to pull the trigger and purchase from Fude Beauty but had to click out due to the $25 shipping. I can justify almost anything but that amount for shipping 😭😅 I need Beautylish to restock their brushes soon!! Your recs are too good!!
Alicia! I have so many brushes that I need to wash! I haven’t used the last brushes that I bought off of your recommendation. Still gets a pen and paper to make a list.
I would use the T-6 for concealer! It’s mire wispy than a denser brush, but I think ideal for a light layering of coverage. In regards to the Koyudo and Chikuhodo, I would say that each design influences it’s own application technique. I like to “Paint on” with the Koyudo, whereas I pounce on with the Chikuhodo. And the Koyudo is a touch more denser.
They ship to the UK and I'm sure I'll get free shipping with what I'm spending. You are the best when we're talking brushes. So many quality brands...spoilt for choice
I love a good stipple brush. There are a couple newer shapes that I like more than the traditional flat top brushes... from ELF and Real Techniques. I wish there was a high end brush like these.
Dayum Alicia , I didn’t think I would ever utter the words, I need that Fu-pa 🥴 Saving this video , I’m going to have a look through my collection, it’s a toss up between the fupa 2 or the GSN 👌🏽
Sorry may have asked this on another video but how do these brushes especially the foundation type ones compare to like a Sonia G jumbo base in terms of a flawless finish?
No worries! The main difference is that Sonia’s brush is a mixture of synthetic and natural bristles, where this are mostly all exclusively natural or synthetic respectively.
@@aliciaarcher ah okay. Do you feel one blends foundation better than the other? I kind of want to splurge on one good foundation brush and I usually use cheaper brushes (sigma kabuki) or beauty blender. I don’t need it to do everything just my foundation but I’m trying to pick the best possible item in that category. Can I say also I find your reviews really helpful!! I’ve already narrowed down blush brush, concealer and eye brushes they were easy choices to make based on your videos :)
It all depends on the finish you wish to achieve. What’s optimal about Sonia’s blend, is that the synthetic fibers don’t soak up product, but the natural hairs do which I find yields a good amount of coverage. Whereas a brush made of let’s say saikoho goat hair, will take away more product. And for someone who wants a more natural finish with their foundation, probably will be their best pick. Sigma brushes are a great because they’re durable, and put on a a lot of product. But the Japanese technology used for synthetic filaments these days is on a whole other level. You have the softness AND durability. I like to have options depending on the foundation I wish to use. But if I were to just choose one, it will be Sonia’s Jumbo Base.
@kinkysweat - I’m wondering if the Fu-Pa 03 has the intense smell of goat.. No pun intended here.. I really wanted to buy it.. It’s just that there are goat brushes that have wayyy too strong goat smell that makes me 🤮🤮🤮 .. Thank you so much for the in-dept review. This is the best I’ve seen! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, Grace! 🥰 That’s an interesting question! I never encountered a strong goat hair smell, so I’m not an ideal resource to comment on that. I would say, it’s helpful to wash the brushes before using them. But does that no matter sometimes, if the goat hair smell is too aggressive?
My husband just came in the room and goes “oh my favorite one. I hope she makes lots of money” 😂

I appreciate you, Ivy! Thank you for the kind words, and I learn something new everyday. Chikuhodo GSN-5 is BAE! 😍
@Tarryn Louise I personally only have the GSN 5 - I absolutely enjoy it for liquid foundation but unfortunately I can’t speak to the other brush.

How do you clean these brushes, especially the ones with natural hair? Since you use them with liquids, do you wash them after each use?
I wipe them on a microfiber towel in between uses, and aim to wash them once a month.
